I don’t think we get any priority WR with Hurts at QB, but I hope so. Hopefully we get the QB situation fixed.

If I told you right now the Eagles will draft ONE (only one) UGA player in this coming draft -- who would you take, and with which pick?  Go ahead and choose a top 3, and bold the one player you want the Eagles to draft (in the draft slot he's likely to go -- drafting Dean at #121 is not a constructive answer):

Nakobe Dean -- ILB

Jordan Davis -- DT

Lewis Cine -- FS

Adam Anderson -- OLB

Derion Kendrick -- CB

Travon Walker -- DE

Jamaree Salyer -- OG

George Pickens -- WR

James Cook -- RB

Channing Tindall -- LB

Quay Walker -- ILB

Devonte Wyatt -- DT

Zamir White -- RB

Jordan Davis.

Quay Walker.

George pickens

You're nabbing him right at #15/16 and taking no chances waiting to 19, I take it?

Agreed.  Guys want targets, and they are not going to get them.  We are not even gonna get guys who want 1 year prove it deals with Hurts as the QB

I guess it depends on how the board falls but I'd have no problem taking him at 15/16

A conspiracy theorist would find the timing of the Flores story/Broncos sale to be mighty coincidental.

The richest black man in America is from Denver. Apparently has no interest in buying the team, but interesting nonetheless.

Ok.   I haven't looked into the Flores' allegations beyond the Giants.   I have a hard time believing that the Broncos would do that Elway or anyone else would do that sort of thing... but maybe that's my bias.   I expect that each team would purport themselves respectfully, even if the interview is just a formality to meet a quota (not saying that it was, however).   But, if it is... I think that they would be extra careful to not give off that intention and would make sure to dot their i's and cross their t's.

I have no idea whether it's true or not. You would think people would choose candidates they actually would consider for the job.

Unless they're told the Eagles are preparing to draft a viable QB, that could entice some FA WR's. You'd have to think their agents would be asking about the Eagles plans.

@Iggles_Phan your dream

I think people get sensitive about the issue.  The reality is that there are still large racial gaps in this country that carry across other measures such as education and experience.  The analogy that I have learned which I think is a good way to understand the problem is that of a fishes and a lake.  If you see one dead fish in a lake, you think there's a problem with the fish.  If you see hundreds of dead fish in the lake,  you think there is a problem with the lake.  Racial disparities that continue across other controls are indicative of systemic issues.  Now some people look at the lake and say well those kinds of fish are just known to die easily and they need to be in another lake by themselves.  I think those people don't realize that all of the fish share the same genetic make up.

Let's assume there are equally  80 candidates for a job of whom 12 are minorities. Your company plans to interview 15 people for this position. If you were to just to do the math if opportunities were equal, you would assume that out of the 15 applicants at least 2 would be minorities.

Your company along with others in your industry has a history of discrimination.   You want to help fix the impact of discrimination because  you think that's a good business decision and morally correct.  To fix that problem, you are mandating that at least one applicant interviewed be a minority.  For the 14 applicants that are white, the person making the hiring decision shows up well dressed and spends a full day with the applicant.  For the minority candidate, the person shows up late, hungover in a t-shirt.  The interview lasts an hour.  Maybe the person doing the interview doesn't think he's racist.  He has a lot of black friends and eats tacos on Tuesday.  What is that one minority candidate going to think about the reason the interviewer showed up hungover, in a t-shirt and the interview lasts an hour when he knows he was the only one that had that experience?

Yeah, so like I said interview the person you are interested in regardless of race, religion, sexual preference, blah, blah, blah and stop wasting the other fishes time.

I can't find the exact text of the Rule but I can't see anywhere that it specifies any race type but these were the policy recommendations:

 make a commitment to interview minority candidates for every head coaching job opening (unless the team had already made a prior commitment to hire a person from within its own staff);

 establish a coordinator/assistant head coach databank to assist NFL teams in the consideration of qualified coaching candidates; and

 allow early interview opportunities for assistant coaches of playoff teams

You may be right about the Rooney rule as when Troy Vincent announced it, he included mentioning women.  Not clear how they establish what classifies as a minority though but it may well be more inclusionary than as it is typically referred to in the media.  But what Flores suit proposes as injunctive relief is not inclusionary.

Can you imagine going from a pass heavy offense with Brady to a run heavy offense with Hurts?

I can't imagine any top receivers would willingly go into that situation.

Godwin next year will only be 26, younger than Dallas Goedert. Godwin and Marcus Williams would be the only FAs worth splurging on due to their age, in my opinion.

I'd take a risk on Chark too...but again, their desire to come here will be limited if Hurts remains the starter.

Walker is my choice as well.  I'm split between Cine and Kendrick at #2

I'd be a little nervous signing Godwin after tearing both the ACL and MCL.

With Hurts we need more RB and linemen.

You're basing your conclusion on the fact the kid has played his entire college career on bad knee.  It's been a hindrance for him since he didn't get the proper surgery since his HS senior year. He did get the proper surgery before this past season started.  He was supposed to wait 10 months before playing again and he was on the field in less than 6 with a knee brace basically playing on one leg.  Of course he looked stiffed.  And one of the things that has been repeatedly said to be one of his better attributes is his pocket presence and his subtle movements in the pocket to buy time.

Cadaver tissue is not a simple treatment. It is an extreme treatment with reinjury tendencies and residual pain per the abstracts I have read.  I worry about how the knee will hold up in the long term.

Because most of us recognize that Hurts isn't the answer. And most of us are hopeful we move on from him, as soon as possible. So it's worth discussing which WR's we could target.

They 100% need another receiving threat. Goedert is the only legit receiving threat taller than 6 foot. They need more height at the position to help in the RZ and move the chains. I don't care if Hurts is the QB next year, you build the team for the future and he is not in their long term plans.

I just like the fact that our president is only picking someone for our highest court based on race lol

Supreme court is a sham anyway, it's supposed to be a bi partisan body yet we all know it's anything but...

Our receivers aren't good though. Smith, then Quez but I don't see him as a full time outside starter. We are weak in this area. I wouldn't mind addressing defense and a RG this off-season though and then kicking the can on WR to next year.

Yes, we absolutely do...whether Hurts stays or not. Watkins is a #3, JJAW is gone, Reagor sucks, and Ward might be resigned but is slightly above average in the slot. Can't roll with just Smith and Goedert. They need a #2 with some size.
