 So if Stingley is there how do people feel about him with one of our firsts? I know there are some concerns with how much he has played but still the guy is talented

If the fear is that there won’t be a quality edge rusher when the Eagles are on the clock at 15 then you need to go through what the first 14 selections will be.  There are a few players who are not edge rushers who are currently slated to go off the board in consensus mocks:

Ekwonu, Neal, Hamilton, Gardner, Cross — that’s 5 spots

Most mocks I’m seeing have Pickett and Willis as top 15 picks — that’s 2 more (I think 3 QBs will go before our picks but let’s say 2)

So, let’s say the worst case scenario is the other 7 picks are ALL DE or DT, that’s a list of:

Hutchinson, Thibodeaux, Jermaine Johnson, Trayvon Walker, Ojabo, Jordan Davis, Karlaftis

 

So, worst case scenario the Eagles would be left with a choice of Stingley, Booth, Dean, Lloyd, Leal, Daxton Hill — only talking defense here — there’s also Wilson, Burks, Green, Olave ….. I think there will be lots of good players left in that 15-19 range no matter how the board shakes out 

 

I know it won’t play out like you describe in the worst case scenario, but if it did, yikes. That’s ugly.

It would be a bummer not the get one of those DEs buuuttttt something like Stingley/Wyatt/Davis in sounds 1 and an EDGE in round 2 really wouldn't be the end of the world.

In that scenario we're still getting Stingley & Lloyd. Great outcome as they're projected top 10 picks an are positions we desperately need.

 

 

If the top 5 DEs are gone, expect Howie to go CB/WR/DT, circle back to DE in the 2nd rd.

Anyone expecting a LB with out first 3 picks is fooling themselves.
