Michael Thomas fits exactly what we need, but he's way too expensive. 15M base salary.
Demario Davis though would cost at least a 1st. He's a stud.

You say hat about any city.  Hell, I am always defending Philly....to people who think they whole town is a ish hole.  When there is exceptions.

As someone who was born in Philly, partially grew up in Philly, spent a majority of my adulthood there, and is a fan of all 4 Philly sports teams...I think ish hole is a pretty good description of Philly, to be perfectly honest.

It was reported that SanFran was his first choice when he was FA, but they deiced to stick with Jimmy G.

He grew up there, a 49ers fan, and his family lives there.

I would give up a 1st for Michael Thomas…probably more.  Would need to pass a physical with no injury issues etc.

I've been chewing on the type of center we want after Kelce. A lot of that is dictated by the approach defenses are taking these days and I want to get into that. Those of you who pay attention to defensive alignments have probably noticed the terms 2i and 4i frequently. Georgia plays it. Alabama plays it. The Bucs play it. And...the Eagles play it, though not all the time.

What it is is a 3-4 defense with a nose tackle and two defensive linemen with their hands down. The NT plays head up on the center (0 Technique) and the two DL play on the inside shoulders of the OT. Head-up on the OT would be the 4 technique, hence the term 4i for 4 technique shaded inside the OT.

Here we go.

This is not to say that this front is a be-all and end-all. If you can block the NT with your C the whole thing falls apart.

That bolded comment brings me back to Kelce's replacement. If we have a C who can block Vita Vea or Jordan Davis or whoever, we can handle this front. It's why I have second thoughts about Linderbaum. It's why Dickerson does make sense at C. Of course, if you do move Dickerson to C you sacrifice that massive left side.

See now you're getting all emotional.  I never said any plan was fool proof.  Especially with Howie drafting.  But this all started with you poo pooing defense because of your blood lust () for an aged proven veteran QB.  And I just think that isn't wise.  Just because it worked for the Bucs doesn't mean it's a blueprint for the rest of the league.  Again, this is all because of some crazy playoff games...We had a franchise QB.  He got f-ed up by injuries and the owner and his little boy toy f-ed the franchise up.

I'm not emotional ya butt clown.  We just don't see eye to eye. I'm mostly just emotional on game day. Although this year I wasn't even emotional until the end of the season.

Again, the city is cool to visit and all of the negatives that you listed are true.  I loved the town when I was there.  The weather is an odd deal though.  I used to go to conferences in Monterey every July...And that is the coldest time of the year there.  Could be 50 degrees and foggy, then you get 20 miles inland and it's 85 degrees and sunny.

Geographically, I think it's a place I'd love to visit. The people in power out there have changed it for the worse. Generally speaking, I think that region of the country is very cool.

Also would love to visit Alcatraz.

1) Who cares?  When I say cost, I am talking draft equity not dollars.  So yeah, I care if we are throwing around our historic draft equity on some malcontents who most likely don't want to be here anyay.

2) You need more draft capital than just one more 1st in 2023.  Very possible.  If we trade one of our 2022 1sts, we should get more than a 2023 1st.  Plus we'll have our own 1st and 2nd and other future 1st or 2nds.  It's really just banking equity for the future.

I don't even know what you're talking about when talking about trading up for a QB this year.  I don't know anyone who has suggested that.

Known factor at QB?  Everything has an expiration date....and everything has it's risks.  If your only solution is Wilson, Watson, Carr and ARod....using those picks.....I'm out.

I gave a 3 step plan starting With Rodgers, Wilson, Watson or Carr, and moving backwards from there.

Trading up for a QB in 2023, not 2022. We dont know if that will be possible. Maybe the QB we want goes 1st to a team that wants that QB over 3 1st rd picks.

Thats why a bird in the hand is better than 2 in a bush. I can atleast point to Rodgers, Wilson, Watson or Carr as possibilities you should exhaust first.

If that means your out- so be it.

I heard it used to be great, but not so much anymore.

Other than the weather, not sure why anyone would want to live in California.

Insane costs of living. High taxes. Earthquakes. Blackouts. Wildfires. Strictest COVID policies in the country. Rising crime. Very high carjackings and thefts. Homeless encampments rampant. Used needs strewn about the streets.

And San Fran doesn't even have the weather advantage other California cities have.

Lived there '99 to '02, it was a beautiful place then (don't know about now) but having Tahoe a couple hours away, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Santa Cruz, Sonoma/Napa...I mean there is just so much to do.  And as for the city, yeah....there were some meh areas, but I lived in Pacific Heights with my living room window facing out at the bay and Alcatraz and it was stunning.  Plus, I got to go to San Diego a lot because I was working with the Chargers and had to go to their home games.  Great time of my life and after living in Philly, San Francisco and New York, and having traveled to Paris, Rome, Miami, St. Petersburg, Copenhagen to name a few........will say that San Francisco is probably just behind Paris for me.

Well I am not talking about living there.  I visited there a lot back when I was in A school for the military in Petaluma.  I loved it.  I couldn't afford to live there.  So I guess I would fall under the homeless category.  But certainly isn't a toilet.

Beauty, food, porn.  What else do you need?

That was from 2 years ago. It hasn't gotten any better. It certainly is a toilet...that never flushes.

I think SF is a toilet, but to each their own.  Lots of natural beauty in the area though.  Good food.  Good place to be a billionaire or to be homeless.  Pretty much anyone in between would have a better life elsewhere.

I think the last property to sell within SF for less than a mil was on fire, not that that matters - aren’t they down in San Jose anyway.

It's interesting that San Francisco tops the list of cities that NFL athletes do not want to play in.  Definitive, dead last.  Buffalo and GB up next due to the small towns and weather.

Everyone here will hate this, but Dallas is at the top of the list of where players want to be.  No state income tax...and players like playing for Jerry Jones.

Really?

And the Bottom 5:

1. Buffalo, 12 votes
2. Oakland, 11
3. Cincinnati, 8
4. Detroit, 7
5. Cleveland, 6

this. SF is a ****hole and it's not even close.

Surrounding areas are amazing.

this is why people are leaving Cali more than any other state(might of been #2) outside of NY.

Wonder what they have in common

California lost net population for the first time in ages this past year. Florida and Texas population skyrocketed.

This alignment isn't what I was talking about - it's a 4-man line with one DE in a straight-up 4-technique on the LT and the other DT, aside from Davis, in a straight-up 3-technique.

However,

This is exactly why you have to think about your C and what he can and can't do. Great clip! Thanks for posting.

I wouldn't do it, but you know the Rams at jumping at the chance to get a stud ILB at a reasonable cap hit (7.5M) with a 2024 1st round pick.

SF makes West Philly look like South Beach.

I've had this conversation on here before.

I've had all inclusive trips to NOLA and SF that I turned down. Everything paid for, flight, 4 star hotel, food and booze. Passed and opted for a much, much less cash value that was taxed to the fullest.

Never been to Philly but I lived in SF for 5 years, but I haven't lived there in about 8 years now, having said the first time I went there my wife and I went to look for apartments and we stayed in a hotel right in the city and I'd never been to a real big city, SLC is pretty small in comparison, as was Aukland when I lived there, anyway we're in our room and I'm looking out the window and I see these two guys walking towards each other and one of them pulls what looked like a crack pipe out if his pocket then right there on the side walk both these guys smoked it, I looked at my wife and said where the heck are we moving, she just laughed and said not right here.

We lived on the other side if the caldecott bridge in Concord, walnut creek.

We really liked living in SF but eventually moved after my wife graduated because it was just to dang expensive and crowded.

I have a lot of fond memories of SF and as I said tht was 8 years ago so I'm sure it's changed.
