The proposals are not being released from Washington. Why would they do that? If they are even real they would be from Seattle trying to create leverage.

WFT literally had a guy write a "we should trade for Russell Wilson" story that appeared on their team web site.

Please tell me you understand the difference between what you just said and the Front Office leaking what they are offering. Not one single team is going to start high on an offer like 3 1st round picks. That high of compensation for a 33 year old QB isn’t realistic.

So, for the folks banging the table for the Eagles to trade one of their 1st round picks to get a 2023 1st round pick — it doesn’t seem to work that way.  You’re looking at picking up an extra 3rd round pick for your efforts.

It depends. Most teams don't want to trade out of RD1 because they only have one 1st.

We've done this before in 2008. We traded our first (#19) for #43, #109 and 2009 1st.

So trading any of our 1sts for a 2022 2nd + 2023 1st is very much in play.

For those of you that aren't already married, make sure you find someone who defends you as feverishly as jsb defends his stupidity with trading Mailata.

Player for player and pick trade.

Dillard for Van Jefferson and the comp 4 works for me.

Van Jefferson is intriguing; I liked him coming out of college.

I could see him doing it if he believes the rams rebuild is coming sooner rather than later and when that happens they are really left having to do a massive rebuild after trading picks away continuously. However i think at least next year they’d be a SB contender.

You keep bringing it up. I made my point and am content to leave it there. It's why I have been happily married for 20 years.

You woke up this morning posting about how dumb you think I am. Imagine living that life.

I felt the need to reiterate as you've defended it for days now.

Sorry I hurt your feelings buddy.

You didn't hurt my feelings. It made me feel sorry for you.

Okay. Thanks for clarifying buddy.

The most hilarious part of your diatribe this week is how fervently you believe it.

For a guy who lost his mind prior to last season about the team's salary cap situation, then lost his mind over mailata's dead cap hit while never considering that Wilson could restructure his contract, and then redid the math and still got it wrong, you are pretty confident about your cap skills.

I will give you credit, you are not afraid to die on Stupidity Mountain.

The entire blog called you out on being an idiot.  If you think you have an answer, lay it out dollar wise for us and prove us wrong.

I have an opinion I can defend. People may disagree, but the people who disagree spent a lot less time thinking about it than I did.

At first it was a dumb idea because "we can't afford to trade Mailata and pay Wilson's salary." That was quickly debunked. Then it was a dumb idea because "the dead cap alone will wreck us." I showed how that was manageable. Now we are at the "the Seahawks will never demand three first round picks for Wilson, so we can offer a lot less and get him" stage of the discussion.

My stance hasn't changed. The arguments against it have changed, and I have simply responded. That's not being fervent. And, truthfully, I don't care that much. I am on the record as thinking the team shouldn't trade for Wilson or anyone else.

I am simply outlining a scenario where, if we trade for Wilson, we could do it in a way that gives us the best chance to win right away.

You and others don't have to agree with it. But many also called it a dumb first and then spent multiple posts trying to come up with reasons it is actually a dumb idea. All of which I took into account prior to suggesting it.

I am not a guy in here every day spouting nonsense. But if I say something, I have generally spent time looking into it. So what you call being fervent is simply a residue of not randomly coming up with ideas.

These are always great to watch. Even better now that it’s other hall of famers giving them the hall call.

Mailata - good.
Sweat - meh.
Maddox - double meh.

This was the first year Maddox made it 16+ games correct?  This year reminded me of the 'Year of Boykin', he showed out for the first 6 games, then faded into obscurity.

So I'm sure this has been discussed but what does a Slay extension look like and how would it impact our cap number?  I've seen it mentioned as a means of giving us some cap space this year but I don't know the specifics.

Then he got paid as a top slot corner.

I’d pass on that. He just turned 31 and we have another year. 33 year old CB’s would be a bad idea imo

As one who observes OL play with relish, how much did Dickerson pull last season? I ask this because that are scenarios posted that have Dickerson moving to center, especially if the Eagles draft a guard with one of the first-round picks.. I know that in the Eagles' offense Kelce pulls frequently. I am concerned about the long-term wear and tear on Dickerson's surgically reconstructed knees, ankles, etc. I wonder if the optimal long-term strategy would be to retain Dickerson at guard.

Dickerson pulled on roughly half our running plays. He rarely pulled more than two gaps. Could he play center? Sure, but our blocking schemes will change. We’ll run more inside zone, power, split zone, and traps and less outside zone and stretch. He just can’t run as fast or far as Kelce. Compare with Creed Humphrey.

He's a slot only as well.  I prefer that position be for a cheap vet (like Robinson) or a young CB learning in the NFL.

Slot corners seem like middle relievers to me.  Very important, but too up and down to invest much in.

The latest from Reub-

Pretty sure 7 of those TDs are against the Giants.  Not taking those TDs away from him but his stats are overrated.  They absolutely can risk losing him because they can upgrade from him.

2. I hope the Eagles understand how valuable Boston Scott is. The guy's a touchdown machine. He’s got 14 career rushing touchdowns on just 235 carries. Only two players in NFL history have more rushing TDs on fewer than 250 carries – Hank Bauer of the Chargers in the 1970s and 1980s and John Kuhn of the Packers and Saints from 2008 through 2016. Scott is a restricted free agent, but the Eagles can’t mess around here. They need to tender him or better yet sign him to a long-term deal. They can’t risk losing him.
