So why not just call it FA open rather than tampering.  Dumb

Fans/Media call it legal tampering. NFL calls it negotiating period.

Reddick provides flexibility, he can play SAM, Elephant, even be used as an A gap blitzer.

Allows Gannon to give different looks, bring pressure from different spots and create one on one matchups.

What does Elephant do? Besides blow his trunk.

I'm not sure CB is a top priority in this scheme.  We play a lot 2 safety.

I heard a podcast last week with Ben Solak on Birds with Friends.  He did a nice job explaining what Gannon would want to do but couldn't because of personnel.

Look for LB and S to get much more attention this offseason than usual.  (Reddick as exhibit one.)

Yeah but we have a glaring need across from Slay unless they bring Nelson back

Fair, just my preference

I hear ya. He's ultra talented. If he is there 15/16 could very well be a value pick due to that injury and Howie just fancies  those.

I theorize it’s to the league’s benefit. It’s all so all this activity isn’t happening in a 30-minute window on Wednesday. Makes it far easier to track if they have 48 hours to straighten everything out

Agreed.  A need.  Just commenting on the resource commitment to that need.

Oh well, there goes that

No, it just takes a restructure. They're not traded Cox to anywhere he doesn't want to go anyway.

I already explained this to you, you just chose to not understand.

You can not restructure signing bonus cap hits.  When a contract is restructured, they take salary and convert it into signing bonus and push it into the future.

The 40 million in signing bonus money becomes an immediate cap hit the second Cox is traded.  The only way to get any relief is Cox would have to pay back the bonus money.

Yeah but he's not established like a Davis is.

Way cheaper though

One of those AFC west teams should overpay for a LT with a first round pedigree….just my two cents

Even though they weren't spread out evenly....

Sounds like you are complaining about them not filling a glaring need five hours into free agency that they filled last year for a few millions late in the summer.

It should be noted that Haason Reddick went off the board at #13 in the 2017 NFL draft, the pick before the Eagles selected Derek Barnett at #14.

It's now come full circle -- Jeffrey Lurie has delivered on his promise that "guys we wanted went off the board right before our pick"

Now Reddick takes Barnett's money from the Eagles.

A new WR will still have to share snaps with Reagor and JJAW

JJAW is good as gone. Reagor we are stuck with.

Spadaro either tweeted or said it somewhere that teams are allowed to do this now. Started this year.

Can they get Mecole Hardman now?

You're more optimistic than me. I hope you're right though

Better chance that Watson is an Eagle than JJAW come September

Really?  JJAW is the better blocker.

Is anyone a fan of Metchie III? Know he got hurt but I thought he was nice in the games I watched

He'd be a good slot
