I wonder how a virtual reality setup might be used by a QB like Hurts during the offseason to improve his reaction time, ability to read quicker and more anticipatory and to learn to feel the pocket and not seek escape.  I tend to focus on traditional teaching techniques, but it would seem they could take training to a whole other level.

Now look at this setup

I would think the NFL could take this to the next level.  Literally program in plays against opponents so that the QB could see what the DB does.  Realize how to operate in a smaller pocket.  Even fix flaws in mechanics.  I don’t know how CBA rules would impact this but f the analytics crew and video crew couldn’t work with one of these manufacturers to set this up for onsite training by the time that is open, then hire some that could.

It may be that QBs could be fixable in areas where before it seemed impossible.  Lots of reps so that it becomes muscle memory.

Is there a non QB player on another team that you would trade one of our 1st or 2nd rounders for?  The player must be obtainable meaning not someone like Ja'Marr Chase.

For a very productive veteran, maybe.  There were teams in the 80s and 90s that regularly traded 1st rounders for veterans, because they saw this as a good way to build their team.  The only problem with that model today is that veteran players usually get paid more and it's tough to fit them all under the cap.  In today's NFL it has to be a perfect situation, and still I would only be in favor of doing it if we were a player or two away from contending.

I've taken a few days off lately.  Have we solved the QB issue yet?

I think we are feeding drugs to McNabb to get him back on the field.

Prime Vick is the only QB who lost to McNabb in an NFCCG.

By that logic Brad Johnson and Jake Delhome were better  than mcnabb???

Laughable.

The interior offensive line was not very good during Mcnabb’s tenure, especially center.

And how many games Did McNabb play with TO? Less than 20?

I think we've been spoiled by a future HOF in Kelce.

Fraley was adequate, Jamal Jackson was better, bubba Miller early I McNabbs career was better than fraley not Jackson.

Mayberry was a pro bowler, welbournre was borderline pro bowl, Andrews was all pro.

Herremans was good

Prime McNabb or Prime Vick? Not even close

Give me McNabb- ALL DAY LONG. McNabb was a much better all around QB than Vick.  Vick relied on his legs way too much. Could not read defenses well (Sounds a bit like who we got now) And that was his undoing. When you can't recognize a double A Gap blitz when they show it presnap, you have issues.

I'm willing to bet we go one clear BPA and one pick that some people will cry out as a reach (Hill, Wyatt, Olave)

Not to mention Vick had desean maclin and avant at WR.

Prime McNabb had thrash and pinkston with TO for a season and a half

Before that was Torrence Small and Charles Johnson☹️

Philadelphia took Eagles

He probably needs to add more weight though, no? I guess it depends on what he weighs next week.

He's 6'5" so I would hope he has the frame.  He's not the fastest so I would be concerned that extra weight isn't great.

I got "Howie is smarter than everyone" chills on this. Not in a good way

I mean he's the number 1 WR for a lot of people.  Daniel Jeremiah has him at 10 in his top 50.  Zierlien has him as a mid-first type talent. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/drake-london/32004c4f-4e01-3463-a3e9-f95e800c8bba I think Treylon Burks may be the better prospect from a size and speed perspective.  https://www.nfl.com/prospects/treylon-burks/32004255-5232-1327-f36e-987913d19348

Did I get this right - the guy that Stars took in the 1st round was a PS player for a Canadian Football League team in 2020?  That's quite the pedigree, if true...

Yup. USC lists him at 210 which doesn't seem ideal. I'm curious what he actually weighs since colleges flub those numbers all the time. DeVonta Smith was like 180 at one point and then shows up to official measurements and is 166.

I honestly forget already who they even drafted besides a QB named Case Cookus

Same.

We'd have also Hurts & Minshew in this scenario, meaning we'd easily trade one of them to recoup some picks.

Yeah, I like Burks way better.  Seems like he can do everything.  Please don't draft a guy who can't separate and only is a contested catch guy see JJAW

They didn’t even try to make this a difficult choice.

Vick/TO is all you need.

I mean who is coaching the team? I would take McNabb over Vick even with TO.  I think McNabb, DeSean, Carmichael and McCoy would average 35 pts a game.

Say what?  Welbourn at LG, Mayberry at RG, then Shane Andrews (Bobby Williams couldn't break the lineup and was a star in Cincy). Fraley and Jackson were solid centers.

Fraley and Jackson were average to below average starters. Welbourn was OK, never made a PB. Mayberry was good (1 career PB) but his play completely dropped off after 2002. Shawn Andrews had two dominate seasons but went MIA after 2007. Herremans was solid, but again, never a PB. Mix in Artis Hicks, Nick Cole, Max Jean Gilles, Bobbie Williams, a bunch of meh.

I’ll take it back. The interior OL wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t very good during Mcnabb’s tenure. I’d say average.

Yup. Jalen Hurts would get at least a 2nd round pick back. My guess is probably a 2 & a 3/4. Getting a starting-caliber QB for an average cap hit of 1.2M/Y over 2 years? Lots of teams would take this.
