If they can, that's news to me.  I prefer they don't.  Let the on field officials handle the game and then after the game, the league can handle it and deal with the officials.

No it’s not.  The #1 defense lost while putting up no resistance.  It is showing you have to have a QB first and foremost.

That’s been my argument against defense for the last few years.

1.  It doesn’t matter if an elite qb is totally locked in.

2. Having that elite qb not be locked in is more due to intrinsic factors than extrinsic (the defense).  The #1 defense in the nfl couldn’t do anything to stop Mahomes.  The emotional exhaustion of last week did more to stop him when it counted than any defense could (as did the pre SB tragedy last year and Mahomes sniffing himself a bit SB week).

I feel like the thing people have a hard time grasping is you could go and get your quarterback and still build towards making a good defense. It is not one or the other this off-season. Your defense is not getting fixed in one off-season.  Somehow people have gotten their mind because we have a bunch of draft picks that our defense is gonna be fixed in one off-season with them.

That's part of the 'tuck rule'.  When the arm goes forward and the ball comes out, it's an incomplete pass.

Most would BUT these GMs and Owners want the "Company" guy. They care more about how they present themselves over how well they call plays.

I agree with that.  They played soft and lost because of it... not because defense doesn't matter.
