(I'll take a player who played RB or FB exclusively in college who has numbers like that.  243 or heavier, 4.53 or faster.  There isn't one this year.  There is almost never one.   Derrick Henry is the closest.  247 and 4.54.)  

Here you have 2 runners who are 243 or heavier and 4.53 or faster.  They were LBs in college for the most part but both ran the ball a whole lot.   The Eagles have that need for big rb, big fb.   

Look at 6'3 243 4.42.  Compare Burks.   6'2 225 4.55.  If Burks was 6'3 243 4.42, get him,  but he's not.

2018 Montana State - 1st Team All-Big Sky Quarterback - 206 carries 1412 rushing yards 21 TDs 71 long.   after that,  1st team OLB, then 1st team ILB.  He's probably raw and unpolished at all of these things, but his superior athleticism allowed him to win across the board immediately against Montana State competition.  The numbers are there.  243 and 4.42 is really good for ILB.  9.99 RAS as a LB.  the 40 was 9.97 ras.  Fast for a LB.   Someone like Oweh had crazier numbers,  but 243 and 4.42 is what you want.  

 

Not a surprise that our WRs botched the details so many times.

As for the 'at the time'... I disagree 100%.  The Dolphins were dependent on Tua and the 49ers were an injury plagued disaster the year before.  It was the right call, but I don't think it was in any way a matter of Howie bucking the trend.  It seemed pretty obvious, at least to me, that the odds were stacked in favor of the 49ers being better than 

I don’t deny that Howie has done some bone-headed things but at least I can acknowledge that he has done some really good things as well. Some in here cannot.

Ridley's response was even crazier.   He said he only bet $1500 and he doesn't have a gambling problem.  Bro, the amount of money is really not important.  What matters is that you are gambling on something that you fully know you should not, but you do it anyways.   Lack of control and engaging in risky behaviors is definitely signs of a gambling addiction.  

My question is will we see Calvin Ridley playing in the NFL again?  I think there's a chance he comes back, but it's not great.

What isn't clear from the articles is if Ridley was betting on games AFTER he took his leave of absence. I fully understand the ban if he was on the field or in the locker room. 

But, if the other hand, he wasn't, then that is an entirely different situation imo.  If he isn't playing and isn't in the locker room with inside info, I really don't see how he is any different than the betting public at large.

Sorry, I don't think inside information or the timing of his leave of absence matters.  If you professionally play NFL football then you should absolutely know better than to bet on NFL games.  It has nothing to do with inside information, it has to do with a guy betting on games that he could potentially play in.  If he was retired from the NFL or was a free agent that was not on any team, then it's fine.  If you are employed by an NFL team you should know better.  In fact, I'm betting there's a clause someplace in his contract that tells him as such.
