January 19, 20223 yr The Draft picks should be used to build the Defense and skill positions. Mortgaging our future for an expensive QB's makes no sense at this point. We have so many things to improve on defensively. This team is Rebuilding and in year 1 they made the Playoffs. Let's see what happens with some more upgrades. We also need to hit FA for a Vet WR. I'm all for the young guys continuing to grow but we need a Vet in that WR room.

Howie may still belieleve he can get something for hHurts, and he doesn't want to drive the price up for other QB's. It's always best to keep the rest of the league guessing what you will do. Or anything... You remember when Doug said that his OC and WR coach were safe... yeah... good times. 9 minutes ago, LeanMeanGM said: lol What did he do?

What do these people "see" that we dont? What abilities to play the position does he have that warrant this type of press? Social media is taking over the NFL too. Its similar to how people closely follow celebrity, they follow the person not the team.

He told me yesterday that the Eagles OL struggles last year ONLY occurred on the first couple of drives in Game 1. After that, apparently, everything was sunshine and lollipops with the OL... at least as far as I can tell with him. 6 minutes ago, Connecticut Eagle said: The presser was just FO speak. Don't tip their hand. I'm sure Siri was briefed on what the party line is. Not saying that things won't happen as they suggested, but Howie has stated every year, he will always look for ways to improve the team. Wilson at the right price would accomplish that. He let a little criticism out on Reagor accidentally. Listen to it again and see if you can find it.

I think this year needs to be heavily leaning defense though, so 'balance' is actually tilted towards offense, imo. I can't argue against the picks you made on the offensive side rather than going defense there... just an observation.

January 19, 20223 yr Author From draft guru Dane Brugler at The Athletic. It appears that we are well-positioned this year in the teens. In most NFL Drafts, there are five to seven top-tier prospects who make up the "upper class” and will be the first players drafted. That is followed by 12-15 "middle class” players who might not be elite but received first-round grades from teams and project as solid NFL starters. The bad news is the 2022 NFL Draft is missing those "upper class” prospects — there is no Joe Burrow or Myles Garrett or Ja’Marr Chase this year. The good news is this year’s draft is well-stocked with "middle class” first-rounders — players with NFL starting traits who will make impacts as rookies.

But I'm glad if its happening, it may happen early in the hiring cycle so we have time to interview the good candidates before they're gone.

Chase - 81 catches for 1455 yards and 13 TD's Chase had 24 more targets, do you think with Hurts that 24 more targets would have amounted to 17 catches for 539 yards and 10 TD's ?? That is the difference between them, and it is caused by bad QB play. Smith deserves better 2 hours ago, Outlaw said: In the thought process that while the Eagles coaching staff doesn't necessarily need/want a Lamar/Jalen type at QB, they do still put value in mobility. McNabb, Vick, Carson, Jalen...they clearly want someone who has the ABILITY to run, not necessarily a propensity. I think Desmond Ridder should be their guy. Good size, good arm, an athlete but he prefers to do most damage from the pocket. Grab him in R2 and his buddy Pierce in R3. He has great upside without the injury history and "statue-ness" of Strong. Do you consider Foles, Bradford, Sanchez, or Flacco mobile? 1 hour ago, LeanMeanGM said: "Jalen Hurts should go into an indoor gun range this offseason and have targets pop up to help his decision making. Not just scheme, but staffing building, game prep process, establishing a culture, connecting with players, communicating with the press, working with the FO and scouts. Can he function as a leader and not just a football guy.

Why talk about the most important position on the team when we can continually bring up someone who no longer plays here instead. Wait...
