Extending Epps and Hargrave would make sense.  All of the other players listed would be dumb.  There's no real value to extending Graham, Slay, Johnson or Seumalo.

Glad we’re not generalizing here

Or using racial stereotypes.

Thats fine. I stand by it

If your a company, pays your taxes and takes little to no government assistant, you should hire who you want and and not want.

Sold!

When has a company been told they can't hire who they want for a job?

Is what you really mean that if a company wants to discriminate based on race, then they should be allowed to discriminate based on race?

Ok, so we're back to the idea that a private business should be able to discriminate if they want as long as they pay taxes.  So not a stretch at all...

I love how this topic is only focused on nfl head coaches.

Not linemen, owners, baseball coaches, basketball players, etc.   Our society is trash

Or when you say you're going to hire a black woman as the next Supreme Court Justice without even considering anyone else.   As you pointed out...it's our society.

Then he can sit behind Hurts for a year and learn.......what not to do as a QB.

To be fair, Hurts can do a ton of things he can't from an athletic perspective. But Strong's arm is

Who are they talking about?

Is it even a question?  Watson.  He's the guy who has been tied to Flores for awhile now.

The same guys saying racism isn’t an issue are the same ones who are pissed off at the mere existence of female announcers, referees, coaches, etc. Maybe there’s a trend?

Go through the NFL coaches and assistants and tell me what you find

A lot of former professional and college athletes or relatives of other coaches.

Ok, well don't accuse people of stretching that what your saying is racist when you seem to be abundantly proud of being a racist.

I’m confused.  Very confused.

The Rooney rule is, by the definition of the word, an openly racist interview policy.

It has unquestionably, overtly, resulted in sham interviews for African American candidates in situations where teams were already decided on white candidates.

What’s the question here?

This is what everyone wanted.

Yup, and if you truly attend scripture studies pray that the God that you think has no evidence of his existence opens your heart and reveals himself to you. That said that was a nice deflection of the fact that you try and provide no comfort to people who have lost a loved one and in 20 years (by your own admission) you haven't gone to a funeral home to provide the comfort of people knowing that someone cares enough to show their face.

BTW we all decided that we wouldn't discuss religion or such things in here years ago.

I would hope that loved ones are happy for the person who has passed on to a better place, especially if that person was suffering.  Being happy for that person is externally-focused compassion rather than self focused feelings of loss.  We all have the ability to spend every day with someone regardless of whether they are alive ore passed on to their next existence.

I can agree with the discussion of Religion, but not with discussion of religion.  I see Religion as a bunch of human rules mucking up perfectly good spirituality ... with spirituality and religion being synonymous with one another.

So part of the problem with proving discrimination is that it is not often documented that someone is getting fired because they are of a particular race.   Whereas pedophiles tend to actually do things like get digital images of pedophilia or actually abuse a person.  I also think people get far too defensive about what is really just our potential biases in decision making. However, maybe Stephen Ross is in this video:

I mean I think he's Jewish but maybe NSDAP's are trying to shift their beliefs.

It is hard to prove discrimination or racism at times. As it should be. The burden of proof is always on the accuser. Regardless, no one should be punished without proof. That isn't justice. And there's a difference between saying "someone told me they didn't hire me because I was black" and "they didn't take the interview seriously and it may be because I was black." The former at least even if you can't provide documentation of it, you have someone's word indicating blatant racism. But a lot of accusations of racism are completely baseless assumptions based on the individual's own interpretation.

No, this was in 2019.  My guess is it was Tom Brady.

Next rule will be a quota of minority employees for the sake of "fairness"

Um.

A) it says 2019 which would be well before Watson said he wanted out, and would be a huge tampering story.

B) If he’s tied to Flores then why would Flores be storming out of a meeting after seeing him?

Black players make up more than 50% of the NFL, but they aren’t close to that in the coaching or FO ranks. I don’t think we can ignore the statistics and just say it’s cause white guys are nerds and black guys are more athletic.

By this logic, whites make up a much larger % of the US population, so why aren’t there more white football players in the NFL?

That’s what the dual 3rd round pick reward is designed to address.  Stack your staff with minorities in hopes of promotions that earn your team picks.

Segregation was still a thing when most of the owners were young adults. It’s a tough situation to be in, and there may need to be a different approach other than the Rooney rule to get it sorted out.

I think you have to look at how many WANT to be coaches.  How many stories do you hear about retired athletes buying car washes, franchising restaurants, running used car lots.  The easy retirement life, or they don't know any better.  Invest/lose your millions post playing career.

How many players come from poor, underprivileged areas with horrible educations and only get in to college based 100% on their athletic talent?  Are those players who have the mindset and drive to get in to coaching once their careers are over or do they go back to what they know and where they come from.

Just look at Michael Vick.  Despite his millions, he still insisted on living his lifestyle because that's what he grew up with and was raised on.  It took drastic events for him to learn that he can be better and there is more outside of his VA Beach upbringing.  Now you see him involved and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get in to college coaching down the road.  If he never got arrested I bet once he retired he would have gone right back to his roots.

I'm also not saying this is EVERY black player but I think so many do come from less than ideal circumstances and educations that it has to have some effect on what they want to do when they can't play anymore.

I find it interesting the Eagles decided to use this picture in their tweet. I for one would not be disappointed if the was drafted in Philly.

Like I said.  Watson would have been tampering.

Wouldn’t even make sense to be Watson since all this was before he signed an extension with the Texans.

When an owner sells their team to a minority buyer for a discount, I’ll start taking their racial pandering seriously.  32 for 32 white.  Does Lurie have any comments on that?

We have the Rooney rule so they don’t have to answer for themselves.

Pitre looking good at sr bowl practice from what I’m reading , some team will be getting a stud

Color me shocked
