A lot of people have Mike Williams as the #1 perfect fit for the Eagles. I'm in the minority, I'd rather have Robinson than him. People way overrated Robinson's down 2021 season. He got hit hard by COVID and apparently it really messed him up. He lost a lot of weight and wasn't the same. But in 2020 he had a really good season. The guy is really good. And Mike Williams is really good too, but I don't think he's going to age well. He isn't all that fast and lacks separation. He relies so much on ball placement and his big body to make plays and Hurts sucks at ball placement.

I'd take Williams here of course, he just wouldn't be my first choice. People are sleeping on Robinson and IMO he'll be cheaper than Williams too coming off that down year which I don't think had much to do with his physical ability and more COVID and the Bears offense being trash.

I wonder if the better drafting teams (looking at the Patriots) ditched this outdated stat a long time ago.  Certainly seems like a number that might cause concern if it's too low, but in the right range it's fine.  

OL running 40s is just funny as hell to me.  Usually if you have an OL running 40 yards then something really bad has happened.

Any WR we pair with Hurts is gonna have a down year. I wouldn’t avoid certain WRs because of what Hurts can’t do. If that was the case we wouldn’t bring in anybody.

Don't want to avoid Williams. Just think Robinson is a better WR that has more traits I like. Better route runner, gets separation better.

Arm strength is not the issue with Hurts, reading the field from the pocket, anticipating his WRs, improved accuracy (better mechanics and footwork).

And getting better WRs wouldn't hurt, imagine how much better Hurts numbers would be if Reagor was the guy they thought they were drafting.

I think you forgot the word 'only'.  Hurts has plenty of issues, arm strength is one of them.  If he had better vision, anticipation and accuracy, they could help to make up for the lack of arm strength, but when you put them all together in the same individual, it turns into one of the worst passers in the league.

Targeting good WRs on bad teams (Robinson, Chark) is good strategy.

Yup Fredrick of the cowboys had one of the worst ,,40s in recent memory, didn't keep him from being multiple pro bowler.

Seems like a waste of time to have OL run 40s, almost as useless as qbs bench numbers.🤷‍♂️

 

Amari would be an interesting sign. He takes games off but he’d be a huge upgrade to the WR position which is desperately needed.

Kelce runs 40 yards downfield and blocks.  We all go wow.  Kelce is too light to be able to play OL, but he's clearly not,  because he does have exceptional speed and quickness and agility.  It matters.

Is there not a combine thread?   Is the combine thread in a different section because there are rules against talking about players that are not on the Eagles yet?

I disagree. A bad 40 time may not disqualify you from being a good OL (Frederick, Brown) but a really good 40 time is a strong indicator of being a really good OL (Kelce, Armistead, Johnson, Wirfs). I discount it for almost all the other positions but not for OL.
