None have upside, all have downside, and Hurts outperformed them, except for Carr and Cousins. Running is a skill. They don't change the score b/c you ran it in for a TD instead of throwing a perfect fade. Maybe Hurts improves, maybe he doesn't, but there is no one in this draft that I see having better than his current performance as their probable upside. So don't waste a pick. It's the second year of a rebuild, come back after the 2023 season, and if the team goes 11-6 and stalls in the playoffs due to Hurts, then make the move. One reason to build a team around the Hurts skill package is it's a lot easier to upgrade if you build an offense around a QB with an accurate arm, quick release and good anticipation than one based on a big arm, big play QB. That means the OL, the running game, a big possession receiver and two solid TEs. Power running, play action and screens, TEs down the seam and crossing patterns. If Hurts can't run that offense, you can find someone who can who won't cost an arm and a leg and blow up your cap. One thing the playoffs showed is good defenses will take away the big play and force you to dink and dunk - so build the best dink and dunk offense possible and use play action to burn them if they bring the safeties up. Hurts has mediocre accuracy, poor anticipation, and a looping release. Proof: Eagles removed the quick WR slant from the playbook because Hurts couldn't do the three things necessary to complete the pass: accuracy, anticipation, quick release. And Smith was routinely wide open on those plays and Hurts either missed badly or just didn't bother throwing the pass. Then it was just gone. Against the Bucs in the playoffs Hurts could neither dink and dunk, nor hit the wide open Watkins deep for a TD 2 times. Either he didn't throw because he didn't see it, didn't think he could complete it. What exactly are you building around with Hurts? He literally cannot do any of the things you stated.

If the Eagles bring him in for an official visit I'm changing my avatar, because it'll be a given In all seriousness I'll wait for the velocity numbers. If he can throw a tight spiral with some zip he's going top 11. He'd be a natural successor to Matt Ryan in ATL, and he's the only game in town as far as a pocket passer goes. Quite a few evaluators will take a chance on him. I don't think hand size is important unless there's a track record of fumbling -- which Pickett doesn't have. 26 fumbles in 52 games

I'm no expert, but I'd believe hand size would be important if you are a mobile QB because defenders are going to try to slap the ball away.

It's the bodies flying around a pocket passer hitting him and taking swipes at the ball. Anytime he doesnt have 2 hands on the ball it os in jeopardy. Vick was unique as his speed created so much separation.

Also he was wearing gloves, I presume he wears them to get a better grip (that he needs because of his tiny hands...)

Drake London in the 1st, UNBELIEVABLE!! Dude is gong to be Whiteside all over again.

He was at 3.11 or 3.12 both seasons IIRC 22nd is accurate for his overall NFL rating. There's no way he was 17th as Rosenthal tried to assert. Many of the QBs Zangaro and Reub listed in the 18-24 range had better seasons than Hurts did. Think about how many screens this team ran as well. It's not at all close to a functional average starter level.

Not too many guys can hold onto a ball with 1 hand in the pocket and not get it knocked out.

He had 38 fumbles in college. He lost 26. And now he's going to play with a bigger ball. I'd say that's a problem.
