I give up. What’s wrong with RB Dameon Pierce that so many seemingly inferior backs are being ranked ahead of him? I know a lot of people around here have talked about Pierce before. I can see why.

I'm hoping for the big move where DET takes a DE earlier but trades way up for a QB.  We land a 2nd and future 1st.  Of course, why their scouts would be so desperate to move up for a QB while we pass on one given our situation is a weird dynamic.

There are quite a few teams between #6 and 12 that will be looking at QB.  The Steelers #52 pick would allow them to trade up to #12 if going by the trade value chart.  Their offer for #15 might be a 2023 2nd round pick.

I agree Hurts needs to fix a lot in his game to succeed and some may not be fixable.  But do you recall how the defense was getting shredded before Sirianni changed the offense?  I still think some of that change was for the sake of the defense.  So in a way, a better D might open up the offense for whoever is the QB.  

I understand that some have thrown in the towel on Hurts.    (My youth with just arrived from the CFL Warren Moon with the Oilers versus his play later in his career doesn’t kill all hope for improvement.)  Hard for me not to throw in the towel on Reagor.  (Didn’t like him at TCU and loved Jefferson, so maybe I am shaded by my bias.)  Frankly, when asked about Hurts before his draft as a mid round prospect, my response was I didn’t like him because he was a one read and go guy.  Now he is improved on that somewhat but reverts to it way too much.  So I get it.  But thinking this team is a QB away from success isn’t realistic as I see it.  There are plenty of things that can be done to improve the team to bridge it to its next long term QB that will help whoever is at QB.  Maybe not enough but Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl with an elite defense and running game.

Hey if the Bucs need a QB-   I am willing to trade them a Young  Still in his Rookie season QB who I'm told is going to be a TOP QB in the league. 

I am willing to give him up for 1 2nd rd pick.  Still on his rookie contract.

He apprantley has all the intagibles needed: Things that have been said about him recently:

Strong leader, team mates love him, Has Swag, humble, willing to admit his short comings, has great press conferences.  Can run like a RB. Always competes. 

 

 

 

 

 

Some of you are way off on Emerson , best Z CB in the draft , but can play press man , and reroute receivers with his size and physical play , really smart player , with nice smooth feet , tremendous against the run , and a text book tackler , his 4.59 yards per target allowed , second in the sec , only Jobe was better . I take him all day long mid to late rd 2 .

I think they only land Wilson if it is his preferred landing spot.  It could very well be but he would have significant pressure.  Reports are that Cousins is staying with the Vikings which makes sense because they restructured his deal and his dead money would be around $40 million if he was traded. Bridgewater would be a decent pick up for them.

Imagine giving up 3, 1’s for Wilson  only for him to have worse weapons and be 34.  We basically rebuild the Seahawks for them since they actually know how to draft.

Don’t worry I’m sure the eagles haven’t reached on players at positions other than QB in the times we’ve drafted…. 

Some crowd favorites, maybe some new names. Also, incorporates the tradeback that might seem plausible.

In the context of upgrading from Hurts, however, I'm inclined to say

Yes -- Pickett, Strong, Ridder

No -- Willis, Corral, Howell

Ridder seems to have a slow release and some accuracy issues that Corral doesn't have.  My concern about Corral is really his size.  I like Strong but he's not mobile at all.  I could be sold on Pickett but I am concerned about his hand size and arm strength.  I understand the comparisons to Burrow but he reminds me of Goff.  I don't like Willis.  I just think he has too many accuracy issues.  Howell is similar for me.

Please don't try to draw a parallel between Warren Moon and Jalen Hurts.

I went to watch Moon in 1979 and I'll never forget seeing him in pre-game warmups; with little more than a flick of his wrist he could deliver the football 50 yards on a line.  Moon is so far above Hurts in arm talent it's almost like trying to assert Tim Tebow can become John Elway.

Hurts cannot throw with zip; he is physically incapable of doing it.  Hurts cannot anticipate coverages or read defenses pre-snap.  He lacks a plus-arm, he lacks processing ability, and worst of all he's not accurate.  He is what he is, and what he's going to be.
