Rodgers and Wilson will stay in their current cities.  That’s my prediction.

Watson won't be coming here either.

Rodgers is single and ready to mingle after all

He might if he goes to a massage parlour in South Philly

ESP proposing Kirk Cousins lol

I think that’s something that would be worse than watching Hurts next season.

Rodgers' next girlfriend will be Jeanine Pirro.  You read it here first.

On the bench again with a non- Covid related illness.

She’s 4th  and definitely below Woodley.

Going to need to see bathing suit pics first before making such a proclamation

What about the tall, skinny, blonde with the giant Adam’s apple?  I can’t think of her name

Close as it gets.

All this Jimmy G bashing. Some people just don't want to see a young, Italian man succeed at playing QB

No, Hurts is better. Now, if you want to stay both are bad...fine.

Hurts is better at...

- Protecting the ball (turnovers)
- Limiting sacks
- Rushing
- Explosive plays
- Staying healthy

From an analytical perspective, Hurts also had a better year than Jimmy G by AV (total value), EPA and air yards per completion (meaning that Hurts threw the ball downfield successfully more than Jimmy). Jimmy's raw stats look better IF you include screen passes in the data set.

You can also just watch the games and tell that Jimmy is the byproduct of a top 5 play-caller + elite weapons. Must be nice to throw screens to Deebo then have him do all the work.

What's defined as explosive plays?

Also didn't Hurts get injured twice this year?

Help a guy out. This has never really been addressed...

Hurts need another year because he hasn't gotten a fair shake and we don't know what he's going to turn into. He has 30 appearances at the NFL level and 19 starts.

Meanwhile Minshew "has shown he's not a capable starter" despite 27 appearances and 22 starts. Keep in mind that the Jags have been a hot mess for years.

So of course the question has to be asked, aside from the obvious answer that we all know, why are they held to different standards?

Minshew deserves a legitimate shot at the starting job.  I don't want to see him move on and have success starting for another team.  I hope someone in the front office has the sense to see this.

Notice no "throwing the football” listed.  Amazing how you can include "explosive plays” and exclude anything about the ball being thrown.  In the air.

I included air yards per completion. That's literally throwing the ball.

Here is the primary difference: I'm confident in what we have in Hurts isn't good enough and another year will just drive it home like my chronic migraines.  You think another season of Hurts will show us something we don't already know about him.  Here is what we know: arm isn't good enough, brain doesn't process quickly enough, timing is downright awful, can't anticipate, can't throw guys open, doesn't work the middle for the field, throws predominantly to the right side, cant throw at all moving left, can run really well when not injured, redzone passing is atrocious, makes a few OK throws a game, throws a decent 30 yard ball but cant hit guy 50 yards downfield in stride, well liked by teammates and others, works very hard to try to get better, never blames others ( could have said a few things about Reagor and Goedert).

Isn't good enough for what?  This team isn't good enough regardless of the QB to contend for a Super Bowl in 2022.  The Eagles have a tremendous opportunity to execute a long overdue rebuild on their defense and the draft resources they have compiled should be used for that.  Going with Hurts in 2022 doesn't hold you back from anything that is within the capability of this team.  He already took them to the playoffs.  Knowing how hard the kid works and the natural evolution of young players who have that drive and work ethic then we can reasonably expect him to continue to improve in his 3rd year.  If he doesn't improve or improve as much as reasonable people would like then you can focus on getting a QB next season when the team would be a better team and one that a veteran QB might actually have interest in playing for.  Nothing of value is being lost by going with Hurts in 2022 while focusing the Eagles draft resources on defense.

The Philadelphia Eagles did significant due diligence on Watson and his legal situation last year with general manager Howie Roseman intensely researching the matter and even sending an investigator to Houston, according to league sources. However, per sources, Watson made it clear he would not waive his no-trade clause for the Eagles, who have moved on and are committed to quarterback Jalen Hurts. Ideally, this situation could be revisited due to the Eagles’ draft capital and, what if, Hurts could be included in a potential swap.

The only things Hurts is better than Jimmy G at is rushing and turnovers, although Hurts does put the ball on the ground at a much higher clip, and he's been fortunate not to lose a lot of them.

The only thing that doesn’t add up is why would they do THAT much research if he made it clear he wasn’t going to bother coming here. I get due diligence but they took it beyond.

Also Charles robinson who has come out recently said the landscape has changed for watson and potentially coming here.

Throwing the ball is so 2010's.  You need to get with the new NFL, no QB's allowed.

Cart before horse, wouldn't be out of character for Howie/Eagles:

-- let's get Bradford resigned, sign a high-priced backup QB in Daniel .... hey, this Wentz looks like a really good prospect; let's get up to #2 overall

-- more a Chip thing, but let McCoy walk, then sign Ryan Mathews as a FA RB ... then bring in Demarco Murray and spend more on those two than McCoy would have cost.

I'm curious what their findings came up with. If he changed his mind and would come here then would Howie and Lurie figure something out? They brought in Vick but he had already done his time.
