My point is that all the QBs available in the draft this year are projects and may be overvalued by desperate teams or maybe not. Crum was the top QB in the MAC the last two years. He is a project. Good size and good arm. I was a little down on him after the A&M game but that defense gave a lot of SEC QBs grief.

February 3, 20223 yr Malik Willis runs about as much as Hurts does, plays against scrubs, is less dynamic running with the ball, and even less accurate throwing it. You can ruin a QB by starting them too soon. So this year, probably third string. Player in open competition the second year and loser replaces Minshew. Might be a two year sit. There has been real success from sitting QBs. Mahommes, Romo, Rodgers, Favre, Warner, etc. The rebuild won’t be finished this draft so that allows the project to grow into the role.

February 3, 20223 yr 1 hour ago, NCiggles said: I think the point of the rule isn't to have sham interviews but actual interviews with actual candidates who are minorities. If every other person interviewed for the job is white and is given a serious interview, it might be a problem both in terms of compliance with the NFL's own rule and a discrimination claim. Flores doesn't need a smoking gun to prove intent. He needs a combination of anecdotal and statistical evidence. The $100,000 payments are problematic for the owner. Florio discussed whether the payments could violate Federal sports bribery laws. There is also a Florida anti-sports bribery law that is broader and probably applicable in my view. Money is hard to hide if the person you gave it to wants to prove they got it from you. You are discussing this from different sides. You are discussing the intent of the rule, which is the theory. He is discussing the reality of the coaching carousel. There's no legal tampering period where you can meet with coaches, but not officially sign anyone. So, you are competing with all the other teams that have vacancies at the same time. So, if you get the first guy you want to come in for an interview first, and he wows you... you can't officially sign him until you've met the quota of coaches to meet the Rooney Rule requirement. And in the meantime, you watch that coach go to other teams and interview elsewhere. To teams that might have already met that criteria and could sign him immediately. So, how is a team to handle that? Handshake and wink agreements when the coach leaves and then the team has to go through the process with other candidates, knowing they've already locked in the one they want. For me, the Giants situation doesn't seem like anything other than the reality of the new GM wanting to bring in a guy he was familiar with over a guy he had less familiarity with. He brought in Daboll for 2 interviews and Frazier for 2 interviews... and in the midst of that was looking at some other candidates, but I think that was more due diligence, I think his decision was made when he took the GM job, and the leaning toward offensive HC put the bullseye pretty squarely on Daboll. He'd have had to really screw it up to not get the job. That doesn't mean it was racially motivated. It was network and philosophy driven. The biggest question that remains for me on the race of head coaches is why are there so few minority OCs... that seems to be where the vast majority of HC candidates are coming from, so that's the pipeline that needs to be addressed. I think the bribery for losses accusation is the far more damaging one for the NFL.

Yes, a lot of making something out of nothing, but his line is atrocious and he gets a lot of immediate pressure. But the throws he makes from a clean pocket are pretty darn good. Throws guys open, with anticipation, unlike Hurts who does not throw with any anticipation or until guys are open, which is usually to late to make the throw.
