If you need to win against a winning team, he won't get that done

Thus why he is a backup not a starter

He said that was usual excitement over making your pick (I’m not necessarily buying that). I think they clearly wanted Jefferson, but there’s absolutely no reason for him to say Reagor or Aiyuk would have been the pick. He could have said Aiyuk would have been the pick while also complimenting Reagor on being a fine prospect. He didn’t.

Dont want to make your peers look dumb and burn a bridge

The Vikings GM said they would have taken Reagor or Aiyuk if Jefferson was gone.

The Saints were going to to take Jefferson or Reagor if they were there too.

Howie missed on the pick, but the idea that Reagor was some 3rd round prospect is revisionist history.

Yes, we lost a game b/c he hit Reagor twice. So much for "wide open receivers."

Clearly you don’t watch the wideouts much, and definitely not the all-22.

You can very easily dance around that question without saying you would have taken Reagor at that spot. He was pretty open and honest throughout that podcast about his hits and misses.

There it is.

3 years from now Hurts won't be in the league

He'll likely bounce around ala Tyrod Taylor.

Very few backups can do that... the goal with the backup is to not hurt you when you have to start them for a couple weeks during the season and let the rest of your team carry them.   He can do that.  But, no... he's not a Nick Foles level backup who could hit a hot streak and out duel anyone.

All you have to do is look at each team’s backup QB situation. Hurts will be a bad starter in all likelihood, but he certainly has a place in the NFL long term.

I agree.

I remember when guys used to actually tackle each other in the pro bowl. This is straight garbage. They should just cancel the game and have it just be in name, like all pro, then have skill challenges.

NFL should be embarrassed honestly.

I'd still rather roll with Minshew as the QB and build up the team through the draft. Hurts has not earned it to be starter IMO. Minshew hasn't either but I feel the passing game gets hindered with Hurts in

Yep...at the very least, let them compete in OTA and TC.  I posted their career stats earlier and Minshew is better than Hurts in every passing category.  The important thing like you alluded to, is he's going to help the passing game and players around him.

Let's say both QB's get the Eagles to 9-8.  Would you rather be 9-8 riding Hurts legs or 9-8 with Minshew getting Smith, Watkins, Goedert and Gainwell involved in the passing game?   I'd much rather scenario 2.

glad there is a resolution there.

Dont mind seeing him here for a 2nd year. Time to continue to bring him some more of the players he really wants to implement his system the way he wants to.

Gray can fly.

I knew Velus was a big play guy but I didnt think he actually looked that fast.

Christian Watson hitting 20 at his size is fantastic. I wish he would have broken the 21 mark, but still damn good at that size.

Danny Gray has seemed like a borderline UDFA, and now should firmly be inside the draft.

These are all offense. Dont they do this for D?

Totally agree that there should be a fair QB competition, but 9-8 is still 9-8.  Whatever rapport gained with the receivers from using Minshew would be lost when a new QB takes his place.

Honestly it has been  years since I watched a Pro Bowl.  So when did it become two-hand touch?

Good.  I think he did a good job with so little talent.  Hope Weidl listens to his wants and Howie doesn’t try to be too clever in delivering it.

Just to put Gray’s 22.05 mph in perspective, here are the fastest speeds of all ball carriers in 2021.

I’m not sure if Gray was carrying the ball or if it was during a route.

Takes more than speed to make a good WR.  Give me routes, body control, quickness and hands.

Maybe.  Not sure we know Gannon’s desires at this point.

Henry Ruggs should not be included on this list.

There is no building without a QB. You’re working off a false premise. We all know Hurts has proven to not be "the guy” in both college and the NFL.

Not only is he not physically gifted enough… during the TB playoff game the other team was screaming, "HE CAN’T READ A DEFENSE!” They we’re both extremely happy and in disbelief.

Not sure why ppl refuse to understand this. We are only pointing out major causes for concern in a QB. His supporters get mad and cry to defend him. We all watched the same games I hope 😅.

What did hurts do consistently as a QB/passer that gives anyone realistic projection of him being a top 10 QB or carrying any team to the SB?
