i actually think Minnesota is set up to have the most success early. The problem is you have cousins who can get you to the playoffs but then you aren’t advancing past the divisional if you get that far.  

I like Minny's choices too. I'm also a bigger Kirk Cousins fan than most. Not surprisingly, just about all of their candidates wanted Kirk back and extended.

I think Cousins gets too much crap , I like him as a QB

I think cousins is a top 15 QB. I think the problem cousins is never going to get you to a SB or Be good enough to win you a SB. I thought he and his agent played it smart with Washington handling it like they did. Business wise he killed it.

He can win a Super Bowl. He's not going to carry you like an elite QB would, but he's significantly better than the Jimmy G types. 

Sometimes we put too much on QBs IMO. QB is one position on the field. The most important for sure, but you have to have the other pieces. Cousins can contribute and win a SB with a very good team.

I’d argue he got to Minnesota and they had a Sb caliber team. They got to the nfc title game the year previous and he was the massive upgrade they made from keenum. Still they have talent on that roster (especially offensively) and still come up short. To me that Dallas game on Sunday night was why you won’t with cousins. Dallas down Dak. their defense played well and cousins couldn’t really get anything going after the first drive. Since coming to Minnesota the Vikings are 34-32-1. I don’t think it’s all his fault in Minnesota as the defense has eroded over his time but there’s games like the niners, cowboys and browns as why i don’t ever see him getting them there. Maybe you trade him to a team like tampa and he does but if you trade him to Denver i don’t see him beating teams and QBs in that conference.

I think that 2017 Vikings team was going to fall apart a bit like we did regardless. I don't think anyone thinks Keenum is a better QB than Cousins, and it's not like Kirk hasn't produced there. His numbers are great. No doubt that you'd like to see them be better than around .500 since Kirk has been there though.

i know players and coaches weren’t happy that they weren’t paid their playoff bonuses when they were supposed and were forced to wait nearly 2 weeks cause the owner "was issuing them”

An NFL team with that type of operating profit, making that sort of decision in 2022, is unfathomable.

You’re definitely right. I was just looking into the situation. It has to be about the extension… Letting him play out his contract, then offering two franchise tags would be the most Cardinals/Bengals move ever.

I don’t know much about Charlie Campbell, other than he had the most accurate mock in 2021 (I think he had like 27 picks right) & apparently is a real plugged in guy. He just dropped a mock, biggest shocker was Drake London at #2. His Eagles mock would be amazing for us. Plenty of time to go, still have to get through free agency

Is it going to be his choice? Maybe he’s terrible at his job. I’ve never seen anyone get so many interviews, then be completely dismissed by the organization the second he walks out the door.

Campbell seems to talk to good sources. But I dont know how much he has done that yet. Maybe he was at the senior bowl. But the combine will be big for him. Its too early to make much of any of thsee mocks. But holy hell what a scenario we have unfolding in this one!

I know Daniel Jeremiah had him as #10 in his most recent big board, Trevor Sikkema said he’s a top 10 guy also. I’ve seen some draft pundits say there’s no consensus in top 10 of this draft & we could see some surprises, given Lions having a big need at WR also, it’s possible I suppose. But like you said, there’s a lot to happen still. Only thing that gets me on this is I’m pretty sure London had a season ending injury (fractured ankle in late October). Maybe the injury is no concern
