Is there a "safer" jersey purchase in Eagles history than Dawkins? 

My last Jersey bought was a Foles  Super Bowl MVP.

I don’t know about that. I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of my Bobby Hoying jersey.

My Kevin Curtis yellow and baby blue was a purchase I truly regret. It did not make the cut during my last move. Lol

Who are guys you DON'T want in FA?

Two for me are Hassan Reddick and Chandler Jones.  I don't think the Eagles would use Reddick the right way and Jones is going to be very pricey for his age.

I don’t understand why they bother with this "legal tampering” lead up. For one thing, if it’s legal it isn’t tampering. Second, what is the point? Just open free agency if teams can already talk with players.

Teams have been tampering for weeks anyway.

Because technically contracts can't be agreed upon, it allows agents to formally get multiple offers without having to rush to make a decision within minutes. 

Yes, tampering has been happening anyway but it's a fairer process.

well the NFL doesnt call it legal tampering. Thats a fan/media created term. But agreed on the second point. Ever since they began this type of format, people have wondered- why?

Every team is talking anyway, players used to sign pretty much as soon as free agency opens regardless.

I think the NFL knows that tampering happens before the start of the league year/official start of free agency. So instead of trying to crack down on every team, they created a window to make it leagal.

But now, we know teams tamper before legal tampering. So where do we go from here?

1. supposedly John McClain of Houston chronicle was on Sirius about 10-15 mins ago saying the eagles made an offer to houston for watson last year. Watson had no interest going to the eagles. 

2. also caplan on inside the birds saying as of Monday morning watson has no interest in the eagles.

Yup.  Going to the way back machine, I think Jevon Kearse signed with the Eagles just minutes after midnight back in 2004, which was the start time back then.

ok. Im pretty much believing it then. I didnt buy the other article with the wording. But these 2 paint a more clear picture. 

So, now we know how to go about business at 12pm today. Sign guys cause we dont need the space for Watson's salary.

I'll toss in that I've seen reports that said that both Carolina and New Orleans have made strong offers for Watson.  There's no details, but the speculation was that they were both willing to meet the 3 1st round pick demand from Houston.   

I'd bet that if Carolina is in, they will pull out all the stops.  The issue is Watson waiving his no trade clause.

Kirk has played it perfectly his career with the franchise tags then the short term fully guaranteed deals. Cudos to both his agent and his confidence in himself to not get injured and just play through these situations.

The real story should be....how LOWIE is perceived by others in the NFL.  Sure, they'll spin it and say they didn't want to spend the capital to get him.  Or how they weren't comfortable with some of the things he's done or said.  Or better yet, they'll try to convince us that Jalen is their guy.  When the fact is....they were in on him......and he denied them.  

Sure, you can argue you didn't want the guy....I am fine with that.  But that's not the real issue.  

There is more than one issue here.  But, yeah... glad that the Eagles won't get Watson, no matter how it comes about.  

 

And I don't really trust them to make the right moves this offseason to actually create the organizational change that's needed to get over the hump.  I think we will be mired in that mediocre landscape for a while now... always winning somewhere between 7 and 10 games and getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs when they make it.  Not a good place to be.
