I doubt he even cares at this point about one more championship. He will just want all the cameras, media and attention of one final farewell season.

He has said repeatedly he does NOT want a farewell season.

What do you expect an Allen Robinson contract to look like?

Multiple pages... lots of words, a few numbers.  Probably a couple signatures.

I keep LOL'ing at the people in here clamoring for Robinson, when there are younger, cheaper options that are still big upgrades that will be available in FA like DJ Chark or Christian Kirk.

DJ Chark. Injury proned WR with potential and ties to our FO. Sounds like he fits our MO.

Chatter is Brady would like a trade to the 49ers for one last hurrah.

Jimmy G gets traded, Lance gets to sit behind Brady and learn, and 49ers become better.

Not sure TB would acquiesce unless there was a handshake deal in place with Brady.

Handshake deal for what? They would have to agree to the trade.  I can't see SF wanting to part with much having just traded for Lance.  It would be funny if they trade Jimmy G for Brady.  I can see that deal making sense for the Bucs.  Jimmy G would still make them competitive for the NFC S division

Hurts definitely does hamper our attractiveness. Hopefully he isn't the one in the huddle in week 1.

Bienemy does not call plays. He carries Andy's clipboard and his Big Macs in his pockets.

Pederson didn't call plays either.  No one thought Pederson had any real role in terms of KC's offense when he was hired.  It's what Bienemy brings in terms of team structure, roster philosophy, offensive knowledge and connections.  I  have no idea how to judge him on those things but he didn't learn nothing from Reid.  I mean there's plenty of good OC's or DC's who were bad head coaches.

Aggregate stats are the only thing that matters when comparing two players... how they arrive at those stats is completely inconsequential.  Just ignore any context or skill set.

Josh Allen was not good through 2 years.  Hurts is not good through 2 years.  Therefore they have something in common and clearly have the potential to be on the same career trajectory.  This is just like people comparing JJAW to elite WRs who aren't fast when the only thing they have in common is not being fast.

Why would they hire a guy that hasn't won a playoff game in years and was part of giving Taysom Hill that insane contract

Wouldn't even work in football. It worked for Kobe because it's basketball and the Lakers had a dog crap team that just stood around so Kobe could play the hits on tour. NFL players would be incurring so much more physical risk.

If Brady isn't title chasing, he's done. Nothing else makes sense.

where is this chatter happening?

We'll see. It will be under the guise of "competing" and not just a farewell tour, but essentially would be just that. I don't think he's the type to just quietly and abruptly walk away.

Someone like Allen Robinson would make a load of sense for someone like Buffalo to go get.  Josh Allen played perfect football and came within a sniff of the AFC championship, so go all in and load that offense up.  Get a solid RB in the draft and spend the rest on defense.

We need someone like JuJu.  Won't break the bank, still only 25, can be a solid intermediate route runner.  And if we throw another high pick at WR he can easily kick into the slot.

A Handshake deal with Brady before he signed in 2020, that if he signs with the Bucs and down the line asks for a trade, that they will facilitate it.

Paul George had a similar thing with OKC.

I think SF would be open to it, it would be a win now move and would also be great for Lance to sit and learn from the GOAT. Win-Win.

So, JJAW is basically Jimmy Smith.

Brady’s goal is Super Bowl Championships so having a "farewell season” wouldn’t make sense; it would only add more pressure on himself, imo

More importantly, no coach has ever gone from winning a Super Bowl with one team, to winning it with another.   I think that the trap most fall into is trying to recreate the past.  It never works.

Colin Cowherd talked about it on his show in the opening segment.

Would be fascinating to see what the Bucs would do if Brady requested to move on. Historic trade package for Wilson or Rodgers? Blow it all up?

Link to the segment. It is timestamped.

It doesn't mean he doesn't want to play one more season for another team.

NO ONE SAID THEY ARE NOT BETTER THAN HURTS.....FFS.  No one has been more critical of Hurts longer than I have.

It's not about if one of those guys is better than Hurts/Minshew.  It's if one of those guys is better than Hurts/Minshew + what it'll cost to get them and how far will it set team back when it fails.

Moving one 1st back to 2023 is not depleting your overall haul for this draft.  It's a wise investment.  Investing in old qb's or Watson is not a wise investment.  Actually, Watson is the wiser of the options if you're gonna go that rout.  Still very very risky.  So one last time, for you GreenD and anyone else.  We all Know Carr, Watson, Wilson, A Rod are better QB's than Hurts.  That's not a unique perspective.

Draft 2 of the 2sts and pretty much all of your high picks.  Kick one of the 1st back to 2023 and hope a QB emerges then.  This All or Nothing plan is ridiculous.

You know what the word Retire means?

read it again, I basically stated you would agree they would be better, I  never claimed you or anyone else sait it wouldnt be better        FFS.  🙂

1) really, who cares what it costs in reality? It's Howies job to make it work and still be able to put together a strong team. If he cant do that, then it doesn't work. Thats a given.

2) If you plan on drafting a qb in 2023 because you dont like the other options, you will need more capital than just moving one 1st rd pick to 2023. We have no idea what QB's (if any ) would be a blue chip prospect, and you cannot tell where you will be in draft ortder. Just because you WANT to trade into the top spot to get your QB doesn't mean the team who is in that spot is ok with trading out. Which means you might have to really over spend to get the spot, if they are willing?. Who knows what THAT will cost.

So i'm not positive we will even have 2 firsts for this year, if we plan on kicking the can down the road on drafting a QB prospect.

The bird in the hand worth two in a bush- Give me a known factor at QB vs trading up to draft an unknown prospect?  It just makes more sense.

What are you talking about?

Brady's seasons are always measured by a Super Bowl title. He's set such an insane expectation. With the bar set that high for him, there is no extra pressure that he could experience. A farewell season would be like a retirement party; you get to see a lot of long time co-workers who you'll never see again, eat a bunch of food and drink too much. You get a nice gold watch and everybody is in a great mood as you ride off into the sunset.

Him not winning the Super Bowl in any given season is a failure; his last would be no different.

If Sean Payton goes to Dallas, my hatred for The Dallas Cowboys would reach a level I didn’t even think I had in me.

I actually like comparing Hurts to Reagor.

Both are not good.  Both have absolutely no idea how to play their position.  They went through college without figuring it out and went through 2 different professional coaching regimes without figuring it out.

Interestingly, that's where the similarities end.  Despite the the failures, Reagor actually has conventional, projectable, and desirable talent for the position.  Hurts does not.  Hurts went through the best coach in NCAA history and the best offensive coach in the NCAA without learning to play the position, while Reagor was only assigned go routes and screens in a very rudimentary offense constrained by a crap QB.  (Ironic that the Eagles justified Reagor in round 1 because we couldn't see how great he'd be because he was constrained by a rudimentary college offense with a crap QB).

I'm not trying to defend Reagor here.  But I just find it interesting that he's universally public enemy number one who should have been cut yesterday, while Hurts has a large support base as the starting QB deserving of developmental patience.

If we need to be patient, shouldn't that be extended to the more talented player who has definitely had less quality coaching during his developmental years in college?
