And in hour two of his midday show with J.P. Finlay Friday, Mitchell stopped beating around the bush, and said that it was Sproles who became upset with Wentz:

"And he damn sure wasn't happy about them going on a run when he wasn't playing. He was, 'I don't feel comfortable with them winning it without me. This doesn't feel good.' Until Darren Sproles almost whipped his ass. Cause he's a 'me' guy. ...He's a 'me' guy. He better become a 'we' guy or he's gonna have problems here."

How many times do we have to cover this.

The scene unfolded on the treatment tables inside the training room, according to one source. The normally quiet Sproles, who was rehabbing from an ACL tear of his own, felt compelled to deliver a message to Wentz: Lift your chin up and put your focus on the team.

After all, there was still a championship on the line and a backup quarterback who needed support.

The exchange was described as non-adversarial by one witness, but it was tense enough to make people take notice and check on the players afterward.

"We actually helped each other in that time. We both wanted to be out there; we couldn't. But I had seen him down. So we had a good talk," Sproles says now, confirming a tough-love moment. "Because he was young and I didn't want to see him down. I didn't want to see that mess with him. I wanted to see him up, so I just felt like that was my time to get his spirits back up."

Wentz doesn't recall that moment specifically, but says it's "natural to feel sorry for yourself when you're injured," that he believes he "got over that pretty good" -- in fact, the encouragement he received from Sproles and the rest of the players with whom he was rehabbing was key.

Wentz  compartmentalized his disappointment and went on to embrace the role of being Foles wingman.

Wentz was so dedicated that he transferred whatever rehab he could from the trainers' room to the quarterback room -- his left leg fitted with portable modalities and compression devices so he could attend the early-morning meetings. He fought the medical staff to let him be on the sideline on game days, even though he was still on crutches. Eventually, they relented, under the following conditions: stay behind the ball, and if there's a turnover, get back to the bench.

I got the same way when I found out they were building some in my area of Florida. The people down here don’t appreciate it, though (there was even an article in the local paper asking what the big deal was), and it seems as if the only customers are a bunch us transplants from up north—but that’s fine with me because I can’t stand Florida natives.

As long as the background check works out, F it I'm fine paying a fat ransom for Watson. 26 year old top end QB talent with a reasonable contract?  Rare opportunity. Possible suspension is not a deterrent at all.

I wouldn't give a ton if he's gonna be suspended.

If it's 6 games, it lowers the trade value, and you roll with Minshew.

Exactly. Minshew can win games. Howie was preparing for this trade when he got Minshew

We have Hurts and Minshew as capable backups who can start until Watson's suspension is over.

If it hurts the record this year it sets us up for a better pick which will be great knowing that we have our franchise QB in place and a higher pick than we really should have had.

But I think either QB can keep us with a respectable record (relying on our run game mostly) until Watson is ready. The suspension is not a deterrent for me either.

I think he's worth something.

2022 1st

2023 2nd

CMC

Darnold

I think CMC is what adds a lot of value to the initial 1st.

How does Christian McCaffrey who is owed a lot of money and has played 10 games in 2 years because he can’t stay healthy adding much to the first? He’s a running back on his second contract who might be deteriorating and has just played in 30% of the games over the last two years. Texans have a back like that  I would also add by the time the Texans get it turned around Christian McCaffrey is going to be completely done.

also Sam Darnold has very little to no value. The fact of the matter is carolina owed him around 18.9 million (fully guaranteed) by the Panthers this year because they picked up his 5th option. There in a situation where they actually would have to give up picks similarly to what the Rams did last year with Jared Goff. Just not to the same extent cause it’s not nearly as bad of a contract.

Id say that as well but then again he’s played 10 games in 2 years so who knows if he stays healthy enough anymore.

*cough* David Johnson *cough*.  Houston doesn't care about that.

I guess I'm severely overvaluing their players.

Question for the blog, do you think Deshaun Watson would fetch more in a trade than Russel Wilson ???????

No. But damn close. I think the 2 1’s (and we can give them two this year) and 2 2’s for sure. Maybe Dillard and Hurts. So basically one less TE and no 5th.

Sure. F— morals. Let‘s sell the farm for the diva that wasn‘t even going to play for his team before all that went down.

What could possibly go wrong?

Do you truly have no idea about McNair, Easterby, etc? If you guys think Lowie is bad…the Texans are 5 levels of nuts above that.

They can’t afford it.

Deshaun Watson instantly gives us the best QB in our division and 2nd best in the conference behind ARod. And our guy would only be 26. No criminal charges? Pick up that Fing phone Howie and make it happen.

I usually am not on Twitter much on the weekend, but I will be checking in regularly all weekend.

You can thank Royal Farms for that one.

They had an agreement with Wawa that they would not go north and Wawa would stand still as well. Once Royal Farms broke that agreement it set Wawa off to expand. Expect to see many more opening up.

Im not a Wawa guy though. I dont drink coffee and If I want a Hoagie, Ill get a real one. But seeing where Im located its much easier for me to say that.

That was with bill O’Brien. He’s not there anymore. I have agreed with you if Bill O’Brien was still the head coach and general manager. He’s not.

He’d be automatically the second best QB in the conference and young enough that you’d be a contender for years to come

Pretty much. Even if you move Hurts in the deal whatever. I think he has like 4 years of a very reasonable deal left. Can't imagine even a half season suspension would deter any NFL team. And without criminal charges I doubt he gets more than that

I don’t think it’s gonna happen.  They want him.  They’ll try.  That’s what I said a year ago when we made the Wentz trade.  They are stockpiling for Watson.  But I don’t believe he’ll wanna come to Philly.

A man can hope.   But hey NC Wawa!!!!!

I look at it this way. If the Eagles are going to make this trade (this doesn’t even factor if he wants to come here which no indication he’d drop his NTC to do so).  I’m guessing it looks something like this now that he is cleared of going to prison. 15th, 19th, 1st 2023, dillard, hurts, quez Watkins and I’m guessing a 3rd rounder and a late rounder like a 5th this year.

if you really want to go over the top they are trying to trade Brandin cooks. The Eagles have forever been linked with Cooks since the time he’s been drafted.  I would not be so shocked if that’s a guy the Eagles also go after.

I thought is was because he is a ho.  But now I learn it's because he is an insomniac?

It’s because he goes out and F’s peoples girlfriends/wives

There's a reason why we kept Darren Sproles way too long. Easy to understand why coaches, players, trainers, etc. swear by him.

8 minutes ago, 315Eagles said:

Half season at most I suspect. Doesn't change my price at all really. Even if you consider this year a wash it instantly puts the Eagles squarely in the NFC championship Convo for at least 3 years after without putting them in cap hell or crippling our draft stock much since we have 3 firsts already

Watson is a 26 year old pro bowl QB. The fact that there will be no criminal charges in a state that presses criminal charges for everything changes my mind on him. We should absolutely give what we have to to get him.

2 minutes ago, 4for4EaglesNest said:

It’s not a trade you make with just 2022 in mind.

I was gonna say the same thing. Let’s say he gets suspended for 6 games in 2022. Let’s now say he plays another 9 years after 2022. Are you really going to not pay the price if you truly covet him cause of missing 6 games in 2022 and overlook the long term investment? Doubtful

That said I still don’t see the Eagles getting him.

People keep saying this, but D Gunn reported last year a source close to Wilson said he would come to Philly.  That was before they were a playoff team.

It was never reported that Russell Wilson would waive his no trade clause for Denver, but here we are.
