Texans owner McNair who everyone seems to think is racist has hired more black coaches in the last 2 years than some have in the last 20. But I'm sure the narrative will be "But he only did it because he didn't want to be perceived as discriminatory"

You see how the race baiting grift game is played.

Nice cutting of the quote there ESPN.

To be honest, I don’t think the full context changes the abbreviated portion all that much. If even at all.

He's held the legitimate single-season HR record for more than 60 years.  It's the most prestigious record in the sport.

Yeah, just realized I missed single season, not career.

It does strike me as odd that he hit 22% of his career home runs in one season.  If that was anytime after 1980, that would scream cheating.

It would make sense if the drop off came after 1961. He was getting jeers and death threats throughout the end of the season. He was so stressed out his hair was falling out. Apparently, he never fully recovered.

He did follow it up with some good years, though.

Brady Anderson hit 50 HR one year.  And then was just meh.  It happens sometimes.

Same with Luis Gonzalez and his 57 HR season

Scouting Combine is March 1 to 7 this year.  I'm used to it being the week before.  I guess they moved it because the Super Bowl is a week later; doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Last year's head coaching cycle was pretty much all first-time head coaches (Campbell was an interim head coach before).  This time Pederson, McDaniels, and Lovie Smith get 2nd chances (3rd for Smith).

Sirianni was the only new coaching hire to make the playoffs this year, and as a #7 seed.  Any new coaches get to the playoffs in 2022?

Read an article on a nerve signal transmitter/amplifier that has allowed spinal injury paralyzed people to walk again.  One of the most significant injuries we would deal with in my area were spinal injuries.  The impact on peoples lives is tremendous.  I believe that spinal injuries will be cured in my lifetime and I am in my mid sixties. I believe that with stem cell research, we are on the cusp of being able to grow and basically regenerate areas of nerve damage.  Once we get to that stage, we may well be on the cusp of creating from a patients own cells, organs and limbs.  I wonder if we may even be able to do this with brain cells for stroke, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson and CTE sufferers.  Might we get to the stage where when an athlete suffers an ACL tear, they repair it with a grown replica rather than replacing it using other tendons.  Think of what that might do for football players.  I will be the first to admit my limited knowledge in this area but the break throughs are stunning.  Now, affordability may be an issue.

Any kind of device like that would be such miracle for people who have suffered these injuries.  Beyond just regaining use of limbs, it could dramatically extend their lives.  I am hoping too that we will see real use of prosthesis that are neuroelectric vs. myoelectric.  I would imagine we are still pretty far from these technologies being utilized regularly.

McDonald has a shot for Miami as a wildcard, same for O'Connell in MIN. The rest either aren't new, or don't have a great shot.

Hackett (if they land Rodgers)

I can see O'Connell, McDaniels, McDaniel make a push

Would still take Murray over Hurts, so let's go.

The assumption was that there were steroids involved but that one felt like he just like it clicked one year.  It was in the middle of a few years of above average play.

So if they hire Lovie Smith it's only because they are concerned about race and not because he's the best candidate for the job?

Hopefully someone hits 100 HRs.

So Murray to the Bucs?

Confused by all that social media controversy

What happened with Murray?

That's great, but he's entering the last year of his rookie deal and will expect a pay raise to $40M+ starting 2023.  Hard pass

Probably cardinals ownership being cardinals ownership.

There's no way Arizona is trading him. They're in win-now mode.
