SMH.

Mental illness is becoming one of the biggest problems and killers of people, and especially young people, in this country right now. To try to use that to his advantage for this entire situation is beyond disgusting. He and Rich Paul are despicable human beings for that alone.

Matt Alkire has a good post on his website on DE prospects.  Matt used to post here in the early years of the Blog as NDIrish. Matt has always studied film and has an interesting eye on draft prospects.  You won’t always find yourself agreeing with all of his take but sometimes, you read his stuff and take a second look and find truth in his view. (I encourage folks to follow him on Twitter for his film posts.)  I really like his take on Sanders from Cincinnati, who I have been curious about as an Avery upgrade.

I agree with him wholeheartedly on Karlaftis, Enagbare, and Jermaine Johnson.  Agreed on Myjai Sanders as well; I think he's better suited as a 3-4 LB.  I still disagree with him on Thibodeaux -- just so much speed around both edges is a unique skillset.  I think he'll be a very productive pro.  Hopefully people talk themselves out of him, and he'll start to drop.

Not sure I agree with him on Ojabo, either.  I think he'll be better as a 4-3 EDGE than LB.

Thing of beauty for sure. I’ve always liked Stafford. That was the first SB in quite a while where I would have been happy with either team winning.

I agree with him on almost everything. Ojabo would have a shorter learning curve at 3-4 OLB but the dude is athletic as F. He would shine with his hand in the dirt too. If he’s there, I take him…such a high ceiling. If he’s not, I really more and more want Jermaine Johnson as our R1 EDGE guy. The other realistic option would be to trade down a little and take Ebikete. Hutchison and Thibodeaux will be out of range, as will Karlaftis most likely. And I go Johnson over Karlaftis anyway. My top 5:

Hutchison

Thibodeaux

Ojabo

Johnson

Karlaftis

We could have a nice set of Seminole bookends come September.

Need a WR. Can win a SB with minor additions to the rest of the roster. Don't need a complete team to win a SB. Can have weaknesses.

An incompetent defense is a minor weakness I guess

Dave has basically failed with social media for the Eagles. PE.com has Tommy Lawlor on its front page and his last article for them was 2019.

I think the NFL wanted to push social media away from the Eagles website and more into existing social media platforms and apps.  Fran Duffy still puts out a fair amount of videos.  The team is active publishing stuff on Twitter and Instagram.  They basically killed traffic to the site.

This is the level of quarterbacking needed to win a championship.

We don't have it.

The only thing I was disappointed about in the game was the officiating.  The ticky tack PI calls and really took away from what would have been more dramatic 3rd and possibly 4th down plays.  The missed call on the Higgins TD was bad but I think he makes the catch even if he doesn't commit the penalty.   If they call the penalty, I don't know that they score but it still would have been a close game.

I mean the Super Bowl was a shoot out. Defense didn't matter for either team.

I was going to mention specifically contributed to the Eagles and not just in general. You can give them credit for drafting poyer but at the same time they didn’t think enough of him to want to keep him at all cost. So it tells me they didn’t believe he was ever gonna be that type of player after watching him up close. so that they thought he was expendable. Which then comes back to you and your self scouting wasn’t very good because if you would’ve known he was gonna be an all pro then why the hell would you ever release him

No. It tells you your defensive coaches weren't very good, because when it comes down to cuts, while Howie makes the final decision, he's going to go off the preferences of the coaches, especially when it comes to late round picks.

Lol. No it tells you didn’t draft well defensively and didnt have great coaching in terms of developing talent. Unfortunately you seem to think it only could be one because you refuse to believe the Eagles and howie could just be underwhelming drafting defensive players since 2013.

let’s name the defensive players who have gotten better after leaving the Eagles shall we. Jordan Poyer who was drafted to be a cornerback by howie (miss on evaluation on correct position at the nfl level), scouts and along with the coaching staff wanted him to play cornerback. The Buffalo Bills (somewhat cleveland near the end) decided he’s not a corner. we’re gonna move in the safety. You don’t get credit for the Buffalo Bills (cleveland) being smarter and changing his position because you drafted him to be a corner (howie/scouts) and kept trying him at corner (Billy Davis). The only other defensive player that’s left to go on and be better elsewhere is Rasul Douglas. So you have one out of 9 drafts. and don’t give me Jalen mills or Sidney Jones because they’re the same player they’ve always been whether here or there. Jordan hicks has stayed healthy but hasn’t been nearly what he was his first two years in the league in Arizona (the last 3 years his grades by pff 61, 50.4 and 64.4).

If this Kyler Murray thing has legs, imagine if the Texans/Cardinals swap problem QB's. Granted, they would be getting problem QB's in return but maybe both think they can work with them on a fresh start.

Also, LOL "continue to grow". The jokes write themselves.

I like the no look

Sure we do.

Ask around...Hurts has improved so much that all of his glaring weaknesses from years ago only pop up 90% of the time instead of 100.

Future is bright

Where do you think that pass ends up if Hurts tried to do that ??

We would be saying how he's such a smart player because he decided to throw it away and live to see the next play unlike that big poopy head Wentz
