Doesn't mean Hurts doesn't have a lot to improve, but there's a reason some mobile, weak armed QBs had a lot of success (Smith, Garcia), while strong arm QBs struggle their whole career - just because you can throw it 40 yards doesn't mean you should throw it 40 yards into double coverage.

Smith?  Are you referring to Alex Smith, a former #1 overall pick?

What a false equivalency here though with the 'mobile, weak armed' QB... Minshew would be more akin to Garcia than Hurts.  Hurts' issues aren't limited to his weak arm... not by a long shot.

SWAG

I mentioned his name before but what do you guys think of Drew Lock?  I thought he showed promise for Denver and liked him coming out of Mizzou.  He might be a guy to be had for a 4th or so.  He's not the answer as a franchise QB but I like him more than guys coming out and more than Hurts.

Why bother?  He's had a chance with a nice group on offense  and stinks.

He’d be our third best QB.

Here is a breakdown of Hurts vs bucs.  Love to hear how the Hurts backers spin how bad he was into something else.

"Are people seriously considering Jimmy G when Hurts has already proven he's better?"

What?

See above. No one is seriously suggesting Jimmy G, but people keep making this false claim. Just so happens it's the members of the board that are consistently trolling, pro Hurts, etc

I hope Grappollo is a better passer than Hurts after 8 seasons in the NFL.

I hope Hurts is a better passer than Hurts two years from now.

How many times in the NFL has a QB with Hurts' ability improved significantly as a passer? It doesn't really happen. It's a huge leap that he has to make and it's not one that happens by just working hard.

I forgot Tyree Jackson. Maybe Lock would be fourth.

Has a lot in common with Hurts.  Both backed up Tua.

Jimmy is a terrible passer, but yet you're saying he's a better passer than Hurts. You continue to try and show this ranking or that ranking to show how good he is.

Can we all acknowledge you're full of crap and just contradicted yourself?

Curious to see what the answers would be, but if the Eagles started Gardner Minshew last year ( the entire year) how many wins do you think the Eagles have?

I think our offense looks better, but our defense would still kill us in the long run.

They just say the same stupid crap….over and over.

I don't think so.  Bars bring out the best in people.

I saw nothing promising out of him in Denver and neither did they.  We already have Minshew, unless a 'superstar' is available and comes we are fine going into next year.

I see them as still an 8 or 9 win team. I think they lose that broncos game but also win that giants game in the meadowlands (reagor sucked but it wasn’t just him prior to his drops).

I think there's a chance we win the 49ers game, that Giants game and maybe even the Chargers game.

9 or maybe 10. He probably wouldn’t have had an awful game against the Giants but maybe he’d have one of those in one of the others. I don’t see the same team with Minshew beating any team we lost to besides maybe the Raiders.

There's truth to this but Hurts has shown glimpses of being able to read D's & make good throws so what is the harm in rolling with him for another season just in case he can make the grade? There's little downside in sticking with Hurts for another 12 months.

The Eagles have the picks to set this team up nicely for the next 10 years & can address QB next offseason if Hurts doesnt improve enough in 2022.
