It was obvious that they wanted a pass rusher out of the sam spot and to play multiple fronts/looks. Reddick will likely play sam and then some traditional DE in obvious passing situations. The pass rush last year was abysmal, this is a great move.

Reddick is going to play SAM. BG is old as hell and coming off a major injury. They will still likely take a DE in round 1, and no later than round 2.

Why not?  It's the most important position on D.  Sweat is just ok.  You can never have enough good pass rushers...

Gives them more options in the draft, you can add developmental pass rushers later knowing they don't have to play right away, and an early down run stopper with Reddick at SAM.

So you're not locked into HAVING to take a pass rushing DE early.

Reddick will play a lot of Joker with both Sweat and Graham on the field at the same time. Gonna be awesome to watch.

Wrong. Just gives them more ability to go BPA, which I love to see.

Agreed. He's versatile and can play multiple spots. Plus, he's a hometown guy. LOVE this signing.

Do we have faith in Gannon to do this?  That's the only reason I question it.  I don't know how good Gannon is at creating opportunities.  No doubt, Reddick can get after the passer.

If Ojabo/Jermaine Johnson/Walker is on the board at #15 I'd still lay odds the Eagles take edge rusher in that spot.  The Reddick move guards against the DE flying off the board early.

Still think they'll invest in the DL, but not exclusively DE.

Howie will absolutely over-invest in both OL/DL.

This did not fill the need at DE because Reddick won't be a classic DE. Barring a Watson trade, I'd be shocked if they don't land a DE in the top 2 rounds
