Might be my ignorance but are teams allowed to be in contact with a player before they trade for him?

So does every other team though

I believe if the team that owns his rights approves it.

not to the extent of us. He would be about the only move we can afford. Other teams have like 40-60 million in cap and can still pursue 1 or more big name guys. For us, it totally changes everything about the way we can operate at 12pm on Monday. We have to know by then.

So for Russ and a 2022 4th, the Broncos gave up

2022 1st, 2nd and 5th, 2023 1st and 2nd, Shelby Harris, Drew Lock and Noah Fant.

So, we could give up

2022 1st ( 15th ) and 5th ( we have a couple ), 2023 1st, other conditional 2023 picks, Jalen Hurts, Andre Dillard and Jalen Reagor.

That leaves you with 16, 19, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 5th and 6th in 2022, and you can trade back from 19 and acquire 2023 picks for a team desperate to get up for a QB.

You can also get a pick for Fletcher Cox.

Reagor has zero trade value. Swap him for a 2nd rounder is more likely.

I would rather give up two 1's this year. That way we still have a 1st this year and next.

Sure. F— morals. Let‘s sell the farm for the diva that wasn‘t even going to play for his team before all that went down.

What could possibly go wrong?

What team will do that when FA is around the corner?  It's a tough ask, especially for a team like the Eagles with limited cap room this year.  Do you lose out on targets esp if you aren't 100% sure Watson will come?  Bit of a chicken and egg things from Watson there

I wouldnt. If he thinks he would waive his no trade clause to be here then he needs to move while the opportunity is there. Otherwise we should move on. There are some quality young FAs this year, at S, and LB, and WR who can help our team for years. I wouldnt pass on those opportunities just for hoping to land him and potentially miss out on everything.

No way. We could trade back our first this year for more picks next year.

He threw for almost 5000yds in 2020 with BoB as the HC when the team went 4-12

Defense was 30th in yards allowed, 27th in points allowed, last in takeaways.

Thought I saw a report from someone that he would waive it for Eagles? Was that ever confirmed or denied?

Derek Gunn said he knew someone close to Watson that said he would.

Watch how fast the Hurts Squirters jump on Watson’s nuts if we get him.  Because, reasons.

Lol oh yeah what reasons 😈

I would rather get two defensive studs this year, we are in the perfect spot.  If we get Watson, and the team wins a playoff game or more, then you are in the mid 20's with next years pick.

The #Texans are currently seeking 3 first round picks. Let’s see who is willing to offer the most.

he better chose a team wisely , because his new team will be void of top picks  , I am sure he considers this

I don‘t want him. But if he‘s the QB of the team, that‘s good enough.. unless he plays like garbage.

I think he's work well with Smith and Goerdert. Maybe Watkins will start looking better with a QB who has an arm

I say no to Watson - he is still a scumbag in my book.

Probably not the best thing to tweet lol

Eagles happen to secure their o-line (Kelce) the same day he gets criminal charges dropped.

You having him over for dinner ??  There is guys on all teams that are scumbags, you just don't know about it.

Fletcher Cox was banging some dudes wife, did you care ??

I wouldn't either.  The team with Hurts, while imperfect, needs to get better elsewhere.  The playoff game gave a nudge that with a better D, the team can compete; without making the D better, there is a level of purgatory that the team will enter.

It's a tough one for Roseman and Lurie. Where do they go?  Make the QB splash, or make the team as a whole better?

I want that too actually but I wouldn't like not having a 1 at all next year

I wonder why RTK deleted the comment you quoted.  Was there more to it ??

Who cares, the 32nd pick may as well be a second rounder.

No dinner and no rooting for the Eagles.
