Jim Schwartz led this Eagles defense with many of the same players to a 15th overall DVOA finish against a slate of better QBs and getting way less help from a terrible offense...

I get that Gannon is impressive in press conferences and maybe he'll make a great CEO-type head coach one day but what is everyone else seeing that I'm not?

Better QBs? Go look at who we faced last year.

The pass rush under schwarz was better.

The secondary, and limiting big plays was much improved under Gannon.

If Jim Schwartz goes to the Giants, he's going to have a load of talent to work with.  The Giants, are a step below Dallas when it comes to drafting on defense.  They love long, athletic guys but haven't had coaches to take advantage of what they can do.

If he goes to NYG, he has players on every level that are better than what the Eagles have.

Nothing to be scared of but he could put together a very good defense there with a serious pass rush.

Side note, when did Jaylon Smith sign with the Giants?

Sounds like it’s going to be Wilks for Giants

Denial.  It never happened.  Or, that's not what the DC was referring to.

It is both very telling and embarrassing that the opposing DC was pointing out to his D players (and in an excited manner) that the QB can't read their D and figure out what to do.  His reaction was genuine as was his enthusiasm in alerting his players to it.

All any DC has to do to make Hurts perform poorly:

1-Stack the box with 8 defenders within 5 yards of the LoS to neutralize the running game.

2-Shut off Hurts' running lanes so he can't get outside the pocket.

3-Roll coverage to Hurts' right side and try to force him to throw to his left.

It really is just that easy.

Yo but did you see his deadlift?!? Work ethiczzz

Right after his knee disintegrated and everyone else realized that sadly he would never play up to his pre-injury potential.

They were terrible.

Any QB above the level of the average EMB poster had a field day against them.

I wonder if a year as a consultant or whatever with the Titans gave him a breather to look around the league and see the benefits of two-high coverage.

He loved the single-high look for run fits and to help take away higher percentage throws over the middle. Like you said, it was prone to big plays because we also happened to not have good enough talent in the secondary.

He’ll be retaining the defensive staff it sounds like. We’ll see how close to Shanahan he is as a playcaller I guess.

Laughable how McCown gets to skip every step of the way. He shouldn‘t even be interviewed for HC.

And if anyone thinks he‘d get that chance if he was black he‘s a damn fool.

This is not about ‚it should be a black coach‘. This is about McCown having zero coaching experience and still getting every opportunity - showing very clearly what remains injust and biased.

This is moronic. Backup qbs often make decent coaches bc they are smart. And not like the texans can attract a proven commodity.

We’re both well aware. What’s you’re point?

Reagor sucks. He was also never, ever getting past pick 45. Why must people always lie about obvious things just to try to win an argument?

Lie? Not quite sure where I lied lol

Weird hiring cycle - one guy never played, another never coached.

They were ok. Wait till there is enough time to recruit the type of talent he wants to make his scheme work.
