Or... it took Doug 49 days to realize he wasn't getting a better option.  🤷‍♂️

Yeah, the only problem is he's like an actor trying to resurrect his career with another risky movie.

@LeanMeanGM

I know you were joking when you brought  up Dulcich the other day, and while I haven’t watched him, Daniel Jeremiah called him a riser. He said he looks more explosive than the CSU tight end. His stats look good, especially his long gains.

Gotta admit, I didn't think he'd get hired as a HC.  Hopefully he does well as not many have in Jacksonville.

I can't imagine Stout would consider leaving here to go to Jacksonville. Talk about a step backwards.

Thankfully the NFL is racist towards O-Line coaches and running game coordinators or the Eagles would of lost him a few years ago when he got a HC job.

Everything I’ve read and listened too so far has this list just about right.

I didn’t know Strong had cadaver cartilage put in his knee last January or February. Jay Ajayi slid to the 5th round because of his knee injury, Mills fell last year for the same reason.  Strong may be there for the Eagles in the 2nd round.
I also didn’t expect the Senior Bowl to be renamed "The Malik Willis Show”, now whether his showing changes his draft placement, that remains to be seen. When you can launch passes in a windy rainstorm like Willis has done, every scout and GM stops what they’re doing to come watch the show. Almost every draft pundit/expert etc.. has said the same thing, his arm talent is equal to Josh Allen’s and some think Willis gets better spin on the ball.  His talent has been the talk of the SB.
Sam Howell has done a lot grunting on longer throws especially to the sidelines, which has some scouts believing he’s trying to keep up with Willis, and it shows poorly with his mechanics and accuracy.
Pickett has been as expected, accurate, good leadership, great touch on the ball, but his passes were dying in the wind/rain weather.
Zappe has impressed with his arm strength, it’s not nearly as bad as some predicted and a timing, anticipation passer like him was always gonna struggle in this setting because of his unfamiliarity with his new teammates.

I haven’t been following the senior bowl but is Willis really getting comps to Josh Allen? Would think Houston at three (or even Detroit) starts to become a real option for him then if so.

Read a little bit about him the other day. Sounded like a typical Day 3, high floor low ceiling guy. Walk on WR in a Chip Kelly offense. Seems like he’s pretty well rounded just nothing that stands out.

Willis is all the rage. QBs get over-drafted anyways, but he might get way way over-drafted.

I will laugh my ass off if after all the talk about this being a bad QB class, he ends up a top 3 pick.

He’s getting comped to "pre draft” Josh Allen. Physical talent is there but raw and a major project.

One thing that did surprise me was that all the draft analyst said he clearly had more arm talent than Carson Strong.

I thought Willis had a good arm, but apparently it's elite level. Needs major work though.

Willis to me feels a little like an Allen project. Really good athlete, really really good arm, has the tools there but needs a lot of work and the right situation. That's not to say he will become the next Allen but feels similar.

I wish DP the best, really do. Nice guy that gave us what we all wanted most.

But damn the Jags.. he sure got his work cut out for him.

Watching Cosell on the Herd, he is not impressed with Strong.

- Said his arm talent is good, but not great.

- Moves incredibly slow, even in the pocket.

- Needs extraordinary protection to be successful.

- Said his comp is Kyle Trask.

Ouch.

Love what I’m hearing about Christain Watson at Senior bowl Practice. That guy is gonna be a stud.

I agree with you for the real world, but the NFL is such a tight fraternity... only 32 places to go and they just dance around and turn over every 3 or 4 years it seems, so if you can't get the job now... who knows where the next opening might pop up when you need it.

I don't know about Foles, but I was just thinking how similar Lawrence and 2017 Wentz are.

all that does is reinforce Doug's limited NFL experience.  What the hell does that even mean?  Wentz and Foles combined are the best comparison?  What??

Doug had to take that Jags job because he wasnt getting another one.  Either that or he's just a glutton for punishment.

The upside with a job like this is low expectations though. If he improves it will be seen as a big achievement, if not most won‘t blame him.

Bad comp , Trask navigated the pocket beautiful with the Gators , he was calm cool and collected back there , nice foot work , he was mobile enough to give the receivers times , and was good throwing on the move ,

Just a awful comp , cosell is like DJ , they at times put stuff out there to get you talking .

imo

I would be scared to draft Willis, but I'd get it. If you HIT on him, ceiling is top 5. That's worth a swing.

Taking a RD1 swing on Strong? Howell? Ridder? Why.

Agree on this, but I just can't get past that schedule he played.

I’m happy for Doug. Sunshine and low expectations made that a good spot for him. The Jags have talent, they just don’t have an identity.

Oh, they have an identity... just not one that they want to embrace.

Meh, schedule is a non factor when evaluating qbs, a guys arm strength isn't going to decrease with a harder schedule nor is his accuracy or decision making or ability to navigate the pocket

Only difference is passing windows may be a little smaller which one can adjust to.

Plenty of qbs throughout the years from small schools that have been successful in the NFL and if they weren't had nothing to do with them coming by From a small school

I worry about Willis because he's short for a QB.
