I mean the Eagles and PAC 12 receivers in the first 2 rounds don't have a good history. I think it's more about how he uses his body to high point balls.

Big bodied PAC-12 WR, I get it. He was unstoppable prior to his injury though. He played in 8 games this year...had 88 catches for nearly 1100 yards and 7 TDs averaging about 13 yards a catch. That's insane production. My 1st guy is Jameson Williams. I think he's a combination of Chase and Smith. Then I like Olave. Problem with both of those guys is we already have Smith who's 160 soaking wet. Williams and Olave are both basically 6' 190 lb guys. Quez Watkins is 6' 193. I know size isn't everything but I don't like the thought of having three 6' tall guys ranging from 160-190. Adding a guy like London to the mix at 6-3 220 (I know JJAW) would really add a different element to the passing game. One crazy measurement....DeVonta Smith has a wingspan of 78 1/2". Drake London is 3 inches taller than Smith and his wingspan is 77 3/4". Just shows how big Smith's catch radius is for a guy his size.

He needs to go to a team that has a plan in place for his development. He can't go to a place that wants him to start Day 1. He needs to sit on the bench and learn how to play the position. I can see why a team would target him high in Round 1, but if they do, they need to be smarter than most teams and not throw him to the wolves to be devoured. He needs the Andy Reid plan. Just as Andy did with McNabb and with Mahomes... he needs tons of reps in practice, he needs to have it preached to him to go through ALL his progressions and never in practice should he escape the pocket - always a throw away or throw to a target. The instincts for running won't go away, but he needs to fight those to use it only as a true last resort.

Sheer 'arm talent' alone pushes Willis up a full round from where Hurts should have been. He is super raw, but he played at Liberty, not Alabama and OU. He hasn't had the best coaching and truly does have upside potential. I'm not going to stump for the kid, but if they pull the trigger on him in Round 1, I could totally understand why. But, if they do, or any team for that matter, it needs to be done with an eye on the LONG VIEW, not for 2022.

He says the same things you're saying, bigger arm, more dynamic playmaker. TL:DR; Bigger arm than Jalen, more athletic. Not nearly the same big game, big program, national champion resume that Jalen had. High ceiling, low floor.

Not nearly the same big game, big program, national champion resume that Jalen had. High ceiling, low floor. Anyone who looks at Malik Willis and sees Jalen Hurts has other issues going on. Hurts was a low ceiling QB with a moderately high floor. He's a 'backup QB'. It's what I thought he'd be when he came out and nothing he's done has proven otherwise, maybe top of the heap backup, but still a backup. And when I say backup, I don't even mean the type that can really be a bridge because he forces the offense to be so different due to his limitations. Willis, on the other hand, has super high potential, but also a super low floor. He's a boom bust type to me.

Yup, good comp, Krieg played a long time and was a competent QB but his small hands contributed to him breaking the record for most fumbles, since surpassed by farvre in more games. Where as hurts for what it's worth while not the tallest QB has 9 3/4 hands.

Under 9” hands are a MAJOR issue. Howie knows this. I wouldn’t even think about taking him until the 3rd round.

Don't misconstrue what I said, if that's what's throwing you off. I said I could see why a team would do it, including the Eagles. He's almost like this year's Trey Lance. I understood him in Round 1 as well, but not #3. Though, the classic line for me is if you truly believe in a QB prospect, then there's no such thing as 'too high' for drafting them. If you are right, he's worth the cost. If not, you are pretty much screwed anyway.
March 3, 20223 yr Yeah, I'm coming around on Willis as well. Good kid, extremely talented. He needs development, but that's what coaching is for.

Yeah... except that Howie was seen scouting him at a Pitt game, so we can't be sure what Howie knows or doesn't know. Howie should have known that JJ was a better WR than Reagor, but didn't. I will never assume what Howie knows when it comes to the draft.
