I disagree. The rules these days favor offense. So offenses have an advantage.

Sure they do.  And yet, the last two drives, both offenses really needed a TD to win... and yet they couldn't get it done.  Apparently, defense still does matter.

They did.  But the #1 defense is at home, and the 20th or so defense is still playing.

The only constant in all of it, you have to have an elite QB.
