PS:  Burrow has an average arm at best. Extremely smart, highly accurate, athletic and a gamer, but he's not going to blow anyone away with his arm strength.

Unless your DB actually catches the bad throw from the QB with the big arm.

Idk maybe Jimmy G shouldn’t go 1-6 for -3 yards and a pick his last two possessions might also help. Jimmy G is exactly what I said to IP a couple weeks ago. Good for 2-3 quarters of a game and then there’s always one quarter (sometimes more) of that game where he’s just not very good. Almost every single playoff game they had that’s exactly what happened. They almost lost the Dallas game because he was bad in the fourth-quarter (ditto for shanahan). The Packers game he was bad the entire first half (4-8 52 yards and a int in the red zone). And then this game he was not good in the fourth-quarter which allowed the Rams to get back into that game.

That defensive back Dropped the ball with Stafford. Meanwhile Jimmy Garoppolo should’ve been picked up by Ramsey as the ball hit him right on the hands on the niners second to last drive. So he could’ve had two interceptions in that fourth quarter if we want to play that game. The Niners gave him the ball with a chance to either take the lead and win the game or tie to game to send it overtime. And he was bad. Granted their oline wasn’t great either as the game got into the 4th

How do you rate Hurts arm in comparison?

Nice words, but in reality it would take about 2.5 seconds for me to get Mike Tyson mad -- if I was dumb enough to want to.

The mofo threw like 6 TDs in each of the NCAA playoff games his last year at LSU.

Lol, not enough spinning around, not enough of a hop step....still has a stronger arm than Hurts

Hard to tell - I'm also checking weather, traffic, stocks, commodity prices and the local news.

For those who discussed afan being a troll yesterday, this is another exhibit of trolling.  Make ludicrous statement, and then not respond to any of the 5 or 6 folks who have a different opinion.

If they do decide to stay with Hurts moving forward, the ceiling for this team is basically what San Francisco did this year. You want to try to rebuild a defense, maintain a good run game, and feed your very good tight end. I do think Goedert will make the jump next season into the top tier section of tight ends.

But in the end, just as the case was with San Fran, you need very good to elite QB play to get you over the hump. And theirs crapped his pants when they needed him most. And for what it’s worth, I think Garoppolo is a better QB than Hurts.

Hurts is the alternate alternate

Willing Jimmy G to Washington

Probably want to get some YAC masters as well, so that Swag neither has to make a read nor throw the ball particularly far.

Compared to Hurts?  This is what I saw from Joe Burrow yesterday:

I think the Bucs make a ton of sense. He’s not going to cost nearly as much as rodgers, watson or Russ will in a trade. And i think with the weapons they have there he’ll have success. Plus that division stinks with the saints having a new head coach and cap issues, falcons and panthers are just not good.

I can not think of a worse schematic fit than Jimmy G in an Arians offense.

I figure to balance fair value/risk the bulk of the trade compensation (picks) should be deferred until 2023 and/or beyond, and contingent upon exoneration.  He's still a freak, but also freaky.

I see what you did there.

IF he is the FO's #1 priority target then I would hope they wait until his legal and civil issues are settled and he's exonerated.  Otherwise that's a big risk they'd be taking even with contingencies on future picks.  You have to consider the worst case scenario, even if it's a remote possibility, in the equation and that conclusion is he'll never play again.  Should it all eventually get resolved I wouldn't want them to give up all three 1st Round picks this draft.  This roster needs too much immediate help.  Giving up 1st Rounders in 2023 and 2024 is tough, but that's probably the cost.

This might be your worst idea yet.

So why is ours a 7 year rebuild like some suggest?

Bengals started their rebuild in 2016. Five straight years of missing the playoffs.

2016:  Boyd WR (55)

2019:  Williams G (11), Sample TE (52), Pratt LB (72), Jordan G (136)

2020:  Burrow QB (1), Higgins WR (33), Wilson LB (65), Adeniji OL (180), Bailey LB (215)

2021:  Chase WR (5), Hill C (190)

12/6/19  claimed Prince G off waivers (sat out 2020)

3/6/20:  Bell SS 3yr/$18M

3/20:  signed D.J. Reader DT 4yr/$53M

3/27/20 signed Waynes CB 3yr/$42M

11/2/20  claimed Spain G off waivers

3/19/21 signed Ogunjobi DT 1yr/$6.2M

I don’t think Arians is a given to be there much longer. Point out plenty of articles claiming Brady wasn’t a great fit for Arians offense even into his first half of the season in 2020. I think if leftwich doesn’t get the jags job, he’s the head coach after 2022. I think he’s more willing to adjust to what QB he has.
