Bold prediction.  I can see the Bengals winning it, but I’m afraid that Aaron Donald is going to be in the backfield all night long.

I hope they win, but that Rams DL is going to be an issue given how bad the Bengals OL is.

The legal tampering period for FA starts on March 14 and the new league year starts on March 16.  Less than 5 weeks away now.  By that time Rodgers is supposed to have let the Packers know his plans, Jimmy G will likely have been traded, and Wilson will have decided whether he’s staying in SEA or not.

TFWIW
From David Kromelow (@dkrom59): Where would you expect Russell Wilson to play in 2022?

David, my sense is all of that remains in flux, and Wilson is open to exploring his options.

As I see it, Seahawks owner Jody Allen is the X-factor. I’ve heard she’s for keeping Wilson—which wouldn’t exactly be a wild train of thought for an owner. The question has been how badly, and what it’ll mean if Wilson, eventually, becomes more forceful about seeking a new home. Meanwhile, from a team-building standpoint, it’s fair to surmise that this might actually be an ideal time to move Wilson, while he’s still relatively young (at 33) and has two years left on his contract (that’s what Matthew Stafford had left when he was traded).

If I had to guess, I’d say he’ll eventually get moved. And I’d have said the destination was going to be the Saints a month ago. Now that Sean Payton’s gone, let’s put him in the NFC East … to the Eagles. In a way, it’d be a sort of redemptive move for Howie Roseman, who was part of a front office that planned to take Wilson in the third round in 2012, only to have Seattle scoop him up earlier in the round.

Honestly, Marcus Williams is an Eagles type signing.

That’s the top of the market, then you got the buy low types like Edmunds (PIT) and  Reid (HOU) - followed by the older stop gaps like Kazee (DAL) that can fill in until a rookie gets upto speed. I guess they could roll with Epps, but I’d like to see at least 2 safeties added between FA and/or by Day 2.

I've tried to put together a model to help evaluate the Eagles drafts since 2010. I've never done this before, so this might get rough. This was the basic criteria:

Starter Score - 1 point for each year listed as starter

Pro Bowl Score- 1 point for each year listed as Pro Bowler

All Pro Score- 1 point for each year listed as All Pro

Per Game Score- 0.03 points for each game played in

Player Score- Combined value of above scores

Hit- Subjective assessment on if player was hit or miss. Draft round, player score, and bias are all taken into consideration. Eg. Kurt Coleman was a hit, he was never really a standout but for a 7th round pick that's solid value after carving out a 6+ year career. Previous 2 drafts are not eligible. Draft class of 2019 is the most recent to be eligible as they have had 3 full seasons, at that point you should have a general idea if they are a hit or not.

This is over the players career, not just with the Eagles. Eg. Jordan Poyer is a hit even though he didn't play with the Eagles much.

The only player that breaks this is Agholor. He has enough points to be considered a hit, but was he really? I marked him as a miss but he is pretty up there on the overall list.

Now do this for every other team to see how we compare

More Russ to the Eagles chat.

There will be lots of happy fans here.

Free agent OT Greg Robinson was arrested Monday in Thibodaux, La. on nine felony drug charges.

Robinson, 29, was pulled over for a traffic violation around midnight, and a police dog alerted at the presence of narcotics. Officers discovered 38.89 pounds of marijuana, 3.16 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, 2.22 pounds of cocaine, 4 grams of crack cocaine, 227 doses of hydrocodone, 48 doses of oxycodone and 18 doses of alprazolam along with "a large assortment of drug trafficking and packaging equipment/paraphernalia, firearm magazines and ammunition and a small amount of U.S. currency.” It's Robinson's second drug-related arrest in the last two years after he fell out of the league following the 2019 season. Robinson remained in jail Wednesday on $315,000 bond. The former No. 2 overall pick of the Rams is one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory.

I’d be very curious whether Mark Davis sticks with Carr, or tries to lure Wilson/Rodgers/Watson to LV to make a splash.

Would rather have Watson, but would still be ecstatic with Wilson.

Would finally give us stability at the QB position since prime McNabb.

I went once as well. Limited myself to 80 bucks for gambling. I stopped before I used the 80 bucks. Something about giving them money and getting nothing in return felt weird. I did enjoy going to the other casinos/hotels and looking around. If I remember right there's one called "The Venitian" maybe that had a little river flowing throw it and people on gondolas riding around. I thought that was kinda cool, other than that you can keep vegas.

One of my bosses loved Vegas.  We had a few week long leadership meetings there for the department. Was work for those of us that reported to him.  But the first day we would host an open bar with a buffet for the managers and supervisors. Good food and the wine choice at the bar was always good (I had something to do with that),  The second day we would host some customers and then each of us would take a group of them out for a fancy meal and more good wine.  But other than that, it seemed kind of slimy to me and the smoking was over powering.

My total gambling was seventy-five cents. A quarter for each of my kids and one for the wife in the one arm bandits.  I have played plenty of poker through the years with friends but playing with strangers has no appeal and I would rather play pinball than slots.  Black Jack is a suckers game and the cake walk at the carnival is a better gamble than roulette.

I don’t see the appeal.  Now the desert is pretty and I enjoyed touring Hoover Dam.  I had to go there on other business trips but stayed away from the strip.  It is friggin hot out there in mid summer.

As we say in CVON…be less poor.

I love playing poker with strangers, especially the ATM machines.

I know there are a lot of Penn St fans here, any views on this Ebiketie kid?

He is rising up the draft boards and some are talking about him being a top 20 pick at DE.

Chatter around the NFL is linking the Panthers to Pickett at #6:

Quote

"I don't think he makes it past the Panthers," said one evaluator who has done extensive work on Pickett. "Their owner (David Tepper) is a huge Pitt booster. He hasn't invested draft capital in a quarterback yet. He has to know the Steelers like him (Tepper is a former minority investor in the Steelers). I think that's a fit."

One AFC scout said: "We think he's going to Carolina. That where I would mock him."

That would mean another likely trade suitor for Watson is out, further driving down the price. Howie needs to get this trade done.
