Yup. It was 10 minutes of random Flacons talk that was either wrong or incoherent, random talk about a used car dealership, plugging current or possible random podcasts, a random tangent about random Twitter accounts recycling news they said but didn’t properly plug the podcast which will be followed by in the future a random tangent about random Twitter accounts that properly plugged the podcast but Caplan was wrong so it should have never been a report. And then Hasaan Riddick.

I try to listen when Cosell is on ITB breaking down players, other than that it’s a waste.

I wonder what the general reaction in the fanbase would be if Howie took 3 offensive players in the first round of the draft.  Not sure if it would be positive or negative.

It would be 100% negative.  This defense needs an infusion of young talent in the worst way and the 1st round is full of them at NEED positions.  I've been vocal in my wanting a 1st round WR but if they do that, they need to go defense with the other two.

What would infuriate me is if an OT slides that Howie feels would be a good LJ replacement in 3 years and he makes a move to get him, wasting picks and ignoring defensive needs.

Holy moly that game sucked - I actually started watching the Flyers instead. Should have stayed home and watched Cheers… although I was waiting for Ben to go all Iron Sheik in the 3rd quarter in the interest of his pay appeal. Didn’t happen… complete entertainment zero.

I've just started watching Cheers.  Was just a kid when it was on and never had the desire to watch until recently.   Surprised how much I enjoy it.

I've been told that 34 year old BG is in the best shape of his life during rehab and Barnett will be hungry if he comes back on a cheap deal.

*no disrespect to BG for his Eagles legacy.

Soon we'll have Johnson and Walker.  Or Walker and Mafe, or Johnson and Mafe.

I’m thinking more

Walker/Johnson/Ojabo/Karlaftis

and

Paschal/Wright/Williams/Malone/Gunter

as far as EDGE double dipping. Thinking like 1st and 4th/5th rounds. Get me two of those and Charles Harris in FA and I’m happy with that rotation with Sweat, Graham, and Jackson. I also want to see Wyatt, Davis, Winfrey or Jones at DT.

As soon as the grand jury decides not to pursue criminal charges on Deshaun Watson, Howie will be on Line 1 to the Texans.   His activity with Wilson shows that he wants to improve the position this year.  Like it or not, we will be in the mix.

I agree, I don't think we'll draft 2 DE early, I hope we get one at least but not counting on a 1st DE as Howie is unpredictable.   I was just trying to brighten 4's day.

One team is going to have there 5th QB in 5 years, the other drafted a backup too early and is now stuck with them.

Yes, I trust the Colts(qb hell) and the Eagles(qb hell) opinion on the QB position.

You realize that Wentz averaged 209.6 yards per game.....you know who else had exactly that same amount per game? Our friend Jalen Hurts. So Banner has a point that the TD to INT ratio can be misleading. 210 yards per game in this day and age is embarrassing.

Again, I'd take Wentz everyday over Hurts, because Wentz can throw the ball. But he's not as good as you think he is. He had a poor year. And now, he's had 4 poor years to 2 good years (2017 and 2019)

With Kelce coming back it on going to limit our FA spending some.  Glad he is back but can't see us signing anybody too high profile, especially if we want to get a couple starters out of FA.

I'd like a WR.  Looks like JuJu, Kirk, and Chark are the starting caliber available.   I think all three will be in the 8-12 million/year range.

I'd also like a LB or S and I think S is more likely.  Williams will be out of our range.  I'd like Whitehead from Tampa. Young, good and less $$.

I’m good with Whitehead. Would prefer Reid.

My day is bright bud.  Even though the SIxers sucked.  Baseball and NFL free agency looms.

You know today is kind of a big day.  If that grand jury decides there isn't much there as far as Watson is concerned, then things could heat up with him.  And it doesn't matter what DE's are in this draft.

Sixers choked.  Looked like the Flyers.  BTW, nice job by loser Fletcher trading too much for Risto then having to give him 25 million.  Fletcher is worse than Howie.

I hope Watson won't waive his no trade for Philly.  Wilson trade set up Houston for a huge haul if he isn't indicted.

Reid would work too.

That’s a lot for a third RB. That’s more than James Conner got in FA last year.

Not to worry.  We've locked up Josh Sweat.   Good news, bad news.  He's very cheap for 2022.  He's relatively cheap for 2023.

And then... we get to decide in 2024 if we want to take a $14.3M dead cap hit for him, OR keep him for 2024 at $18.7M cap hit and let the dead cap hit in 2025 for $9.6M.

I wonder why Howie structured it like this?   Oh yeah... because he took away almost all flexibility with the current players by the number of restructures he's done... so he had to push this money to the future too.    The idea that Howie has 'dug out' of the cap mess he created would be laughable, if it wasn't so sad.  Over $50M (or was it $60M) in dead money last year.  Over $30M in dead money this coming season when it's all said and done (maybe more).  And it looks like 2023 will have about another $30M or so, I think coming up as well.

Add that up and over these 3 years, we are looking at over $110M in dead money.    But no worries... it's been 'fixed'.

That's the price tag to tender Boston Scott as well.

Damn I really was hoping we could land Johnson, I like him a lot. That's prob too expensive though.

Wentz is better then Hurts. Wentz is better then Hiencke, Wentz is a top 15 QB.

Wentz is decidedly average. And has had more bad years than good. But sure, he's a top 15 QB because after the top 10 or so, there's a massive drop off in talent. But let's ignore everything else and just stand on this hill of Wentz is top 15. In no particular order:

Burrow

Allen

Herbert

Mahomes

Wilson

Lamar

Dak

Stafford

Rodgers

Carr

That's 10. After that, it's just finished their first year rookies, and everybody else. If you're top 15 in a pile of poop, you're still a piece of that poop pile at the end of the day.

This board continues to think of Wentz as a guy who shouldn't be in the league, let alone a back up.

The Hill I'm "dying on" is that it's personal hate and clueless hoagie mouths who continue to yell from the roof tops that he isnt a starter in the league.

He's a good starter. Nothing more, nothing less. I'd still like to think he has a larger ceiling. but we shall see.

He's not tho. He's average. Sure he's a starter in the league, I'm not arguing that. Also, nice strawman. Nobody has said he shouldn't be in the league.

He'll be 30 at the end of this year. And he has 6 years currently under his belt. We constantly state in here that Hurts ceiling has been reached (and it has, he sucks). Yet you think Wentz has some untapped potential? Why do you think that?

Last year when he was traded , you went on about how Eagles screwed up , and how Wentz will be competing for championships  , before the Eagles , how is that working out for you ?

I really liked Reid going into the draft.

Just now, Bacarty2 said:

yes they have. and I think he's better then average. thats all.

Who has said that?

And, again, based on what? Your gut feeling? Because the stats don't support that he's better than average.

Wentz has a higher upside than Hurts- I will agree to that. We just may never see it again, but he has shown he has played at a much higher level than Hurts has ever shown. Hurts has never even shown flashes of what Wentz did in his second year alone.  Wentz may never get back to that...

Right now the floors on Hurts and Wentz are about the same.

Whitehead has the 4th best QB rating when in the slot , number one is also a buc , Edwards .

apparently the Steelers will try to land Whitehead and Carlton Davis , both young and coming off rookie deals . That’s the downside of drafting so well , you have to let young talent walk .
