The chart wasn't about Cousins, or qb hell, or really anything. It was just a listing of qb salary cap hits.

What's my response? Yes, qbs make a salary each year?

Also, the Vikings renegotiated Cousins salary in 2020. They could have easily let him play out his deal and moved on. That was a dumb thing to do, and the GM got fired for it.

So I don't get the idea that the Vikings were in qb hell with no way to avoid it when the team's owner thinks they could have avoided it.

This was your response to the tweet.  What exactly was your point.

I guess you are from the "if I randomly keep saying something it makes it true" school of thought.

It was shortly after Wentz, in the middle of an MVP campaign, was lost for the season with a knee injury. It was a hard crash back down to Earth for the then-24-year-old, and it showed in the way he was carrying himself initially.

The scene unfolded on the treatment tables inside the training room, according to one source. The normally quiet Sproles, who was rehabbing from an ACL tear of his own, felt compelled to deliver a message to Wentz: Lift your chin up and put your focus on the team.

After all, there was still a championship on the line and a backup quarterback who needed support.

The exchange was described as non-adversarial by one witness, but it was tense enough to make people take notice and check on the players afterward.

"We actually helped each other in that time. We both wanted to be out there; we couldn't. But I had seen him down. So we had a good talk," Sproles says now, confirming a tough-love moment. "Because he was young and I didn't want to see him down. I didn't want to see that mess with him. I wanted to see him up, so I just felt like that was my time to get his spirits back up."

Wentz compartmentalized his disappointment and went on to embrace the role of being Foles' wingman. Wentz was so dedicated that he transferred whatever rehab he could from the trainers' room to the quarterback room -- his left leg fitted with portable modalities and compression devices so he could attend the early-morning meetings. He fought the medical staff to let him be on the sideline on game days, even though he was still on crutches. Eventually, they relented, under the following conditions: stay behind the ball, and if there's a turnover, get back to the bench.

I just can't believe McLane would put something in a negative light years later.

Article is from 2019 btw.

Obviously he has to continue to show it on the field, but I like Sirianni. He's goofy, sure, but he really seems to love the players/loves coaching.

He’s a weird one. He was built as an athletic freak but he tested poorly. He doesn’t have any nuance to his game. He just bullies and runs past guys, so he looks fast. Maybe he’s like Bowser in Mario Kart and players just bounce off him and he retains his speed.

For sure. He doesn't seem like a natural hands catcher either, tends to rely on his body. I think he'll struggle to separate in the NFL too. He could have some success in an AJ Brown like role, but he wouldn't be in my top 5 WRs in this class.

Yep, this is the truth.  Good sleuthing there.

They are in the same QB hell as the Eagles.  A guy that will be around .500, so you are not going to get into or win in the playoffs, but not drafting high enough to get a better QB.

The year before we drafted Wentz, were we in qb hell?

Did we manage to draft a qb?

Were the Chiefs in QB hell with Smith? Did they manage to draft a QB?

Were the Bills in QB hell? Did they manage to draft Allen?

Basically, it seems like qb hell is whatever you want it to mean if it makes an anti-Hurts argument.

And if your best argument is that it would be a problem if Hurts is as good as Kurt Cousins, maybe take a step back and think about whether or not that argument is making the point you want it to make.

Maybe the problem was that the Vikings overpaid for Kurt Cousins? Maybe paying him a more modest salary would have solved the problem? And if that meant someone else paid him more, maybe that wouldn't be the worst outcome?

What's the word on Gerrit Prince at the UAB pro day.  Can't find results. He's a TE with good size who should run a great 40.

My ideal is

15- Ojabo/Johnson (Walker would be amazing if available)

16- Booth

19- Trade down into lower part of first and pick up an extra R2 pick and take Desmond Ridder

From there you have 2 R2 picks to grab S/LB/WR/DT

Mine is similar.

If Hamilton/Gardner/Stingley is available you grab them at 15

If not best EDGE available assuming one of  Johnson/Walker/Ojabo is available.

At 16 (assuming you couldn't do both of the above) I'd love a DT like Wyatt.

At 19 if you can trade down for future assets or additional 2/3s sure.  If not go BPA but ideally it would be whichever of DE/DT/DB want addressed in the first 2 picks.

S/LB/iOL/DL in 2-4 unless maybe one of the better WRs happens to slip.

Jimmy G to Colts? Seahawks?  Steelers? Panthers? ...Eagles?

Jimmy G IS ALL OURS! THE STARS ARE ALIGNIG!!!!

LOVE IT!

Really hope Hurts remains as QB. Wentz vs Hurts is prime time TV next year.

It's either going to be great or awful.

LOL.  Wow, in one year the Colts managed to turn a 1st round pick into a 3rd round pick! Well done!

This is a terrible fit for Carson, BTW.  He is not as mobile as he once was and the Redskins offensive line is shaky at best.  It also looks like they'll lose their best lineman in free agency.  Carson is gonna go all in on hero ball.

Commander Carson!  They're gonna love him in DC.

I think Jimmy G makes more sense to the colts now. They have a win now team and would have 4 3rd rounders (next two years) and a 2nd. Wouldnt be surprised to see them jump back into the first round at the end of the first round if they like a QB there.

Likely any qb we want at 15.

When's that Deshaun Watson traded to the ???? news gonna break?  This has been a good week so far.

Here's my current mock 1-14 and what should be available to choose from:

1- Jags: Hutchinson DE (after tagging Robinson, this seems more likely)

2- Lions: Ekwonu OT (arguably best OT in the draft)

3- Texans: Hamilton S (Texans need everything, so just take the top of their board)

4- Jets: Neal OT (arguably best OT in the draft)

5- vaGiants: Thibodeaux DE (need DE bad and slot lines up)

6- Panthers: Pickett QB (Rhule tried to recruit him, and they know Darnold ain't it)

7- vaGiants: Sauce CB (top CB on the board to replace leaving Bradberry)

8- Falcons: Corral QB (sit behind Ryan and learn, could go WR here but I think it's time to think about the future)

9- Seagulls: Willis QB (Lock is bridge for a year while Willis gets coached up. He has a similar style to Russ)

10- Jets: Walker DE (Jets shore up both lines with studs)

11- WFT: Stingley CB (lost out on the top 3 QBs, take BPA)

12- Vikes: McDuffie CB (replace Patrick Peterson)

13- Browns: G Wilson WR (need another weapon on outside, can't win with just Landry)

14- Ravens: Lloyd LB (Lloyd just seems like a Raven type pick to me, could be Dean)

That leaves us with our choices of:

DE- Ojabo, J Johnson, Karlaftis, Mafe

DT- Wyatt, Davis

CB- Booth, McCreary, Elam, Gordon

LB- Dean

OT- Cross

C- Linderbaum

WR- Olave, Burks, J Williams

QB- Ridder, Howell

I'd say Colts chances just skyrocketed.

WOW.  More crazy news.  What tomorrow?

Ben Simmons shows up to the center in a cowboys jersey and a penguins hat and a Mets medallion around his neck.

Colts are the Browns when it comes to QB.

Hurts getting drafted and later thst season taking Wentz's job as a rookie leading to Wentz wanting a trade out of here makes those two going head to head with Hurts and Eagles QB and Wentz as Redskins a high drama game.
