It beats up the hands both acutely (hard to hands-catch a pass 1 play after getting crunched) and chronically.  

That begs the question if we should have Goedert blocking so much if he's going to be the #2 pass target on the entire team.  I realize you get mismatches when a TE blocks and must be accounted for in the passing game, but the physical blocking is literally handcuffing him a bit as a receiver...and he's one of 2 guys our offense even targets in the passing game.

I think there might only be 1-2 teams in the entire NFL that would not compete for a SB with an automatic elite QB and elite pass rush upgrade.

I think they'll ask Stoll to do more of the blocking, at which he's very good. I agree that they have to protect Goedert a little more.

Some of this reflects back on Hurts, sad to say. The more we run, the more Goedert has to block and, given Hurts' limitations, that means he has to block a lot.

Bowles stacked the box and dared the Eagles to beat them through the air.  I'm sure the coaches knew it was coming; we knew it was coming.  Our QB can't complete the slants that Aikman kept calling for, he couldn't get the ball to the sideline on 4th down -- should have been a pick.  The RPO's got swallowed up behind the LOS.  Shut down Hurts' running lanes and it's game over for the offense.  Nothing can be done if the QB can't throw. 

Defensively it was the same thing we saw all season against good opposing QBs.  The game was a scrimmage.  31-0 in the 3rd quarter is a scrimmage. 

Yep.  I just can't put any of this on Sirianni aside from his decision to not make a QB change.  The Eagles did their best to run.  It didn't work against a stacked box.  The Bucs dared them to pass.  Then Sirianni stuck to his guns and ran some more...with LOS passes.  And it didn't work.  And then Sirianni finally blinked in his standoff with Bowles...he let Hurts start to pass.  And that's when the bottom fell out and things got even worse.

What the heck was he supposed to do?  Well, there was one thing he could have done...and he didn't do it.  So we can criticize him for that, I suppose.

I think, in an ideal world, the passing game opens up and the #2 WR becomes the #2 passing target.  Goedert is always going to be top 3, but a serviceable slot WR ideally also factors into this.  In that case, maybe you don't have to protect Goedert quite as much and you exploit the mismatches his blocking provides.  But he does need to be protected a bit more in a 2-target offense.

I can't either. I still have visions of MSU's Walker blowing by him time and again. I'm thinking NB, probably, as his best position. If he tests 4.3, which he ran in HS, he could be drafted at safety.

If "the elite QB” is named Aaron Rodgers, then he isn’t wrong. Look at the GB roster. It’s terrible…. plus Davante Adams.

I would love/like to have jaire Alexander, Kenny Clark, Aaron jones, aj dillion, Amos, savage. All are good players. Also Campbell was an all pro this year. I’d take jenkins the lineman too when healthy. Also like stokes the rookie corner.

Nfl scouts gms and coaches aren't drooling over under 6ft LBs that weigh 215lbs.

I know the Eagles lost but I’m talking about the quality of games. NFL branded this last week of football as super wildcard weekend and I thought it was a horrible week of games. Mostly blowouts and the two games that ended closely really wasn’t that close. 
 

Dallas was down big and the game only got interesting with 5:00 left. Cincinnati went down to the wire but In Reality the Bengals was never in doubt of losing that game and they should have been up by 13. 
 

The NFL needs to get rid of the 7th wildcard team because the matchups put to many bad teams vs much better competition. Just my two "cents”

I agree. I hate the 7th seed. It’s nothing but a money grab. And seeing Dallas lose, and lose the way they did made it a glorious weekend IMO. 

The Hurts crowd is delusional.  Some idiot just called 97.5 trying to make the point for Hurts that a game manager with a good team around him can win consistently and win in the playoffs.

I highly enjoyed the Dallas game. And seeing Dallas fans cry and become memes. I could do that every weekend.

It’s sad to say but he does have a big following. Just look at his Twitter and Instagram it’s full of positive messages. Plus it seems like Sirianni is endorsing him as well. 
 

If Sirianni is serious about what he’s saying when it comes to Hurts the. I question him as a head coach.
