Leo Chenal is a LB prospect in the 2022 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.99 RAS at the Combine out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 4 out of 2188 LB from 1987 to 2022.

This DE class is stacked!

Please don't draft Karlaftis Howie...

Don't worry, he will.

"Well ya know, we had him high on our board and were surprised we had the opportunity to take him at 15"

Rodriguez was another backer on my watch list , he looked real athletic yesterday . He along with Tindall and Chenal didn’t let me down .

This is a great look at how the Rams use analytics, and their draft process overall.

https://theathletic.com/2507342/2021/04/12/inside-the-rams-major-changes-to-their-draft-process-and-why-they-wont-go-back-to-normal/?amp

This was from a different story about Jordan Fuller falling after running a 4.67 40. Of note, the Rams don’t look at strong safeties at all, because to them those players are linebackers. They look only at deep safeties, and they like to spin safeties like Gannon…

"The Rams received GPS tracking data from Ohio State that showed Fuller being capable of running speeds up to 20 miles per hour. They also used predictive modeling based on his build to determine that Fuller would sustainably play much faster than the straight-line sprint test showed.“

When they make them run in pads from an upright stance, the 40 time will mean something, same with the other drills.

If you're gonna test football players, do it doing football player things - not running around in shorts.

Which is why I'd put GPS data above pro days, and on field instincts above interviews.

The only thing the combine really tells you is who was diligent about working out at those programs that prepare them for the combine, which has some value in terms of work ethic, but if they have to be highly supervised to get in top shape, that may actually be a negative - because NFL players have a lot of money and a lot of distractions.

Sorry for the off topic question but I know there will be more traffic in this thread.

Are there any Dover, De fans in here? If so do you guys get the Eagles games or is it a Washington/Baltimore market? It looks like I’ll be relocating for work and just looking for what to expect. Also curious for Sixers and Phillies games.

You're right. I'm just trying to convince myself he's there RD3. Think he's exactly what this offense is missing. Pairing him with Smith and Watkins would be awesome. But I have many targets ahead of him at other positions in RD2. Which means Howie has even more.

If they can sneak up 10 spots or so, they have a chance.

If the Eagles are looking for a Kelceish Center,  Cam Jurgens, Nebraska. 4.91 40 at 307.  Started at Nebraska as a TE.  The Eagles could use a 300 pound blocking TE/FB.  Was a TE/FB in high school.  Ran the ball.   So,  we want Kelce forever, so it's good that the backup can do something else.

Why the F are you so obsessed with everyone having a dual role? This isn’t 1955, Marty McFly. Players don’t play both ways or fill multiple positions very often. Look how rare Deebo is. Yet you want your C of the future to be your goal line back? Maybe Jake Elliott should pass rush? Or let Fletcher Cox run a wheel route? Grow up, Count Chocula…Peter Pan. I found your naïveté amusing for a while but now the only amusing part is wondering where you lie on the spectrum.

Re: combine workouts -

I cannot help but wonder why these athletic freaks did not dominate to a greater degree at the college level.

Obviously, WRs can be limited by QB play - we see that with the Eagles, and others could be misused by their college coaches; but this does not describe most.

Seriously how does Penn St always have such remarkable athletes every year

James Franklin is probably the best recruiter in college football. The fact he never wins anything speaks to his coaching ability.

This is why I wouldn’t draft Jordan Davis.

I don't want to draft Karlaftis, but he's not a stiff.

Lots of reasons I’d assume. Like you said, teammates are a factor, systems, roles, coaching. Some don’t have the instincts or football IQ, technique, etc.

This is why the combine and workouts have value. Lots of players aren’t in roles they project to have at the next level. Jordan Davis will still be ideal for two-gapping teams, but with his athleticism and speed you can see a hybrid front team try to let him loose more as a one-gapper. While he might not have looked great as a pass rusher in college, it suggests there is more there than we’ve seen to date.

This stuff scares me. My dad's college roommate had a bunch of unexplained weight loss right before the combine. Turns out he had Hodgkin's and passed about 2 years later.

I just hope one of Ojabo or Johnson is there at 15/16, and we take one of them.

Worst case scenario is both are gone.

Why didn’t he do the 3-cone or the shuttles? I think this is where the concern was.

I watched some Jalen Nailor after his big combine . He is always open , and his speed shows up during games , if he isn’t running away from defenders , he is slowing down for the under thrown ball

Most of the backers didn’t do 3c and shuttle

but you could see his quickness and footwork during drills

Beavers got below a 7, that’s pretty impressive for a bigger LB.

My rankings after this weekend:

Hutchinson

Walker

Thibodeaux

Ojabo

Johnson

Mafe

Thomas

Karlaftis

Bernard had a nice 20 shuttle

I could be off on Hall. He’s more of a DE than Milton Williams is, but he’s more of a tweener than I prefer.

There will be a really good DE when we pick in round 1. We have to take one. The drop off is too much to round 2.

Agreed

and i think a strong argument can be made for corner as well.

As much a i like Llyod there will be LBs in rd 2 as well
