I look at it this way. If the Eagles are going to make this trade (this doesn’t even factor if he wants to come here which no indication he’d drop his NTC to do so).  I’m guessing it looks something like this now that he is cleared of going to prison. 15th, 19th, 1st 2023, dillard, hurts, quez Watkins and I’m guessing a 3rd rounder and a late rounder like a 5th this year.

if you really want to go over the top they are trying to trade Brandin cooks. The Eagles have forever been linked with Cooks since the time he’s been drafted.  I would not be so shocked if that’s a guy the Eagles also go after.

I don't think he'd cost us five picks and three players, TBH. He still has baggage and the Texans have their hands tied because he doesn't want to play there.

And a 2023 17 million roster bonus that becomes fully guaranteed the 5th day of the league year.

Mitchell: You hear the stories about him and Darren Sproles, where Darren had to step to him because he wasn't happy about the team being successful without him."
Blount: "Yep."
Mitchell: "And when you have a team that gives you up and deals with the highest salary cap hit ... and then you go to another team and after one year they are like 'Bye, bye,' something is there. I've been living long enough to understand that you don't keep moving a person if they're great. It's something wrong."
Blount: "You ain't lying, B ... you ain't lying. Yeah, I'm with you on that, and I know exactly what story you're talking about with Sproles. But I try to see the best in everybody, I want to. So hopefully it goes well for him. But man, I'm with you bro…”

People keep saying this, but D Gunn reported last year a source close to Wilson said he would come to Philly.  That was before they were a playoff team.

It was never reported that Russell Wilson would waive his no trade clause for Denver, but here we are.

And there were not full out report me saying he wouldn’t coming from two sources who have covered him and the Texans for years.

that said I believe he would drop it depending on what the market is. If he has a chance to go to the Steelers or the bucs over the Eagles, I think he would choose them and say I don’t want to go to Philadelphia because it’s preferred places would be those two places. I believe G cobb’s report saying he would waive his no trade clause to come to Philadelphia but that doesn’t mean he  wave it if there were better options available to him. So it comes down to do you believe Joe Banner in that the Eagles are his best option. I’m not so sure that’s gonna be the case.

Im not in the Watson camp because "IF" he finally says he will just go to Philly  then it means he really doesnt want to be here. That just mean he will force his way out of here as well. Just like Harden forcing his way out of NY.

Now I do look at it this way. 2 of our first rounders are from Wentz and a drop back which we still landed one of the best players in the draft. So we really wouldnt give up much if we look at it as a 1st, Wentz and WR Smith over Waddle.

But again, Im not sold on a trade for Watson at all. I hope someone else overpays for him.

Jay glazer was on a podcast with John Clark today. Texans turned down 3 first round picks last year and that was before anyone knew he was or wasn’t going to prison. To me hurts and Dillard would be included in that deal regardless. I think the Texans want to move on from tunsil and dillard give them a cheap alternative for two years. Hurts might be in another deal if they do get watson to make up some picks.

They're running out of time though. They're going to owe him a pretty penny if they don't trade him soon.

I'd be really surprised if that was true without any other stipulations. They knew he didn't want to stay there, could have had criminal charges, were tanking, and still paying him.

I'll tell you what.  Blount seems to be one of the most laid back, nicest guys around which surprised me after all the issues he had coming out of Oregon.  One of my favorite players from the SB team.

Normally I would agree with you but the Texans aren’t doing anything anyways this year. Heck paid him all last year to be inactive. They are in a rebuild so they probably would be dumb enough to just wait even if they owe him a pretty penny. Frankly think they got until the draft to get it done in their minds.

I am guessing there were conditions put on those pics if he did go to person. But the fact that somebody was still willing to give up three firsts makes me think there’s going to be a team that does. Washington wanted to give up 3 first for a 33 year old Wilson.

He is owed a ton of money on March 22?  Seems like I saw that somewhere

All 3 first round picks from this year for Watson, yes or no? Not saying would you like it, or if that's what you think it will cost. IF that's the pricetag do you pull the trigger?

No. 2 this year. One next

No don’t have to, no team can match that. 2 of them yes

I would bet the Eagles inquire about Brandin cooks as part of the deal for Deshaun Watson. They’ve been linked to that dude since his draft. And he’s under a reasonable contract at 16.2 (kirk expected to get $15 and he’s not as good as cooks) and still relatively young at 28.

It's always amazing to me how young he is. I feel like he should be 35 by now. Maybe because of all the trades and concussions.

Right? Amazing he’s only 28. I’m surprised teams wouldn’t be interested in him considering the price that Mike Williams just went for. Since leaving the rams he’s had back to back 1000 yard seasons with the Texans. His numbers would’ve been better this year if their QB play wasn’t up and down all year.

If Howie can flip Wentz and a trade back that got us Smith into Watson then he deserves GM of the year already

Absolutely. You don't get a 1st round prospect for one year in exchange for a proven commodity at the most important position in the game. And you have everything else going forward to build the team. No brainer imo.

This is known as the Howie Roseman Smartest GM in the League draft. I drafted purposely with the mindset of taking guys who are undervalued, and outsmarting everyone by just taking those players because you know they are good players despite what rankings may say. Be it because of a disappointing combine performance (Lloyd, Burks), or guys flying way under the radar for absolutely no reason (Jobe,  Jurgens, Haskins, Prince, Blankenship, Booker, Bolden) a bunch of these guys may seen as reaches.

1 this year, 1 in 2023 and 1 in 2024.  Maybe another pick thrown in.  I don't want to see all 3 1sts this year get traded.

We still need defense and youth there as well.

Giants and Lions could beat 2 of our firsts alone this year.  Jets could too but assuming they stick with Wilson. So I wouldn't be so sure.
