There’s gonna be other teams that have better personnel and talent on defense that he much rather coach. That’s what this comes down too Yup he'll be a hot commodity as a DC, he's a proven well respected DC and in sure there are plenty of other teams with better defensive talent than the eagles that would love to have him.

There's also plenty of coordinators where a lot of time doesn't make a difference. Again, I am not saying the defense was talented enough to be better. I am saying they were veteran enough to run more disguised looks and to execute better blitzes. You hit on one of the big concerns with Howie and the draft philosophy. They over value certain positions especially on defense. The easy pick in 2020 was Jeremy Chinn and he is who Schwartz wanted. They could have taken Nassir Adderly or Juan Thornhill in 2019. The team has repeatedly undervalued secondary and LBs on defense while over drafting at DE. That philosophy needs to change. If the team does not add young talent through the draft it won't matter who the coordinator is. 100% agree that Fangio would be an upgrade. First off is one of the best defense of coordinators in the league. Secondly he’s had about 40 to 50 years of NFL experience as compared to Gannon. I get what you’re saying but just because they’re veterans doesn’t mean they’re good at disguising stuff or that’s their strength. Jim Schwartz wasn’t some great disguiser of the blitz. He rarely wanted to rely on the blitz. Just because you’re a veteran does not automatically mean you’re going to be good at disguising blitzes or be good at blitzing. Legitimately this Eagles team has not been a blitzing type defense since before Jim Schwartz came here. There’s not enough data to confirm they would be better at that and not just get stifled and hit for more big plays down the field.

Perhaps the lure to Fangio would be we have 5 picks in the first 83, and we'll use 3 or 4 of them on D if you come here to be our co-ordinator. And you get a say in who you want. I don't know if Lowie would concede that, but that would be a big part of the pitch, I imagine. Because other teams that have better personnel now and have draft picks they can invest can’t tell him that? They might not have as many pics as the Eagles but they already have better personnel so they don’t need to invest as many picks because you’re already have proven talent. Additionally a team like the Giants can say the same thing to him. And they have two top 10 picks.

Also, depends on who the HC is there (unless they offer Fangio that position). What other openings are out there right now? And I'm not saying it would convince Fangio to come here, but the draft capital we have is enticing, regardless of who we have currently on roster. And maybe he wants to build up a defense from scratch.

But that doesn’t mean they’re not gonna pitch him the same thing you’re pitching him. those picks are enticing you know what also is enticing? Proven NFL talent along with draft picks. I think it’s very unlikely fangio at his age and this stage of his career is likely wanting to build a defense from basically scratch.

No we’re not going forward with hurts and we’re gonna be in the market for a quarterback. How in the world does that help the Eagles and Howie Roseman whatsoever? If Anything that kills any leverage in that market.

Before Detroit - 10 TD's, 4 interceptions, 61.16 completion percentage After Detroit, 6 TD's, 4 interceptions, 61.36 completion percentage. This was against the bottom feeders of the NFL, and more interceptions on 68 less passing attempts. Howie and Nick are saying exactly what they should say today, but if you think they are not looking at every QB option, you are kidding yourself.
