If they hire Lovie, I bet McCown would be the OC so they can groom him.

And he should be a coordinator somewhere before he gets to be a HC.

My take from the Senior bowl week, Im comfortable taking WR Christian Watson in RD1

Ridder is still my favorite QB but I wouldn’t take any of these QB RD1. If Ridder is around in RD3 I’d take him.

Hit pass rushers early and often. Might be the strength of this years draft.

Thus why he is a backup not a starter

You need to be able to win against anyone if you are the back-up. See Nick Foles, Jeff Garcia, Feeley, ect, ect

Very few backups can do that... the goal with the backup is to not hurt you when you have to start them for a couple weeks during the season and let the rest of your team carry them.   He can do that.  But, no... he's not a Nick Foles level backup who could hit a hot streak and out duel anyone.

Nope

The only one of these QBs still available in R3 will be Zappe. All of these guys need a year on the bench, but I’m happy to roll the dice on Ridder. His only real problem is inconsistency.

You’re completely dismissing the fact it was his first season, though. He did a better job than McDermott and Todd Bowles in their first years and they’re two of the league’s best.

That being said, I hate his defensive philosophy and wish he was gone.

Bowles was given only 5 or 6 games in mid season after they fired Juan. As a DC you cant change an entire scheme mid season with only a handful of games left.

I still felt at the time they gave Bowles a raw deal. I wanted to give him a full year to put in his system. Joke turned on the Eagles.

But I agree, Gannon's scheme has been pathetic. I don't want to hear we dont have enough talent or they did so well in the last 5 games of the reg season when it was against practice squad QBs.  I wanted Vic Fangio and honestly I think the Eagles FO was hoping Gannon was going to get a HC gig.

They didn't need to hope.  They could have fired him and replaced him.  But he did a fine job.  There was no reason to.

There is no way Texans GM is making these calls , he is pretty sharp ,these decisions are coming from above

*clears voice*  whether you want to hear it or not, there isn't enough talent on defense.

Lovie Smith did a great job with the Texans D last year. They were devoid of difference-makers and still were competitive. Smith has also been to a SB and has had sustained success. If Pep Hamilton is the OC, they might be in good shape coaching-wise. Their problem is their front office. When drafting for the Texans in mock drafts, be sure to focus on those with deep Christian ties (ex: Davis Mills).

That's what, booze, steroids, and being spoiled your whole life does for you. Que Meat McGinley on how steroids aren't that bad for you but meat is.

That's of course if he did start it.

Seriously. If Kamara isn’t there, who the heck would want that job compared to any other opening? It was bad enough before this happened.

Christian Watson is a shoe-in.

They could have retained their HC, kept Lovie DC and promoted Pep Hamilton to OC and avoided all the nonsense over the past month.

No doubt the front office/ownership stinks, but landing on a guy who went 8-24 at his last NFL stop and then 17-39 in college is an embarrassment no matter how you slice it.

He should probably come to a real city like Philadelphia and bring Hopkins with him.

Murray and Hopkins for Hurts and Reagor. Best offer they'd get.

(I'm kidding)

I’m more concerned with how he rushed back early then the actual procedure.

Lovie didn't do a thing at Illinois either.  He went 17-39.  If the Texans really want to go with a minority coach, why not DeMeco Ryans?  He'd be going back to the team that drafted him and is going to be a good HC.  He's just a leader.  Would love if he coached in some capacity for the Eagles.

Watson will be drafted in the 3rd round, earliest.

Kyler Murray trade is something I'd get behind.

You think they'd do Hurts, Reagor and a 1?

Texans just need some sacrificial lamb to show up and lose 15 games as a head coach and get fired.  They've gone from 'contender' to 'absolute joke' in 3 seasons.  Seriously, not even BB could fix that franchise.

Kyler Murray is ideal if you wish to be in QB purgatory with a guy who isn’t good enough to give you a deep playoff run, yet counts $40M+ against your salary cap every year.

There isn’t any reason ARI would be moving him.  If there is, it makes acquiring him an even worse move
