Hard pass on Wilson.

Yep.

If he were to randomly come cheap, perhaps. Hell, even if we would have a good team around him. At what he'd cost and at his age? No thanks.

You give Howie way too much credit.

Howie is indisputably one of the best maneuvering around the board on draft day. His strength is predicting what other teams are going to do.

Doesn't mean he doesn't miscalculate at times, but has a good track record of moving up and down and garnering value.

Pictures can also be very deceiving.  He's 5-10 220.  Solid but nothing that screams this guy is a tank.  Perfectly time photo in full flex.

Also, not taking anything away from the kid.  Guessing he's 17 in that picture.  He's absolutely rocked up.  Georgia knows running backs so it will be fun to see what he can do.

Retiring in about 27 years so I put my name on the list today.

This Earth will be long gone before you get your number called. Wait list last heard was over a 70 year wait. your only chance is to buy a seat license off someone. Or if you want to pay the extra price for club seats that you can get now. Will run you around 6k-7k a year for 2 seats.

Good Luck, lol.

Bull.

Just last offseason, we heard the owner talking about how Howie had identified the right players, but other teams had grabbed his targets before he could grab them.  So, either he knows what they are going to do and can't find a good option for when his list of targets are gone.  Or, he didn't want to pay the price and couldn't get to the spot he needed to, but that just means it falls back on option 1... if you are picking at 20, you need enough targets to not run out when your turn comes.  Or more likes, that's just 100% owner speak to cover up Howie's poor drafting record, in the exact area that they have 3 picks this year.

I look forward to 3 of these types of selections: Jalen Reagor, Andre Dillard, Derek Barnett or similar.

What a glorious look.  Loved Zordich in his short time here.  One of my favorite veteran signings they've ever had. @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! as you mentioned a while back, you can tell this is when they actually had sewn on numbers instead of the screen print.

Howie treats the draft like a game where the goal is to get the most " value" from a pick.

If there's a guy they have graded in the 2nd round and Howie gets him in the fourth he thinks he's won the draft.

Winning the draft is about finding players though not trying to pull one over on everyone else, it's not a card game or a game show and while Howie may be good at playing the value game he hasnt been as good at getting actual talent.

He's been good at getting middling talent.  Elite talent?   Pretty much not at all.  Other teams have... almost all of them, at a place after the Eagles' first pick, so we can just dismiss immediately that whole false narrative that Lurie wanted to sell that they couldn't land the talent because they went before the Eagles' choice.

Huh?  Rockets wanted to keep him.  Nets want to keep him but are probably aware at this point that he does not have interest in re-signing with them after this season.

Which is all meaningless at the end of the day if he can't get high end talent.

Yup, how many of his draft picks from 2017 are still on the team???

Zero nada Zip.

2018 is his best draft with Goedert, Maddox Sweat, and Mailata with Mailata the best pick but more a product if stout than Howie

Goedert has been up and down Maddox is a nickel and sweat a situational pass rusher.

I think Mailata is going to be elite, the other 3 not so much.

2019 ugggg, this is also the draft Lurie said he wanted to draft a QB so they could develop him ( at the QB factory) and flip him for higher picks. Clayton thorson didn't make it out of camp.

2020 some good back ups, but first two picks were spent on reagor and hurts, that should get most gms fired.

2021 draft looks promising so far hopefully Lurie stays out if this draft and Howie actually finds some players not just draft value

If the rockets and nets wanted him they wouldn't trade him

They were respecting the wishes of a franchise legend that wanted a new start instead of entering rebuild with a new GM since Morey had left the summer before that season.

Nets for sure want him but it's become increasingly clear through reports over the past several weeks that Harden wants out and will likely leave in free agency after the season anyway and the Nets would then lose out on any return unless they did a sign and trade.  And even then they would get less in a sign and trade than a trade right now during the season.  They can't risk just letting him walk after the season after all that they gave up to get him.
