This is my issue. These teams in "qb hell" were all in a position to draft other qbs had they wanted to. But they were there voluntarily.

So I really need better examples.

Please everyone, satisfy this man's needs

Given the QB landscape in the AFC, it's not clear that Denver will even make the playoffs next year.

That's why I was enthusiastic about the possibility of a QB upgrade here.

It's Rodgers....then who?

I brought this up yesterday. The three best QBs in the nfc are:

rodgers

stafford

dak/murray

then cousins

then declining Matt Ryan, hurts, lance, fields, Daniel jones, taysom hill

Dalton with the Bengals.  The white Kirk Cousins.  The black Kirk Cousins.

QB hell is paying a QB a ton of money and making him the face of the franchise because you hope he's the one, but the warts are evident and you're hoping for an Eli Manning outcome.

We are not there yet because we haven't made the financial commitment.

Okay, I have debunked Cousins.

Daulton?

The Bengals had the 9th pick in 2017. Mahomes went 10th.

I already did Romo. Do I need to do Dak?

I would argue the bears. The Bears built up their defense to be really good. That eagles/bears playoff game where we won on a double doink. That bears team had a really good roster. And they went and got Mitchell Trubisky the previous year to be that piece that could put them over and be a Super Bowl contender. Except Mitchell Trubisky was not good enough to not win them a Super Bowl (after his rookie year went 12-4 one year and after 8-8 and 8-8)  but not bad enough for them to be horrible. Then because of that they had to trade their 2021 first and 2022 first (wound up being top 10 pick) to get Justin fields. who also might not be good enough either. Welcome to the bears QB purgatory

First - lots of teams have lost games in the final seconds because of a missed field goal - double doink is still just a missed field goal - kicking field goals is part of the game and blaming the loss on that 1 play dismisses everything that happened prior. "The Eagles" won that game - end of story.

Second - bad scouting / bad drafting. The Bears traded up for Trubisky with Mahomes on the board. And them trading up again for Justin Fields is just a reminder that just because you want / need a QB doesn't mean that one will magically appear. I know some will read "bad scouting / bad drafting" and utter "Howie" like Seinfeld uttering "Newman".

Howie is here. If you don't have faith in him why would want the Eagles to draft a QB "this year" since they have the draft capital "this year".

You are ignoring the financial commitments that these teams had already made.

The Eagles tore off the Wentz band-aid and took a $30+ million cap hit.

This is why teams don't just draft a new QB when the opportunity presents itself.

If you’re talking about the risk of him doing it again, I’m willing to take the gamble that the dude can stay out of spas for a while.

How's this for an idea?

A bus tour of strip clubs and spas hosted by Harden and Watson.  Cool?

Lol! Is it ok for me to hate him now?

Just give me one example where a team was in qb hell like you think we are. That if Jalen Hurts starts for the next 10 years, we will never have a draft pick that allows us to draft a replacement.

You haven't debunked a thing.

Sorry, I'm not in the business of satisfying mens needs

If you believe the Eagles made SEA an offer for Wilson at the Combine, then you have to believe there's a strong possibility they will draft a QB.

Well, you'll learn something about their intent with pro day scouting and private workouts.

I can't see them drafting a QB blind just to cloud the narrative up to the draft.

It's not just about having the possibility of drafting another QB it's about the lost cost one has already put into ones current QB.

Cousins isn't good enough to get Vikings to Superbowl but they are tied to him financially, if say they draft Mac Jones then what?

They attempt to find a trade partner  for cousins or cut him and take a big cap hit, which limits their ability to put other players around their newly drafted QB.

Not many teams are willing to take a huge dead cap hit like the eagles did trading Wentz,

Which is what keeps some of these teams with mediocre highly compensated qbs in qb hell

They still did that and got stuck in a quarterback purgatory. Whatever excuses you wanna make the bears were in that. Trubisky after his rookie year was 12-4, 8-8 and 8-8. You guys want to discount it because you don’t like the facts that the bears got stuck in a quarterback purgatory that’s on you. Again middle Trubisky not good enough to win multiple playoff games/super bowl and not bad enough for you to bottom out.

Part of the reason the Bears in that playoff game lost was trubisky and the bears offense scored 15 points (even if they made the field goal their offense struggled most of the game besides one td drive). The eagles had 2 turnovers and the bears got one around the 35 that the bears offense managed a field Goal

also where did I write they had to go draft a quarterback this year? So we are just making stuff up that I didn’t say. My point for 2 years now and you keep acting like it’s impossible ever happen to the eagles is there’s a chance they get stuck in a QB purgatory. Just so you know other teams have had that happen to them didn’t go into it thinking they were gonna get stuck in a quarterback purgatory when they acquired their QB

Under your thought process everyone should trade in there QB not nammed Mahomes and Rodgers at a CHANCE of the new hot deal.

Isn't this what we are debating, that if you don't have a top 5 qb, you can't win a Super Bowl?

"Voicing displeasure" is pretty vague.  I'd like for actual people to come forward and put their name on this report.  "Voicing displeasure" could mean: "Man, I am bummed about not being part of these playoff wins" .  It could also mean "I hate winning playoff games without me playing" or "Nick Foles sucks, I hate him".

I'm not sure that any of those statements would surprise me.  It's been pretty clear to me for a while that most of Carson's problems are between his ears.

being bummed about not being part of the winning doesn't make a teammate get up in your grill to confront you

The current Ravens team qualifies.

Howie & co went sniffing around every QB at the combine, so yeah, I do believe they will draft a QB.  I have a suspicion that if Malik WIllis is there at 19 he will be an Eagle.

My guess would be Jason Peters.

I think it was Mighty Mouse Darren Sproles.

Idk about that. The Eagles could take a quarterback in rounds 3-7 because they believe in a theory that if you just keeps taking them (in those rounds) you might hit a homerun or be able to get some service as a backup out of him then flip him down the road to get more valuable picks back.

Imo they offered what they did for Russell Wilson because they saw him as a significant upgrade to what they had and they saw the landscape of the NFC being what it is. I don’t believe the Eagles are blind to the fact the top 3 quarterbacks in the NFC right now are Aaron Rodgers then a drop off to Stafford and then the giant drop off to Murray and Dak Prescott.

It says a player got in his face about it and they had to be separated. So I’m going to assume it was more along the lines of "I hate this team succeeding without me”
