No way to prove either way. Who knows if we make the playoffs or Wentz wins that Super bowl.

Who cares we won the damn thing.

Sure, but we know Wentz helped win the #1 seed and Foles helped win the Super Bowl. To argue that is just stupid.

Ok so why couldn’t Wentz have won the SB? Why does he deserve no credit for what he did during the regular season?

Okay, so why couldn’t Foles win as many games as Wentz did? Foles played an almost perfect game against Brady. Do you really think Wentz wins that SB?

We get it, you drank too much at the SB party...go to bed, there's work tomorrow.

Not if you are a teacher in Cincinnati because the schools are closed tomorrow

The Combine is still a couple of weeks away.  Let’s get some QB trades going.

Welp game sucked like I said it would two weeks ago. To every one who said i was crazy can suck it.

I hope you aren’t talking about the Super Bowl we just watched. If so, you don’t like football (which is fine).

There was an obvious false start on the Cooper Kupp holding play, too.

Yeah saw that trending on Twitter. I don’t think it was rigged or more in favor of one side. We’ve been complaining about this all year. the officials have been subpar or just flat out bad all year long. This is an NFL problem where their officials just aren’t nearly as good as they need them to be.

Your argument is the team was that good. So why couldn’t Wentz win the SB?

Im just going to concede and let this back and forth go. I obviously have a stupid take, my bad.

Have no idea why you’re still engaged with him lol

Lmfao.

Put the beer down and collect your thoughts.

His username is MillerTime, but I suspect we're talking either tall boys of Bud Ice or Natty Daddy here.

FFS, Wentz was literally the leading League MPV candidate right up til he got hurt.  NFL pundits from other areas of the country thought so as well, but because he slid down a cliff face after that some fans want to go all cancel culture on his 2017 season?  How sad is it that some fans have to try and take some joy out of winning the GD SB to satisfy their hatred of a single player?  And yes, anyone who can't acknowledge that Wentz had played those first 13 games of the 2017 season at an MVP level has to be either filled with hate or dangerously stupid.

Precisely why ticky tack calls should be eradicated from the game

I don’t mind hot takes, even if I disagree with them. This one seems like a bit of circular reasoning.

I don't think the LB Wilson holding call was right.  Looked like clean coverage and pass breakup to me.

Looking at a couple replays of the Von Bell hit on Kupp that ended up being penalties on both teams, I don't think Bell's hit was worthy of a flag, unless I didn't see it clear enough.

Bengals definitely got screwed a little on calls once the Rams got in the redzone.

Wonder which owner leaked this out. Probably Irsay since they had to wake up Kroenke during the 4th quarter.

Didn't see the second half of the superbowl, but sounds like there were even more rams biased penalties (or missed)

Game was trash. There’s more talk about the halftime show than the game. Even the commercials sucked. Except for the nfl one with all the players trashing the house.

Righhhht. If the eagles don’t have Carson wentz play like an mvp and win 11 games they don’t win that super bowl either. They needed nick and Carson to be as great as they were to bring home that trophy

i know people like to forget but nick foles had a elbow injury where he missed he preseason and a lot of training camp. Heck there were articles that came out he was thinking about retiring due to that elbow injury. So if nick had to play all 16 games who knows if that elbow holds up all year let alone play at that level he did in the playoffs all year.

I think Sudfeld would have been unstoppable if he had to play a stretch that season.

How many times has Foles played a full season’s worth of games? Or played a full season at a high level?

Foles is awesome for what he did, but consistency, (and health) has always been an issue with him.

A few years ago, this board was slam full of "the Rams are going to pay the price for these big signings" talk.  LOL at everyone who participated (likely me, too).  Yep, they paid the price....

IMO, we don’t win as many games with Foles and we don’t win the SB with Wentz.

Everything happened the way it needed to.

This is correct take. Foles is not consistent enough to string together a double digit win season, and Wentz is not the guy you can trust in high-stakes moments for the playoffs.

2017 really was the perfect storm, we needed both QBs at exactly the right time. Neither was capable of doing what the other one did.

It was a risky move by them to put all their chips in.  They won, so good for them.

I still don't like the ending to the game, and I blame the NFL.  They chose an officiating crew that seemed to let the circumstances of the game dictate their calls.  You can't have an officiating crew calling the game one way for 58 minutes and then in the final 2 minutes, completely turn it on its head.  I'm not saying it was fixed, I'm saying that the officiating in the NFL is broken.  That was supposed to be the best crew in the NFL, or at least a really top crew.  They were bad.  If they maintained their hands off approach the whole way, it would have been a better game.  If they had called it a little tighter the entire time up until that point, then the last 2 minutes wouldn't have stuck out so much as a change in philosophy.

Meanwhile, I am exceedingly happy that the Eagles got the crew they got for SB LII.  Serratore and his crew were exceptional in that game in terms of how minimally they were ever noticed.  That's how a game should be officiated.  Minimal interruptions by the officials and let the players determine the outcome.
