It's common sense.  in a bidding war the ace up the sleeve for the Eagles is that they have 3 first round picks this year.  This is something no other team can offer the Texans so if Watson were to waive the NTC and the Eagles were all in on getting him then they will likely have to give those up if it means them or another team getting Watson.

The defense isn't going to magically give up fewer points and be able to make stops at the end of games if they add an improvement at QB.

It's not common sense, it's your opinion just like it's my opinion they would rather spread the wealth over 2-3 drafts than consolidate in one draft, especially a draft lacking good QBs.

If there is improved QB play the defense may not need to make stop after stop after stop to win a game.

That is both interesting and a bit scary.  Don't really want Watson.

honest question, i didnt watch a lot of Texan games, is Watson that good? The Texans have always sucked with him at QB. What am i missing? I understand he is better than Hurts (who i am no fan of) but is Watson 'that good'?

In the off chance that Watson waives his NTC for the Eagles then they will be entering a rabid bidding war.  It will likely take at least all 3 of their firsts this year.

No it wont.

What separates the Eagles and another team offering the same deal then if you're spreading across drafts?  The advantage of the Eagles is that they can spread across drafts but they can also trade 3 firsts in this draft to a Texans team in need of a lot of talent.

Why not?

Why not?

Because its illogical.

And then you have the 2023 first back that you trade for Watson

On Eagles website Hurts is listed as being on the roster.

Yes. He is. They played with a bottom 3 defense like 3 years in a row.  But he is easily top 5 NFL qb.

speaking of lots of cap space and the meaningless dead cap, any update yet on how the Kelce contract affects things?

How is it illogical?  Explain to me the logic that the 3 first round picks the Eagles have which separate them from every other team bidding for him would not be part of the trade?

I really dont think I can.

Alright cool, can't back up your stance.   Eagles and another team offer the same trade, why is that scale being pushed to the Eagles side?  The 3 first round picks are the scale tipping asset that the Eagles have in any trade this offseason.
