If we trade for Jimmy G AND draft a QB.....I will go nuclear.

I was already thinking this possibility. Wreaks of something this front office would do,

Jimmy Garoppolo is obviously a top 9 QB and you idiots just aren't giving him the credit he deserves.

He makes us instant SB contenders for at least the next decade.

He is stuck on a team that wastes his talents.

He is so good of a QB that railings at stadiums don't fall apart when he runs by. They recognize greatness and hold on tight.

Trade all three firsts for him. Now.

There are maybe 20 decent QBs in the NFL (yes, Hurts is one of them).

The other 12 are those garbage QBs.

Now a couple of the 20 may retire, Brady . . . one or two more hit the cliff.

A couple of the garbage QBs may get game, Lawrence, . . .

But unless the Commie and the Giants upgrade, we're guaranteed at least 4 next season.

Soooo.  It’s back to my original plan.  Trade one of the 1st back to 2023.  Draft the two best defensive players available with the other two.  And go BPA from there.  We’ll just have another year of Tebow with Swag.

Nope.  Cousins is way better than Hurts.  And no, I don’t want Cousins.

I mean your plan isn't horrible. Watching Hurts another year sounds horrible though

I wouldnt trade for any QB period. The only QB I would take is Watson and I dont trust him to want to stay long term even if he would accept to come so hes out.

Would I draft a QB? Yes I would draft Pickett or if its late 1st , or 2nd then Strong. BUT I wouldnt be moving high picks to move up for either. If they were at our spot or only cost a mid pick to move up then sure.

In the end unless Pickett slips, I stick with Hurts and build this team in the draft. Trading one of the 1st's for next year is good as long as we have a buyer. (Takes 2 to tango). I know it hurts to even think of another year of a RB playing QB but we do have so many holes on this team it might be the best option.

"Jimmy G sucks!"

"He's better than Hurts in every single way as a passer..."

"Hurts is basically a rookie, though. Plus he can run"

"Whatever, but you do at least realize that Jimmy is a much better passer though, yes? Despite sucking"

In general I don't like trading up but I toyed with the idea of a move up with the Jets followed by moving down a few times and like how it turned out. Probably would have been better with one of top DEs at 4 (eg Thibodeaux), DL like Leal at 27 them Pitre at 51. But in principle I don't hate the move up/move down scenario.  Get an elite player but don't miss out much on the sweet spot of talent in the late first/early 2nd and 3rd.

Accumulating 2023 draft capital to use on a future QB

Spending any draft capital on a mediocre or lower QB to replace Hurts

#2/#3 are close, #2/#4 are kinda subjective. But overall #5 is by far the worst option.

While this doesn’t change my issues about Hurts not having good pocket awareness, relying on his legs too much, speed of reading and anticipating the WR open, I found this commentary on Reich’s offense about Wentz to be telling.   There has been a lot of commentary about Hurts throwing short balls near the LOS.  I think that is what the Reich offense focuses on and that may offer some insight into why at times Hurts missed seeing open receivers.

6. So-called game managers won’t get you beat. Wentz will.

Reich drilled the safe throw into his quarterback throughout the season, often telling Wentz in meetings, "I want you looking here first.” And the fact that Wentz threw just seven interceptions over 516 passing attempts — third-fewest in the league among starting quarterbacks — is proof that Reich got through to him, at least on some level.

But it’s the reckless decision-making that became, at times, debilitating to the offense and the team, especially in tight games. The left-handed throw against the Titans on Halloween (no, Wentz isn’t absolved from blame because the ensuing safety was a better option than merely an interception), then his awful interception in overtime of the same game. The terrible pick against the Patriots. The regression against the Jaguars. The list goes on.

Wentz found a way to beat the Colts too often last season. The thinking could be a safer quarterback, like a Teddy Bridgewater, wouldn’t make as many crippling mistakes.

I see you are slowly coming around. Earlier in the season you said Hurts was a top 12 QB. Now he’s top 20, which is below average, and we should build the team around him.

I’d love to see your QB rankings, and who those 12 QBs are that are worse than Hurts.

People talk like trading one of our first round picks for a first in 2023 is like Howie snapping his fingers.  No NFL team has done that trade from the Eagles draft position in more than a decade.  RLC pointed out the Eagles did it by trading with CAR in 2008.  Great, once in the last 14 years.

Trading back from #15 to #28 or 30 would gain a 3rd round pick — a 2nd if the team trading up is truly desperate.  Trading back for a 2023 1st would require trading back into the 40s.  Is there a prospect in this draft rated in the 15-19 range worth trading up from the 40s to get?  That’s an awfully tall order.

Might as well start throwing coins into a fountain if that’s your plan.

I saw this stat for Stafford for this season and thought I wonder how Jalen compares.

Jalen Hurts in the 4th quarter this season: 60.7%, 7 TD passes, 0 INT, 105.0 QB rating & 4 rushing TDs.

As I started looking at that, I loved the first 3 picks. Then I saw a tackle. An LB. A TE. AND I was wondering who would play CB. Finally made it down to Coby Bryant and was happy. Love that pick.

Then Taylor-Britt... I like that pick too. I haven't watched him enough to even know how his coverage is.  But I watched a highlight that is just all big hits. I love how physically he plays the position.

Listening to Daniel Jeremiah’s podcast, he said from people he’s talking to that Walker is the DE2 and Thibideaux is fighting to be DE3.

Yeah the big downside of this strategy is by early round 2 the high end CBs and DTs always seem to be gone, so I have to choose between a one or the other around there. Decided to focus on the trenches. But I like Bryant/Taylor-Britt as later flyers.

I would have preferred another LB in the Bonitto/Walker/Beavers/Muma range but they went fast after my Mitchell pick so only got 1. Maybe some have paired up the Robinson/Likely pick and doubled up at LB instead. Luketa was kind of a consolation prize.

Cade Mays would be moved to iOL where I think he could develop into a player.

There ya go. Been saying Walker is easily a first round pick, probably gone by our first first rounder too. Not that I thought he would go before Thibideaux though. I could see the Giants or Jets taking him pretty easily.

I think Taylor-Britt ends up at safety.

Yeah.  Thibodeaux is fairly unimpressive as a DE. if a team is looking for a 3-4 OLB he can be the top guy there.  But if he's looked at as a DE it's very easy to place others ahead of him.

You realize the difference is 4th qtr comebacks, meaning they were losing the game in the 4th qtr and then won the game compared to just 4th qtr stats?

And the survey says.....you don't!

You simply have to be trolling with this one.  Many on here have said as much but I didn't fully buy in.  This troll hammer smashed me over the head with such utter force I can no longer deny your intentions.
