4 years ago would have loved that.  He's going on 29, strictly a slot WR.  He's a good player but not for this team.

I think the biggest questions for the Eagles entering FA (aside from QB) is how much do they like McPherson and the depth corners, and how much will the draft factor into their spending at DE and CB — two deep positions.

Weird.  He's been one of my least favorite Eagles ever since he signed his massive contract.  They should have traded him 2 years ago.  Agree that it will be weird seeing him in another uniform.

When all is said and done, no is going to care about contract size or cap hits. Cox is one of the best Eagles in history, and was most likely our best player on our Superbowl squad.

I don't think they have anything in the CB room other than Maddox that should effect what they do in the draft.  We know Slay isn't here long term.  McPhearson barely saw the field but when he did get a chance, nothing jumped out good or bad.  The rest of the CB are core ST or JAGs.  Chachere is a nice depth player and Scott is nothing more than a back up to Maddox/core ST player.

For sure, he was great on the SB team.  He's been overrated since then.  He's been a once every 4 weeks he shows up kind of guy.  All-time Eagle no doubt.

Right, but do they like McPhearson enough that they’re comfortable penciling him as a starter until (ideally) drafting a corner in round 1/2?

If not, they’ll need to sign a vet, or wait out the market like they did with Nelson. If they like McPhearson long-term or think they’ll find a highly rated CB in the draft, that affects how much they spend on CB in FA.

Should have been a fire sale last season.. but they couldn't actually afford to do it last year because of the cap.  Any big contract they can unload, they need to.  This team isn't built to win this year, and Cox's (and other's) effectiveness will be diminishing before they are ready again.

I keep reading how much they like McPhearson and I truly don't get why. Good athlete, but didn't show a lot last year.

Lots of misinformation around this time of year.  Maybe they are trying to throw folks off the CB scent.  I'm not buying it.  I doubt the rest of the league is either.

Zech is a dime a dozen CB prospect. OK size. Solid athleticism. Theres plenty of those in every draft. I dont know how a guy like him could possibly impact the teams willingness to upgrade the position.

If they come out of free agency and the only WR they sign is Zach Paschal it would be a complete and total failure.

Cox "was" a great player. I wouldnt call him one of the greatest Eagles of all time. Maybe if I was a newer fan I guess. He hasnt since 2018. hes been good but not great since.  Sadly his cap hit is extremely high otherwise I would trade him if someone offered a 2nd in heartbeat. 40 Mill is a bit much to eat. Ouch.
