And we will pass. For once I am happy that Lowie doesn't give a crap about LBs.

I see people are once again overreacting to 40 times.

Glad to see my guy getting some love. Deep center class, but he kept getting lost in the shuffle.

If Center is that deep, I'm not touching one in the first round.  Use those picks on difference makers on defense.  Not downplaying center at all but there are guys to be had that would fill serious holes on defense....and of course the 3rd straight WR in the first.

The other Walker from UGA with a 4.59

That Penn State S&C coach is underpaid.

They are worried about their madden ratings next year.

5.15 for Williams. Woof.

I want 3 Dawgs in the first. Don’t care what order or who.

I just sent my buddies a text.  Give me every eligible UGA player.  My goodness.

Truth.  Unpopular opinion: 40 time is overrated.  This represents a theoretical maximum that a player could run, but they play football in pads, with players who are generally trying to get in their way of running max speed.  Historically speaking, speed does not necessarily translate to success in the NFL.  Remember John Ross?  Ran a 4.21 40?  Yeah, he has not had a great career...

I disagree.  It's more valueable stat than the 40.  It represents how fast they actually are on the playing field.

I doubt teams are judging players just on 40 times or Max MPH. That’s a media thing.  The teams are likely looking at splits, acceleration, burst etc.  All data they are getting with modern measurement tools and sensors. I imagine they have lots of information that is used in predictive models and they look at the film to confirm it translates.

It's odd. He doesn't look slow on tape.

I don't have the Pac-12phobia that a lot here do, but in this case the shoe fits.

He would have looked slow in the SEC.

This is a great look at how the Rams use analytics, and their draft process overall.

https://theathletic.com/2507342/2021/04/12/inside-the-rams-major-changes-to-their-draft-process-and-why-they-wont-go-back-to-normal/?amp

This was from a different story about Jordan Fuller falling after running a 4.67 40. Of note, the Rams don’t look at strong safeties at all, because to them those players are linebackers. They look only at deep safeties, and they like to spin safeties like Gannon…

"The Rams received GPS tracking data from Ohio State that showed Fuller being capable of running speeds up to 20 miles per hour. They also used predictive modeling based on his build to determine that Fuller would sustainably play much faster than the straight-line sprint test showed.“
