Howie went to the Pitt vs NC game, and it would be just like him to take Howell instead, since it was Howell that came into the season with all the hype. Him and Rattler anyway.  Hopefully he’s done with short QB’s, but who knows.

I went back and had a second look at Howell because, as you said, he was the #1 QB prospect a year ago and lost a lot of his weapons this past season (Dyami Brown, Carter, Williams, Newsome).  I wanted to like what I saw, but I just didn't.  Short like you said, but his arm isn't as strong as I'd hoped, he makes bad decisions, he was running way too much and was taking quite a few hits.

I'm out on Howell, Willis, and Corral -- we already have that player, more or less.  Pickett, Strong and Ridder (later) are the only viable QB prospects that I see in this draft.

I’m all for athletes making every penny they deserve, but this "list of teams”nonsense has to stop.

They need to write more penalties into the next CBA’s for not honoring a signed contract. (That being said, if there is a no-trade clause in the player contract, then that’s different).

Both Wilson and Watson have no-trade clauses as you said -- hopefully this will discourage teams from handing those out, but we shall see.

Rodgers has enough cache and bargaining power to tell the Packers where he'd be willing to go.  If GB tried to trade him to the Texans or Browns or Panthers, for example -- he'd just retire, and GB wouldn't get any return for him.

Wilson has a no trade clause, the team and Wilson agreed on it.  If the team wants to trade him, the player can then choose which teams he would waive it for.  I do not see an issue.

There are people on the ground checking on her, was Stafford supposed to jump off the stage to the ground 4-5ft and blow out a knee?
Stafford did exactly what Pro Athletes are taught to do in a bad situation, remove yourself quickly, how does he know she wasn’t gonna say that Stafford pushed her off?

As you can see, there are people helping her towards the end of the video.

1.) The video shows he didn't push her off.   2.) He ran away like a panicky kid, he could have watched to make sure she was okay.

He didn't have to do anything to put himself at risk to show empathy towards her.  He just turned around.  Maybe it's because he sees people get hit and fall a lot in his job but it seems like he just unconcerned for her.

Howie just needs to smooth talk him.

Why, I have companies and/or managers that I would never ever go work for.

The NFL is the company.

Which is literally what I wrote.

So what is the issue.  If a team wants to trade a player with a no trade clause, that they agreed to when they signed the contract, what is the issue who the player will waive the clause for ??

It's only one rep, but it's hard to watch that and not be down on Karlaftis (and I guess really high on Ruckert).

He gave Ruckert every move he had, got nothing.

If I am Aaron Rodgers, the Browns are exactly where I would want to go. I would NOT want to face that team with A-a-ron as the QB...

No, the NFL is not the company.  The teams are very much different individual businesses.

My fear is we draft him (while passing on players like Ojabo or Johnson) and he turns out similar to or worse than Barnett.  I really hope another teams drafts him before us to take him out of the equation.

I'm sure NFL players will be happy to honor contracts as long as teams are prevented from cutting players before a contract expires.

Howell just didn't seem accurate.  He looked bad mechanically most of the season.  He's probably a decent back up with coaching but he's not a starting level QB.

He's not obligated to do anything once she fell but it's a bad look for him.

He could have at least done what his wife did just without the dramatics.  At least check on her.

That's a hold in the NFL.  Should be a hold in college too.  Hand grabbing the back of his jersey and tackling him to the ground to prevent a free run at the QB.

We're back, baby!

I also don't understand how the Eagles have 40 to 1 odds but the Patriots with actually a rookie/actually a pro bowl player QB is 20 to 1.

I actually like this idea from Kempski.

https://www.phillyvoice.com/mailbag-would-russell-wilson-even-want-to-play-for-eagles-trade-rumors/

Question from PF: You have been clear that Jalen Reagor will be back next year. But wouldn't a bust-for-bust "change of scenery" trade make sense? Who are some busts around the league you think make sense to target in such a trade?

Looking at the 2020 NFL Draft, the player that I think might make some sense for that kind of deal would be K'Lavon Chaisson, who has 2 sacks in 2 years with the Jaguars.

  1. He fits an Eagles need at edge rusher, and it's possible that the Jags could take an edge rusher (like Aidan Hutchinson, for example) with the No. 1 overall pick.
  2. He was drafted by Dave Caldwell, who now works for the Eagles. The Eagles have traded for two other Caldwell picks in Gardner Minshew and Josiah Scott.
  3. The Jags need help at wide receiver, and Jacksonville is a town when Reagor would face a lot less pressure to perform.

I agree with both of you, Howell looked completely different with a good team around him in 2020, but it doesn’t change the fact he’s short, like the other two QB’s Alpha mentioned.
Hopefully Howie learned his lesson with Hurts, a short QB that can’t process the field in College, isn’t going to suddenly be able to process the field, behind an even taller O-Line.

OT, Keyshawn Johnson was asked who he would rather play with, Murray or Allen and he said Allen by far. Looking back at the QB scrambling behind the line and trying to find him, and where the ball is going to come from is a nightmare.   He said every game with a short QB, a pass catcher drops a few balls or is in the wrong place because they had no idea where he was.
