You don't have to be the best defense, just good enough to force stops and turnovers in big games, and limit teams to field goals instead of TDs in the red zone.

You're not going to see shutdown defenses anymore, but look at SF in the playoffs, consistently holding good offenses to 20 or less points.

If you can do that, your offense doesn't have to put up 30+ points, a couple TD drives and a few FGs.

Who might be an out of left field, never thought it could happen QB that he might go after?  Are any teams in a position where they might want want to extend their young, up and coming QB?  Or is there a Stafford sort of situation?

Does he settle for Jordan Love now?

Does DP want his own QB and not Lawrence?

You know he wants to trade for a QB.  I don't think Watson will be the guy.

Watson's lawyer says he expects a ruling on the criminal cases by April 1.  

All that happens this Friday is Watson is scheduled to give a deposition on 9 out of the 22 civil cases.  It won't move the needle at all for teams until the criminal cases are ruled on.

That’s my thinking. Their roster is built to win now. If they wind up with a rookie (future might be better off) from this class need about 1-2 years of development and likely worse next year. Not sure Winston, trubisky makes them better than they were with wentz. 

have a feeling reich is going to wind up getting fired by irsay. When the reality is the colts ruined luck before he got there put them in this QB position.

You agree that most elite QBs play longer than 5 years at that level?  Would teams trade multiple first round picks for 30+ year old players if they didn't.  You can luck into a run on defense like you can luck into a Foles as a backup QB.  I think the better odds are having both and planning for both.  I do think an elite defense is easier to build.  Teams don't always have an option to add an elite QB.
