I wonder what the options for places that he can go and sign to be the starter.

Panthers.  Lions, maybe.  Saints.  Redskins.  Broncos (although they will likely land Rodgers).  Tampa.  Pittsburgh.  I think he could provide a minor upgrade in Cleveland.

Dude is no where near that type of QB. I wouldnt want him in Philly.

Read the Ravens might part with Jackson as well due to his limitations as a passer and his contract expectations. Would be the best situation for the Ravens. Dude is a good RB but a below avg QB. Wouldnt come anywhere near his demands for a new contract.

These QBs are getting out of hands with contract demands. Owners have to put the foot down and start moving on when enough is enough

That makes sense. I’m not as anti-running QB like most are in here, but I’m not paying long-term huge dollars to one unless it’s an easy contract to get out of.

Like with RBs, use them up and move on.

Colts would be morons to move on that fast. Wentz had no offseason/camp in Indy this season. I would give him one more year, cause lets be honest what options do they have other then trade for another QB and give up 3 years of picks. I still think he would be a good QB in the right system and I think Franks system is that system. They need to get him a few receivers and doesnt hurt to have a offseason to build the knowledge in the system and build the timing with his receivers.

Well, yeah.  When the owner is taking veiled pot-shots at you on Twitter your days are numbered.  Wentz would be a candidate to land in WAS

Don’t know if you wanna piss off your franchise RB

Wentz has become a bust . He is in Mariota , Winston territory

We now live in a world in which the Washington Commanders might trade picks for Carson Wentz!

Jackson is 1-3 in the playoffs and a 56% passer.  3 TDs/5 INT.

You want that AND a $40M price tag at QB??

Bucs, Colts might be looking for a QB.

But neither have the ammo to outbid Howie for one.

Really didn't think Carson would flame out so quickly in Indy. Hope they give him another year to figure it out.

Agree, and until one gets that upgrade no point in jettisoning a known commodity

He may be a JAG and 46 game day rosters are mostly JAGs and Scott is a JAG who has an uncanny nose for the end zone.

I have zero problem with Scott as a 3 or even 2nd RB on my roster, one can say he only gets what's blocked for him and I'd say what's wrong with that, when a guy like Sanders inconsistently gets what's blocked for him and doesn't score???

I tend to think Sanders is one of the most over rated players on this board and Scott is consistently one of the most under valued on this board.

I agree though the eagles need upgrade at RB, I really like Howard but like Sanders he's always hurt

Iike Gainwell I hope he can get stronger, he went down in too many arm tackles, kind of reminds me of McCoy as a rookie in that sense, if Gainwell could get a bit stronger maybe he could be a 3 down back in the Westbrook vein.

Even then they'd still need a guy who can pound it which isn't Sanders and Howard as stated always hurt.

I think Scott still would have value in a rotation in that case.

Uh... no.

This isn't about 'jettisoning' him, this is about whether or not the team should prioritize locking him up.  They shouldn't.  There are a lot of players out there that can do what he does.  No sense in overpaying.   Let him test the market.

I agree... Scott as a 3 is a good spot for him.  But teams don't lock themselves into their 3rd RB.  That's a year by year deal.

You keep bringing Sanders in to this.  This isn't about Sanders vs. Scott.   This is 100% about whether or not Scott needs to be resigned before the free agency period begins.  They can tender him at the original round tender level... and offer him 110% of his last year's salary.  Anything more than that is bidding against themselves... which is something they've done a lot recently and to extremely limited success.

And finally Scott is not a 'pounder' type RB.  That just silly.

I feel the same way about trading for RBs. Can't do that with a player like Jackson. Good player, but not with the assets.

A 2nd that can become a 1st for Wentz. Do it Howie.

I am a bit tired of the Gainwell over Scott hype. It just isn’t true. Scott started four games this past season (fourth choice). Howard - zero. Heck, Howard wasn’t on the roster until the end of October and had less carries than Scott.  Gainwell - 1 start.  The Dallas PS game.  Fourth in carries.  Where Gainwell was a threat was catching the ball.  As good as Scott’s hands are, Gainwell’s may be even better. Eagles would be foolish not to tender Scott.  But I agree, that locking him up would need to be at a good price.  But the Eagles need a reliable bigger back that has a good burst through the hole.  But Scott is an asset.

298 snaps for Gainwell, 219 snaps for Scott.   Scott was behind Gainwell.

Howard's issue remains his injuries.  He's been a work horse and his body is suffering from it.  But, he was the top choice over Scott when they actually needed to hand the ball off when he was healthy.  Howard had one fewer carry than Scott, even with all his injuries.  They clearly preferred Howard running the ball to Scott.

Scott is an asset in the way that a late model used car is an asset.  You drive it when you have to, but you are always looking for an upgrade whenever the opportunity arises.

A tender anywhere above the original-round tender is a mistake, imo.  He's a guy that should be paid at about league minimum level, nothing more.   And if he gets more elsewhere, good for him.  There are plenty of other options out there.   And this team desperately needs a bigger back.  Scott at 5'6" 200lbs just isn't that guy.

Not sure the hate for Boston Scott in this board.

He's not an all pro but he's a spot guy that can come in and be consistent and he's been highly efficient scoring.

Where as posters slobber all over Sanders who is always hurt is inconsistent and scored all of zero tds this year🤔

I.o.w. Scott isn't anything special. Bring in a rookie.  It's not hate it's business

Net average, unreliable, rollercoaster QB not worth the money. I remember the day the trade happened folks on here whined about Howie running Wentz off. Thank goodness he did.

Rumors of course but exactly. He is no where near that number. Zone would be nuts to even put him in the 35-40 mill range.
