Baseball is dumb with this lockout nonsense. Banning the shift is also completely dumb. Imagine the NFL passing a rule banning Cover 0.

TIWIW Tony Pauline was on cbs radio earlier this morning and said he believes Hamilton isnt going to be a safety and becomes a linebacker and doesn’t see him going in the top 10 of the first round. He had also heard from a lot of teams at the combine that they believe he is also destined to move to LB.

I guess I could see that, seems he'd be more a guy one could move around.

He played all over at ND even lining up and covering slot receivers.

I think he has the range to play deep or close to the line in the box or one can bring him off the edge where he was a great nickel blitzer as well.

I think it would be a mistake for a DC to pigeon hole him into one exact position, whether that be FS or WIL.

Move him around the same way JJ did with Dawkins and I think he'll give offenses a lot to think about.

Sadly i don’t get to watch the Phillies play mediocre baseball this summer. Such a shame. Lol

Why spend a first round pick on a safety that limits how you align your defense?

The guy will never be able to hang with a WR deep.  Sure, plenty of outstanding safeties with similar speed…none of them went top 15.

You don’t draft a safety that high unless they can be used like a CB in coverage.

He was used as a corner in coverage at ND lining up in the nickel from time to time.

I think the 40 time is over blown, I'm sure come pro day time he'll shave it down to a 4.5 something.

Even then don't really care, his tape is excellent, he flashes all over the field from.multiple positions and constantly looks like the fastest guy on the field getting to the ball.

Seen plenty of safeties over the years that run faster 40s and look like they're running in mud in games.

Kvon ran a 4.53 and dude looks like he's running up hill all game, Hamilton on tape looks downhill all game.

I think he's a special talent and it shows on tape and discounting that because of how he ran in shorts would be a mistake.

I wasn’t aware that the Eagles spoke to Hardin.

Besides his legal issues holding everything up, i kind of think Watson market is somewhat tied to what Aaron Rodgers wants to do. Because if Aaron Rodgers says he wants out of Green Bay and he winds up in Denver. That takes Denver out of that market. which in my opinion is the best spot for watson to go to besides Pittsburgh. And their was a report put out there earlier in the offseason that Steelers are not willing to trade multiple first round picks for a veteran quarterback. Whether that’s true or not who knows

If that is true with the steelers, could mean Carolina and Washington as the two biggest contenders for Watson, I would have a hard time believing Deshaun Watson would be fine dropping his NTC to going to the Washington commanders with all the dysfunction going on there. Carolina might fire Matt Rhule at the end of this upcoming year and their oline is horrific. That opens the door to what Charles robinson said a couple weeks back that the landscape has changed for watson and where he’d go.

If rodgers goes back to GB, i tend to think Denver becomes the obvious choice for Watson.

Yup, deepest RB draft in recent history, Howie drafts Pumphrey😒

Deepest DL draft in recent memory, Howie drafts Shareef miller👎

Deepest WR draft in recent memory, Howie drafts Reagor☹️

This upcoming draft is said to be pretty deep at WR I'm sure Howie will come away with a punter 🙏

I don’t have a problem with coming away with a punter.  Frankly, one WR needs to come in free agency.  But what you really meant was deep WR draft so Howie waits too long and drafts JJAW 2.0.

Leonard has those freakishly long arms, Lloyd's aren't short by any means but Leonard's are unusually long.

Banning the shift is completely necessary; it’s about having a sport that’s entertaining, or at least watchable.  The shift in of itself is just a defensive strategy.  The fact that major league hitters, who are being paid tens of millions of dollars, either can’t or won’t try to beat a shift is what makes the sport look bush league.  Watching supposed professional hitters hit the ball towards 6 fielders while the other half of the field has one defensive player standing watching is a non-starter for many viewers.

As MLB moves farther along the path of home run or strikeout (and nothing between) they lose more and more fans.  So much of what makes the game great to watch — base stealing, hit-and-run, bunt defense, moving runners along …. It’s all being lost.  Watching the Asian countries like Japan and Korea play the proper way makes a more entertaining product.

If they don’t adapt they’ll go the way of the dinosaurs.

I have no idea about anything you wrote I was just surprised to hear that people actually still watch baseball 😉

Flyers have taken that torch this year and done a good job with it. So we got that til the April 29th to get us by.

Don’t even get me going on MLB teams using 6-7 pitchers every 9 innings.  Frickin analytics knobs are ruining that sport, just like the NBA

I don’t disagree with anything, it’s just dumb that it got to the point they have to ban it.

They might get a top 5 draft pick.  Now, if they would fire the Chip-Kelly-level incompetent GM they have, it could mean something.

I can't even remember the last time I watched an actual baseball game and basketball has gotten to the point for me that it's almost unwatchable as well.

I used to love the NBA but it's turned into a 3 point contest every game with zero defense and it's tough to watch.

At least in the NFL they let defenses play in the post season, not so much in the regular season but NBA playoffs is still about which ever team makes the most 3s.

Nothing I hate more than watching a fast break 3 pointer😒

I think this is significant because there is a March 22 deadline the Texans face with regard to guarantees in Watson's 2023 salary. So they may be really motivated to move him before that date.

Obviously with his legal status up in the air, the price is likely to be a lot more negotiable.

But this is no new news.  And since this report came out also word that Eagles aren't a team Watson will waive his no trade clause for.

Hurts isn’t even working out yet. Bum.

The free agent tampering window starts in about one week, March 14-16.  Looking at free agent edge rushers contracts on Spotrac it lists market value

Harold Landry — $17M per season

Hassan Reddick — $15.3M per season

I wonder if the Eagles will commit that kind of FA money to either of these guys, or if someone like Charles Harris is more likely.  He’s 27, had 7.5 sacks with the Lions last season, and was a 1st round pick the same season as Barnett.  His market value is listed at $8.6M per season

I couldn’t possibly disagree more. If the whole team is standing on one side, then HIT THE BALL TO THE OTHER SIDE!

The "three batter minimum (kind of)” made the game better.

That’s what I’m saying. But it’s gotten to the point they just don’t. Which puts the MLB in a ridiculous situation.
