Another opportunity for the JG man.

I think Gannon’s best chance is the Texans job.  MIN has done second interviews with Graham, Raheem Morris, and O’Connell.  No mention of Gannon having more than one at this point.  If O’Connell gets hired by the Vikings, it’s down to Gannon and McCown for the Texans job.

Edit — and Brian Flores, of course.

Thank god for us Lowie does not care what you think, it is right their in my signature.

Thank God he doesn't care what you think either.

Howie got burned reaching for need, look for him to be more disciplined about BPA. He's even admitted it.

I think that will extend to QB, unless his scouts and Sirianni fall in love with one of the QBs, they're off the board in the 1st rd.

And while he values LB and S less than linemen, again, if he sticks to BPA, it'll depend who is on the board.

I like Gunter a lot as a late round target.

Yup, we have his teammate already in Tarron Jackson. Gunter is better.

What’s the word on Strong this week?

There you go again with those undefined "conservative values”.  Not sure what decisions you reference where they have gone against those undefined "conservative values.”  Perhaps you could offer the citation?

Exactly how do you define "best person” for the job of Supreme Court Justice.  This country already has a tendency to limit the job to lawyers.  Are those necessarily the best legal or Constitutional scholars alone?  Most lawyers don’t practice Constitutional law.

Is it being a Catholic conservative?  We have five and a half of those on the Court (Gorsuch raised Catholic. Now goes to an Episcopal church).  Plus Sotomayor is Catholic. That hurts diversity. Breyer and Kagen are Jewish. Heck, if we consider Gorsuch a Protestant, he is the only one on the Court.  Agnostics and Atheists make up more of the nation, yet are unrepresented on the Court.

Should there be a need to have been a prosecutor?  One potential candidate suggested by the media has been a public defender.  That background would suggest a view perhaps uncommon on the Court.  Does diversity equate to a better bench?  One would think so.  So what exactly makes a best candidate?  And why weren’t you complaining when Kavanaugh and Barrett were nominated adding two more Catholics to the bench.  All Biden’s promise is seen as is an attempt to offer more diversity to the Court.  Broadening the view is never a bad thing.

And what is qualified. "Conservatives" (most labelled conservative these days are reactionaries or libertarians) bridled against ABA rankings, so should we use the Federalist Society instead?

Roberts is an institutionalist, he's opposed to an activist Court that willy-nilly overturns precedent to push a desired policy outcome - because it will diminish the stature of the Court. I think he's convinced Kavanaugh of the same. The four hard right Justices put their policy preferences over good constitutional law and the Court's legitimacy. Roberts prefers to gradually move the law toward what he perceives as better judgements, without creating a dynamic that will create contempt for the Court's rulings. Thus he tries to preserve respect for precedent, but narrow the scope of past rulings.

The "Left" depended on the Court to push their agenda without courting public opinion, now the "Right" is doing the same. Neither is good for the country.

Congress, not the Supreme Court, should be writing law, but the inability to negotiate and compromise has left Congress impotent. So instead of fixing vague statutes, it's left to Administrative Agencies and Courts to fill in the blanks.

Right, Texans is his only chance. I was responding to the post if Rhule leaves the Panthers, that maybe they would have interest. But it seems as though he will be staying put since Harbaugh is returning to Michigan.

Some olympics events have already started for anyone interested.  Curling on USA network right now.

That's right Sirrianni was in Indy with him.

Makes sense, he's a bigger Greg ward slot type.

Wouldn't be mad with Pascal as long as the money is reasonable.

Lower catch rate for Pascal is a concern.

From what I heard, not great

Smaller hands than expected

Giants might actually have a strong coaching staff for the first time in 10ish years

Pascal had a really bad season this year, but was that partially due to the departure of Siri?

But I wouldn't pay much to find out.

Bummed to see this.  I was excited to see him return to the NFL and thought the Vikings were a good spot for him.  He could have instantly taken control of that division with Rodgers likely leaving it.  I wonder if this will open up a chance for Doug to get a second interview there.  I think Doug would also be a good hire that would take control of that division once Rodgers is traded.

NM I guess, they hired someone.

Eh jury is still out on Daboll. There’s a long list of guys who were great co-ordinators  but poor HCs.

But you’re right, the giants are at least making good hires, we’ll see if they pan out. They have some good talent at Wr, Saquon should be better, Danny Dimes has a lot to prove. Should be interesting.

Also thanks to Flores for removing himself from contention.

I can't see how this FO would pick Safeties or Linebackers rather than Defensive Line in the first round.

Not happening.

Well they changed around the rankings on TDN, so poof the DL are gone. Any QB you want though, smh.

Decent young man.  Plays violent.   Had tough deal at home.  Went to Coastal.  Left and went back to NC State to be close to home.  Then went back to Coastal.  I still don’t see much at the next level with him.  I’d rather not get another project from the same school.

He’s worth a roll of the dice in the 6th.

Daboll is a great candidate from the perspective of us fans.

A raw, talented QB transformed on his watch, as did their overall offense.  He spent years with the Patriots under Belichick, spent time under Saban too.  SB rings and an NCAA national championship.

He could be the worst HC the division has seen in ages, but he checks boxes.

Of course, even if Daboll is a qb whisperer, he still needs someone to whisper to.  Danny Dimes ain't it for anyone.

Could be a big fall out if this Flores stuff is true. Plus other coaches like Hue Jackson saying the same stuff happened to him in Cleveland.
